Excellent Source of Fiber!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kellogg's Raisin Bran cereal is my Family's all time favorite cereal. I feel good about buying it because it is an excellent source of Fiber which is so important for digestive health. One cup satisfies 20% of the daily requirement, all while tasting delicious. We all love the crunchy flakes of bran combined with sweet juicy raisins. As an added bonus, it has many vitamins and minerals. Personally I love this cereal at any time of the day, not just at breakfast. Sometimes I have it for lunch and at other times as a snack to tide me over until dinner!

Could be great if no sugar coating on raisons!

Raison Bran could be an excellent five-star product, but it is ruined by coating the raisons with sugar. Not only does it make it unhealthy, it actually ruins the taste. Raisons are naturally sweet so this cereal is unappetizing due to the intense sweetness created by adding sugar to the raisons. I have picked them out of the cereal also (just as the other reviewer stated) so I could enjoy eating the cereal. I absolutely agree with Daniel who posted the following... "Great if STOPPED coating "nature's candy" in sugar" This really would be a great "simple inside" cereal, if Kellogg's joined us in the 21st century, and stopped dusting "nature's candy" (raisins) in sugar, as the cereal is sweet enough without the added sugar. This shouldn't have a bearing on other cereals as the people who buy Raisin Bran are mostly health conscious, like me, and are not going to buy the sugary varieties. How do I know that it has just the right sweetness without the added sugar? I take the time to remove all the raisins, thoroughly rinsing (massaging) them in warm filtered water to remove the sugar, and then spread them out on some kitchen towel (placed in a large baking tray), moving them around to soak up the excess water, and then allow them to dry for around a couple hours. I then keep the raisins in an airtight container, which has the added advantage that I can add just the right amount for a single serving (I don't like the taste if there are too many raisins). I also weigh out 1.4 oz of the bran flakes for the perfect portion size, regardless of how big the flakes are.

Love Raisin Bran but…

I love eating Raisin Bran! It’s my go to cereal for myself, but…. Raisin Bran doesn’t have enough raisins in my opinion. I wish there was an EXTRA RAISIN RAISIN BRAN!!!! I’d stick up on those for sure! Please consider adding more raisins to raisin bran…

great tasting cereal

We have been eating Kelloggs Raisin Bran for years. It is the best raisin bran on the market. We like it the best because of the raisins being soft, tender and very tasty, not like other brands that you have to worry about breaking your teeth on the hard raisins.

Change in Inner Packaging Material Not Good

Have been enjoying this tasty, nutritious cereal for decades, but am disappointed with the recent change in inner-packaging material to a thin, flimsy plastic sack. This flimsy material makes it impossible to form a pouring spout to dispense the cereal into a bowl.

My favourite

Not a problem with taste, that's fine. But my wife brought home a family sized box of Raisin Bran that only I eat, I must say it was the first box that had only 15 raisins in the whole box. I dumped out the box after not getting a single raisin half way through the box, and counted the raisins did quality control miss this box or what. Please send me some raisins to put on my next box.

Great Taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely the biggest box of breakfast cereal that I've ever seen. Long lasting. Enough cereal to satisfy a large family. Great taste. Plenty of raisins throughout the entire box. Very fulfilling. A brand that I love and trust.

Kellogg's Loss of Market Share is Self-Fulfilling

I have been buying Kellogg's brand of Raisin Bran for over 45 years. I especially enjoyed the lightly sugared raisins - in the original quantity - and the flavor of the bran flakes. The honeymoon is finally over. In (especially) the last 5 years I have noticed a tremendous decrease of raisins. The bran flakes seem to have lost their appeal as well - sometimes being stale in both taste and texture. Combined with the MAJOR pricing increases (across multiple retailers), this is Very disappointing! My new endeavor is to buy a box of Post Raisin Bran, generic box from the 2 top retailers I routinely use (in NC), and a box of Trader Joe's entry of the same product. (I already know that I like the TJ product, just want to compare apples-to-apples in my evaluation). Not buying another Kellogg's RB - I already know the diminished value taken over time there... Let me know if you decide to add back the raisins (an absolute MUST), do better quality control, eliminate the lanolin, and reduce the cost to consumers... Sorry Kellogg - you've already lost this battle!

Kellogg's Raisin Bran Cereal

I definitely have preferences when it comes to cereal. While I'm not a health food nut, I do like a cereal that has some healthy benefits. Raisin Bran fits the bill because it has those delish bran flakes, and the slightly sweetened chewy raisins to fulfill my desire for fruit in my cereal. I don't add anything but milk to my bowl. I've even been known to get a cupful of Raisin Bran to eat sans milk, as a crunchy snack.
