The toaster has worked fine, though I've only had it for less than a week. I especially like the frozen button, since I freeze my bread to make it last longer. When I first tried it I was shocked at the awful smell emanating from the interior of the toaster. I consulted the manual, which said the toaster had to "cure the new elements" and that "this may produce a slight odor as the element cures." In my case I had to open windows and run the toaster several times (without toast), to eliminate the strong and toxic smell! Since then I've had no problems.

We have a big family so it is constantly being used and some are more gentle than others when using it it helps that it is well made.

The finish on this toaster is a brushed stainless steel and looks stylish and sleek near my brushed stainless steel kitchen sink and other items in my kitchen that are trimmed with a similar finish. It's a very recent purchase, so I've only used it a few times, but so far, it's done everything a toaster would be needed to do. All of my major appliances are the GE brand and I've been extremely satisfied with all of them, so buying a GE toaster was an easy choice. I did do my homework and browsed other brands, but nothing impressed me any more than this GE. It was the clear winner and I'm very happy with this purchase.

Bought this toaster for it's bagel setting. It works well. Not worth a 5 star because it is very uneven on basic toasting (bagel or regular) setting. Bottom inch or so toasts considerably darker than the top. One side is about a half shade darker than the other.

They don't make toasters like they use too...some will say. It doesn't apply to this one. This toaster toasts the bread evenly on both sides, the settings are accurate and it's a standard toaster, no frills or thrills, just a toaster that does what it's supposed to do by doing it right "Makes good toast".

I like the traditional metal toaster. Was surprised at how light (in weight) this one was compared to the previous one. Was a little disappointed on how it toasts. It is more brown on the bottom than the top. Not sure if it is from just being new.

Got this toaster before Christmas for myself. After received it, I was very impressed by the product and bought another one for my family friend. As of today, both toasters have been working very well and becoming an important part of our kitchens, inseparable from our daily life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this great GE 2 slice toaster. It is shiny metal, so far easy to clean. Very attractive on the counter. Easy to read buttons, toast or bagel. Easy to set buttons. Fair length cord. All is working wonderfully.

Which on my counter is a big deal, not a ton of space. I like that it has a Bagel setting separate and I love that it has a FROZEN setting. This feature is cool, I can freeze, pull it out of the freezer and I am on my way! Great value!

The toaster looks great, and while lightweight it doesn't seem cheaply made. I made a batch of homemade egg mcmuffins today and using the bagel setting for my english muffins, they came out perfect! Strong chemical smell, but I read about that in reviews before I bought it and know that it will go away after a few uses.
