GE indoor smoker is a great idea in theory, but falls short in practice. I received this indoor smoker just prior to the Super Bowl and was looking forward to smoking up some meats for the big game- that is until I had my first experience with chicken wings. I immediately set up the unit per the included instructions and prepared to cook. Problem 1: it takes absolutely forever to preheat. I expected a similar wait time as I have for my current outdoor electric smoker. IT IS NOT EVEN CLOSE! This thing takes in excess of 20 minutes or longer to reach temperature. Problem 2: This things is small! Don’t fall for the advertised hype- anyway you look at it, it is far too small-especially when compared to the amount of counter space this thing consumes. The output simply does not justify living with this behemoth on your counter. Be prepared to explore an appliance garage if you decide to allow this boss to move on. Problem 3: It ain’t smokeless! Just like uncle Jimmy, who claims to have kicked the habit, you will return to a kitchen absolutely reeking of smoke. In fact, both times I used my unit the smoke alarms went off- not to mention my house smelled of “ a rich blend of hardwoods” for many days after each attempt. How could so much smoke come from such a small combustion chamber? AND I assure you, I followed the instructions exactly! Problem 4: The room gets smokier than the food inside. Don’t get me wrong, the smoke flavor is there but only very subtly. Perhaps if one could space out the food better, maybe it could absorb some of the smoky flavor wafting from the sealed machine into your house. Problem 5: This thing is expensive! Even if it did the job as advertised it still costs several times more than some standard outdoor smokers. In conclusion, GE’s new indoor smoker may be good for people who like smoking their home throughly but not the small about of meat they can jam inside. Again, I love the idea especially for residents of apartments or those with restrictions on outdoor grills and smokers but for the average person who actually likes smoky food it simply does not get the job done. Perhaps skip the 1st generation in hopes the designers/ engineers make drastic improvements in the future. The real rating from me is 1.5 stars.

I purchased the profile indoor smoker because I live in a small rural town and have nowhere outside to put a pellet smoker and I can say since I’ve purchased it I have used it every day it is a versatile tool in the kitchen for cooking food with delicious smoked flavor the pulled pork I made was what sealed the deal 13 hour smoke came out perfect flavorful and juicy and I love the ease of use provided by the app and the fact that it gives maximum flavor while keeping cleanup and pellet use to a minimum everything about it is built solid and made for long lasting cooking I am a very happy customer.

I love the fact that you can cook and smoke your meats right in your own kitchen with real wood pellets and not have to worry about smoke in your the house. This smoker has a filter system that really works well keeping the smoke from escaping into the house. In addition, there are pre-programmed settings for so many meats including pork, beef, ribs and so much more. This smoker cooks well and smokes even better. Only downside you should have a dedicated circuit for this indoor smoker. Good news is we had one. If your looking for an absolutely amazing in door smoker that uses real wood pellets you found it. I would say that this smoker works just as well if not better than the outdoor smoker that I have. I would and have recommended this smoker to friends and family!

I have never smoked anything so I was a little intimidated by this however the easy to follow directions and recipes made it so easy to use. We ended up making lamb with the recipe in the book that turned out delicious. The smoker comes with some preset settings and the ability to customize your cooking settings. The temperature probe lets you know when your meat is cooked to your preference. I’m really enjoying this smoker and can’t wait to make my next dish.

We’ve only used this smoker once but it was dynamite! Only the slightest of smoke smell in the house (which smelled heavenly). We smoked a pork butt and made pulled pork out of it and it was delicious! It took a little longer than expected but it was worth it.

This smoker is fantastic! I was skeptical about the indoor smoker not smoking my house up, and am pleasantly surprised! We smoked wings one day and then ribs the following. They were delicious and we are hooked! This has made smoking meats super simple and effortless.

At first I was a bit leary of an indoor smoker, but this thing exceeded all my expectations I have been recommending it to all my family and friends after smoking ribs, wings, brisket, and turkey breast While I wish it was a little bit more affordable, there is no other reason why every apartment or house should have one There is no more odor than baking a cake in the oven, and after you add water and pellets and select what you're cooking, it smokes everything to perfection And it automatically keeps stuff warm until you're ready to eat ***** maybe ******

This is a FANTASTIC solution to those who can't have BBQs/smokers at their facility or Unit. It's also FANTASTIC for any home to have. I love to smoke, but the weather does get in the way, and with this, I could smoke every day! It's big enough for a big chicken, maybe a tiny turkey or breast, for sure. I have a tri-tip roast I'm putting in there next! It's a good 5 lbs. I think I'm going to use my stand, though, to get more airflow rather than flat on a grate. Easy to use, the app tells you everything, the meat held at temp while I finished up the rest of the meal. I can't wait to find a permanent home in my kitchen. Happy smoking!

The product does do what it claims no smoke is produced in the area that the appliances in, but there is a strong smell again no smoke but definitely a strong smell, also be aware that certain types of meat won’t absorb the smoky flavor as easily as others. Cleaning so far isn’t too bad just as long as you stay on top of it and clean after every use. There are several online videos that give you step-by-step instructions on several ways to use this unit ,but overall the GE Profile™ Smart Indoor Smoker is definitely a very good product For being the first of its kind I would definitely recommend this product.
