Customer reviews for Maxi-Cosi Pria Convertible Car Seat, Choose Color forComfy and Lightweight but Mind the Small Details
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed about the Pria car seat which I received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel—even before taking it out of the box—is that it is incredibly lightweight! When I picked up the box to bring it inside, I actually wondered if there was even a car seat inside. This is easily my favorite feature because it makes the seat so much easier to handle than the heavy, clunky models I’m used to. After opening the box, I was really impressed by the convertible, all-in-one design. Knowing this seat will grow with my daughter is a huge plus. The fabrics are noticeably soft and cozy, and the seat looks very well-padded. I felt confident that my daughter would be comfortable, especially during our long one-hour drives to the nearest grocery supercenter. Installation and adjustment were a bit of a mixed bag. Securing the seat into the car was straightforward, but I did struggle with the head-raise mechanism. To ensure the straps are positioned correctly at the child’s shoulders, you have to push the handle in and pull up at the same time. It’s quite stiff and difficult to do while holding a child; a "squeeze and pull" handle would be much more user-friendly. I also noticed a slightly annoying detail regarding the inserts: the head insert for younger children just pulls right out and isn’t attached to the body insert. When I removed the seat from the box, the headpiece fell out immediately. If I hadn't noticed, it could have easily been lost or thrown away with the packaging. I’d love to see a secure pocket or some Velcro to keep those pieces together. Despite those small design tweaks, the combination of the lightweight frame and the premium, cozy feel makes this a great choice for long-term use.
Sleek and easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product to try through Stellar Product Testing Panel. This Maxi Cosi Pria Convertible seat has been a very easy transition from our carrier seat. My baby is currently 6 months old and about 20 pounds. We had grown out of our carrier, so were in the market for a convertible seat to last us the next several years. Straight out of the box, it took us about 30 minutes to read about and install the seat. The latch hooks make it super easy to hook the bottom securely. The first time we hooked it in and tightened, I felt as if it was too loose. We unhooked, readjusted the incline of the seat slightly (still keeping lined up with the dictators given on the side of the seat) and tried again. The 2nd time we got a much tighter fit. The fabric is plush, high quality and adds to the sleek overall look of the seat. I can already tell this seat will be with us for the long haul as it is well made and will be super easy to transition and grow into well into the future! Oh, and the icing on the cake? Cup holders that come out with a quick twist and pull to throw in the dishwasher!
Okay car seat
Works great for smaller toddlers not bigger toddlers. Doesn’t tighten the straps easily and you have to really pull to make sure the harness part is actually where it’s supposed to be. Had to switch the car seat to a different vehicle because it wouldn’t sit still and kept moving around even after switching the anchor to the seatbelt method. Wouldn’t purchase again.
Great car seat for long term use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have been really happy with the Maxi Cosi Pria All in One. Lives up to its name
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Maxi Cosi Pria all-in-one Car Seat, first off is beautiful, one of the nicer looking car seats I’ve seen. Second, can tell that this car seat is so much more comfortable for my daughter than the one we have been using. Over all this looks and feels like a high quality car seat, easy to clean, easy to adjust the sizes, adjust the tilt, easy to install, and feels like it’s sturdy / built to last; everything you want in a car seat. This is a larger car seat, not compact at all. With that said, it’s very roomy (as in doesn’t feel like a tight narrow space she sits in) and gives my 1.5 year old daughter more comfort. My favorite thing about this is just seeing my daughter enjoying this seat more than the one we had which tells me this one she prefers. I did receive this car seat through Stellar Product Testing Panel to test and review.
Cozy and nice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Maxi Cosi Pria All in one car seat from Stellar. First impression was it looked luxurious and plush. The fabric stood out and looked soft and high end. Here’s where I have to take down 1 star. The installation was not the easiest, I have installed 4 different brand car seats before this and they were much easier and straight forward than this. Once you get through all the steps it is very secure but it was cumbersome to get there. With new innovative car seats and with the current technology we have now, I wish they kept busy parents in mind and paid more attention to that detail. Otherwise this is a great car seat, looks high end and cozy, and most importantly my daughter finds it comfortable. I totally recommend, just maybe YouTube installation to make things easier.
Great car seat but would love some updates
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This car seat is great, especially for the price point, but I would love to see some of the features updated. The installation was straight forward for rear facing using the LATCH anchors. Ensuring the seat was properly reclined was a breeze with the one touch recline button, and adjusting the headrest location to properly size the top of the shoulder straps was also quite easy - not rethreading straps into a different hole on the back of the seat. The one thing that wasn’t a breeze was tightening the LATCH straps. The base of the seat is so substantial that it got in the way of easily maneuvering the straps. I eventually got it tight, but it felt harder than it needs to be. Maybe consider adding the True Tension/True Lock system like other seats use on future models. The thing we were most excited about was the cup holders. So many car seats we have used have the cup holder attachments and they just get broken off or lost. The cup holders on this car seat are built in to the seat which makes it look nice and is definitely more sturdy for toddler use. The downsides of the built in cup holders would be that you can’t easily pop it off to clean out sticky mess. They are still fairly easy to clean by wiping though. The biggest let down of the cup holders though was a surprise…our daughter’s water bottles don’t fit in them. So they’re useless to us. I think a small baby bottle would fit fine, but the very popular brands such as Camelbak don’t fit. This was a huge disappointment. The other big disappointment was the weight limit and rear facing leg room on this seat. We have had many different car seat brands and the ones we like the most, use the most are the ones that have the higher weight and length limit. This seat is great for our 15 month old, but is almost pointless as a convertible seat for our 3.5 year old. The fabric is very soft, love it. The harness is very easy to loosen and tighten. The button to loosen the harness is in a much better spot than other car seats we have used, I was very happy with this. I didn’t have to dig around and hurt my fingers to try to loosen the strap each time, yet it is also still in a very safe spot for kids not to be able to access it while in the seat. Great design!
Safe comfortable and mom approved
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really happy with the Maxi-Cosi Pria All-in-One Car Seat overall. What I love most is that it grows with your child, so it feels like something you can truly rely on for a long time instead of constantly switching car seats. Installing it was easier than I expected, and adjusting it to fit my child felt straightforward. Once it was in, it felt very secure and solid, which is the most important thing for me as a mom. The fabric is soft and nicely cushioned, and my little one seems comfortable in it, even during longer car rides. There’s no fussing, which says a lot. My favorite part is how practical and well thought out the seat is. The only thing that made me pause a bit is the lighter color, just because I know how quickly things can get messy with kids. Other than that, it’s been a great experience and I’d definitely recommend it.
Maxi Cosi Pria All in One Convertible Car Seat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As the mom of 4 boys who range in age from 9 years to 8 months, I’ve used and installed quite a few car seats. I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 8-month-old is 21 lbs., so I was ready to transition him from a carrier model to this Maxi Cosi Pria All-in-One Convertible car seat. This is my first Maxi Cosi car seat that I’ve used, and I was very impressed with the quality. The fabrics feel soft and cozy. Although I love the way the fabric looks, if I were to purchase again, I would choose a darker color since my kiddos are prone to spilling. The padding around the buckle and shoulder straps seem comfortable, and the head support feels sturdy and substantial. I really appreciate that it can be used for the rest of the time my kiddo will need a car seat and booster seat. A downside for me is that it is a fairly wide seat. I have a divided bench in the second row of my SUV and I was previously able to have my infant carrier car seat/base and a slender forward facing seat in my second row, and the third bench seat was still able to easily fold or move forward for school pickup/drop off of my older boys who sit in the third row. With the Pria rear facing, the third second row seat doesn’t have that same mobility. Luckily my boys are agile climbers, so that’s not a deal breaker. That being said, I can still fit three across in my second row, which is a plus. The Pria was easy to install using the latch system; however, it did take me a longer than I expected to get it leveled to the correct line for my infant’s size. Overall, I’ll keep using this as his primary seat. I think it’s a high-quality seat that can safely be used for the rest of our car seat/booster seat years, and it is comfortable for my little one. Pros: comfortable, sturdy, quality fabrics that stayed much cleaner than I expected, can be used from infancy through booster stage, dual cup holders, easy to adjust the head supports and straps for buckling Cons: wider than other seats I was used to, lighter fabric color (although it does come in other colors), need to use a rolled towel to level the seat, which I had not done in the past
Fantastic all in one option for busy parents
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was chosen to receive the Maxi-Cosi All-in-One car seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We have been using a hand me down seat for several years, and I was eager to try out a different style with my 20-month old, who is about 24lb and on the shorter end of the spectrum at 28”. We also have a Maxi-Cosi high chair that we love, so I was looking forward to trying this out. I’m delighted to report we have so far been pleased with the seat overall! Things I’ve loved so far: my little guy is a big fan of a comfy ride! It was so easy to fit him properly compared to other seats. I love how smooth the belts are to loosen and tighten. I love that the fabric doesn’t slide off in random places! I can’t yet speak to how the silvery color will be in terms of keeping it clean, but at least it’s machine washable! Install was also pretty easy- we are using the LATCH option as he is rear-facing. The chest clip is also a simple one-click with your thumb. The cup holders are removable for cleaning but I wish they were wider- they don’t fit his usual water bottles. As a mom of two boys I truly appreciate a good all-in-one style, and so far I am really happy with how this one has been handling on the daily commute. Well done!
