I think if I left in the living room or near a plant it'll be more effective. It's portable and light. There's no insecticide only light and fan that pushes the bug down to the glue trap. The light isn't too bothersome and the fan isn't too loud.

This item really does not do what it is advertised for did not catch any flies or mosquitoes it only catches a few fruit flies and they were only attracted to it at night. I do not recommend this product. Also the sticky pad is hard to remove and can get stuck on hands.

I often buy fruit and usually leave it outside before putting it in the fridge, so there are often small flies flying around. But now, after placing the insect trap, I see far fewer of those small flies in my home.
