It didn't leave a coating on my hair. It left it big and bouncy. My hair kind of reminded me of the big bouncy curls in the '70s. The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is because it did relax my natural curls. I mean there was the upside that it left them big and bouncy but it relaxed them nonetheless. Would I buy it again? Most likely. Anytime I'm looking for big bouncy curls, I'd definitely repurchase!!! Let me also add I use this for 6 weeks prior to giving feedback. Because of the way it left my hair I did not have to straighten my hair I did not have to blow dry my hair it was able to blow dry naturally so there is that plus to it!
