The fact that it's pre-seasoned is a huge plus—it was ready to use right away, and it handled its first sauté beautifully with even heating and no sticking. It's a great in-between option if you like the performance of cast iron but want something a bit lighter.

It heats up quickly and evenly, need hand wash and dry then put some oil to keep it nonstick. The only thing is the handle may be hot after a long time cooking.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using this 8” carbon steel frypan for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m pretty impressed. It heats up quickly, which makes cooking super efficient, and I love that nothing sticks to it — even with minimal oil. Cleanup is also a breeze, which is a big plus in my book. That said, one downside is that the handle gets quite hot during cooking, so you definitely need to use an oven mitt or towel when handling it. It’s a bit inconvenient, but not a dealbreaker for me. Still, it’s a solid pan that performs well for everyday use.

It's easy enough to clean but left a slightly residue after the first use. This, however, made the non stick even better. Compared to a cast iron, I'll stick to my cast iron.

As a member of The GreenPan Kitchen Team, I tested this product and I'm excited to share my review. WOW! I am super impressed with Bobby Flay's new carbon steel. It is already pre-seasoned so you can get started right away and the cast iron body develops a nonstick patina that gets better every time you use it. You can use it on all surfaces: all stovetops (including induction), grill, oven, or open flame. Perfect for outdoor grilling in the summer and indoor cooking in the wintertime! I made burgers on this frypan and they were divine!

If you have never tried carbon steel cookware, this piece is absolutely the best Try my pan! It has a nice weight to it but is much lighter than cast iron.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a carbon steel pan like this (I’ve never seen one before), but I think the closest comparison is a Cast iron pan: similar care (don’t leave it soaking in water, make sure it’s dry afterwards, oven-safe, etc). HOWEVER, my experience using this carbon steel pan was vastly superior. The smooth interior did a great job keeping food from sticking even on the first use. It cooked extremely well, and felt very well-made. It’s lighter in weight than a cast iron pan of similar size which I really liked (similar to a regular pan), and the handle was very comfortable (definitely wear an oven mitt when handling it while cooking though, it does get hot). It washed off beautifully afterwards with a little dish soap and water (picture is after its first use and cleaning). I like when I can put my pans in the dishwasher, this one you cannot, but that’s not something to downgrade the score for, as it’s inherent in the material. I would absolutely purchase more of these in the future in different sizes, it’s just as good as a non-stick pan, seems like it will last much longer, and seemingly safer than Teflon. Fantastic product, and can’t wait to use it more!

I get the best sear and it's pre-seasoned! I'm already noticing the nonstick layer is getting better after every use. With summer around the corner, I can't wait to use this on grill outside!!!
