It has a nice looking, smooth top with touch buttons to turn it on, select high or low fan, or adjust run time (always on, 3hr, 8hr, 12hr). In low fan mode, it's very quiet. On the high setting, I can hear it from across the room, but it's fan noise and not loud or distracting at all. If you have a hepa filter in the room, that will most likely be louder. As for operation, it's simple. The device twists apart and you drop one of the round glue discs of which 5 are included. Then, twist it back together and turn it on. Overall, it's the LED enhanced version of a tape fly trap. The LED's are a violet color and don't really bother you unless you look into the device; placing it above or below where you look is best. It's not to bright at night either, but does seem to attract the flying pests. We let it run for a few days and it did catch some annoying little flies and mosquitos that were around in the bathroom. Don't expect it to clear the room in an hour or two, it took a few days to really start collecting the pests. But, it does work as planned and we are very happy with the results. It also looks great - much better than the tape strips, and it will keep kids away from touching anything gross on those strips.

I have a collection of potted indoor plants near my backdoor that attract small flying insects from the backyard. This fan does a great job of catching anything that comes in. I love that there are no chemicals and the cord is long enough to make moving it convenient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were dealing with a constant swarm of gnats and fruit flies in the kitchen and were looking for a solution that was both safe and effective. The STEM Flying Insects Fan Trap totally delivered! Attraction Power: I was skeptical at first, but this little device really works! The UV light draws in all the tiny flying bugs—gnats, fruit flies, even the occasional mosquito—and the quiet fan pulls them into the trap before they know what hit them. Chemical-Free & Safe: One of the biggest wins for me is that it’s free of harsh chemicals and odors. It’s pet-friendly, family-safe, and perfect for kitchens or bedrooms where you don’t want any sprays or zappers. Portability: I love how compact and lightweight it is! We’ve easily moved it between the kitchen, bathroom, and even outdoors on the patio during dinner. It plugs in easily and doesn’t take up much space at all. Design & Noise Level: The unit is sleek and minimalistic—blends in without being an eyesore. Plus, it’s whisper quiet. You can barely tell it's on, which is great if you're running it overnight or using it in a quiet room. Ease of Use & Maintenance: Set-up was effortless—just plug it in and go. The trap area is simple to clean and replace, and there’s no mess or sticky residue like with some other traps. Value for Money: For the price, this little trap is a fantastic deal. It’s a reusable, low-maintenance solution that actually works, unlike other overpriced gimmicks. A great investment if you're tired of buzzing pests! If you're dealing with flying bugs and want a portable, safe, and effective solution, I highly recommend the STEM Flying Insects Fan Trap. It’s made a noticeable difference in just a few days!

It’s a people- and pet-friendly solution that actually works without harsh chemicals or insecticides. The dual technology — combining UV light and a quiet fan — effectively attracts and traps common household pests like mosquitoes, house flies, and fruit flies. The starter kit includes one device and five blue traps, which makes it easy to get started right out of the box. I placed it in the kitchen and immediately noticed fewer flies. It runs quietly, is mess-free, and looks sleek enough to blend into any room. I love that it’s safe, effective, and easy to use — just plug it in and let it do the work. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is amazing, i turn it on when i go to sleep the purple light helps attrack the flies, and other bugs to go inside the vent and the sticky pad at the bottom helps keep them from coming back out the opening! Its so light and small that its eady to move around your house with no issues!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t had this long enough to tell you if it’s better than the other stem products but what I can tell you off hand is that it’s way too big. I prefer the smaller more inconspicuous model that is plugged into the wall. It’s nice that it has a timer and it is well executed but I don’t like the size or that it has a long plug. Not the one for me! It would certainly catch a lot of bugs. I will appreciate that if I had a big big problem! Maybe this is best suited for a patio…
