Since there are now three adults living in one space, for the most part, this toaster has been an excellent upgrade from our old two-slice model. The design is a nice touch in our kitchen, with easy to use controls. The performance, however, is inconsistent. We have figured out how to best achieve our desired "toastiness" through patience and tweaking. When the browning is perfect, it is VERY perfect. And, because each of us has a different preference for our toast color, the tweaking becomes necessary. This toaster has been the closest to perfect in performance to date.

We've used anticipate this larger model to have the same excellent performance as our smaller model.

Settings are accurate with little time spent on trying to figure out how to toast my food without ruining it. It's a looker!

Just set up this toaster today. It is a good looking Appliance however, I can see where fingerprints and smudges are going to be a problem all over this toaster. I went through the set of procedures and then made my first two pieces of toast. I had the setting on seven or maximum browning and it took a really long time and unfortunately came out rather light. Haven't decided whether or not, I will be keeping this toaster yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to try a GE Brand of toaster. What a classy elegant 4 slice toaster! It is simple to use. The design is classy, clean, and functional. We love the variety of toast options that has 7 shades of doneness. We especially love how turning the knob "clicks" to the number selected to how much you want your toast done (lightly to dark). The slots are big enough for anything you want toasted. It toasts everything perfectly. This toaster was well thought out. It looks great on our countertop. It is easy to clean as well. We also got it at a great sales price. We would highly recommend this GE 4 slice toaster.

Not impressed at all! Way over priced! Performance poor! Not what expected! My other appliances that state they are stainless steel,” are just that! This toaster must be the “new cheapest” version! I am dealing with cancer and this is the least on my list of concerns. not

So far I like the toaster. My last two were Cuisinarts. They are more expensive but don't toast evenly. The GE maybe takes a little longer but I like that the bagels or rolls come out crisp on the outside but softer on the inside. The controls however are a little harder to turn.

Produces great toast but even after 8 months, the toaster emits the smell of burning plastic upon use. I make sure to clean out the crumb tray and have not toasted anything sticky, but the smell persists. I had a GE dishwasher that was also having this problem with the dry cycle, so I guess GE heating elements are incompatible with some part of the construction.

Like it. However the numbers for the darkness are on to see Also, the one it replaced showed how to place bagels in the toaster. That was helpful.

My fault - I should have checked to see if it took long slices of bread and thick pieces of bread. Not the fault of the toaster - it's all mine.
