I gave 1 star for the shape and size and another star for the roomy coffee bean cup. But to my utter disappointment the ground coffee did not deliver a tasty cup of joe. In fact the hub and I dumped it out and started over with another back up grinder. I returned it the next day not wanting to put that much effort into figuring out what settings to use.

One would think the Cuisinart name (and higher price tag) would be a pedigree of quality. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case with this grinder. I have tried different amounts of whole beans in the hopper, yet the slide dial seems to have no bearing on how long it grinds the beans. Sometimes it runs for 4-5 seconds before stopping, other times 15-20. Usually I have to push the button 2-3 times to get the desired amount of grounds. The grounds also get tightly compacted against the side of the grind chamber and make a big mess when you open it to brush them out. My last grinder was a cheap off-brand and it worked more efficiently than this.

The grinder is the 3rd one that I've had. The 1st one lasted about 5 yrs and then died. 2nd one about 6 or 7 yrs before finally quiting. So, why did I buy a 3rd? I love having fresh ground beans for my morning coffee and once you find the right grind (fine to course) and set it as well as the timing of how much grinds it's just a matter of tapping the grind bar and getting the perfect amount every time. Yes, it would be nice if they lasted forever, but nothing does and the price is very reasonable for what it does. My only real complaint is that it is very noisy. We call it the alarm. LOL So, 2 lost stars, one for longevity and one for noise. But, I recommend it.

I have a number of cuisinart products and expected nothing but top notch performance. My husband had told me the conical type of coffee grinder. But, sadly, this does not meet my expectations. Uneven grind, slow to complete, and too noisy compared to the last grinder I owned.

I love the ability to have so many setting to grind my beans. It also allows me to grind just for one cup up to a bunch, about 16 I think. Since I’m the only one drinking coffee I usually set it between 4-8 so I don’t have to ru it often but the beans are relatively freshly ground. I saw complaints about the machine causing a mess but I haven’t had any problems. I cup that receives the ground coffee should be snuggly coupled to the grinder, it sort of clicks when properly inserted. Grinding coffee is not quiet but I’m sure that is to be expected. Love my new grinder.

Second one as back up. My first was bought over a year ago, beyond warranty, so ordered 2nd in case I cannot purchase another one just like it. Have learned how to clean, take apart and to always, always, empty ground beans after each grinding. Otherwise you will pack it within and it will either overheat or the beans will not grind. Take care of it and it will take care of your beans!

This is the second grinder of this type we purchased over many years. We grind our own coffee daily and have found this Cuisinart brand to be a reliable workhorse with daily use. It is easy to use and clean, and allows adjustments for variable fineness of grinding. Recommend without reservation.

Love this burr mill. Replace an old coffee grinder. The old grinder always had grounds in multiple sizes and I felt like I had to use extra coffee to get a good cup. The burr mill has consistent sized grounds and produces a more consistent quality pot of coffee using fewer beans. Also love that I don't have to measure and I can just fill the hopper and get a few pots before I have to refill.

I really love this grinder. It is my second one of the same model. My previous one worked great but I accidently got water in it and shorted it out. I especially love that you have a wide selection of how fine to grind the beans and the selection for how may cups of coffee you want to make with the grinds. I prefer a very fine grind and strong coffee. I set the selector to 4 cups to make a 10 cup pot.

I just made the switch from buying primarily pre-ground coffee. I have another grinder, and it's okay, but not great, not very convenient. This is super-convenient. Plus, it's a burr mill which has advantages over other types, and you can google about the differences. I bought this one because of good recommendations, and it was quality without breaking the bank. I am happy about my choice.
