Comfy and Lightweight but Mind the Small Details

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed about the Pria car seat which I received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel—even before taking it out of the box—is that it is incredibly lightweight! When I picked up the box to bring it inside, I actually wondered if there was even a car seat inside. This is easily my favorite feature because it makes the seat so much easier to handle than the heavy, clunky models I’m used to. After opening the box, I was really impressed by the convertible, all-in-one design. Knowing this seat will grow with my daughter is a huge plus. The fabrics are noticeably soft and cozy, and the seat looks very well-padded. I felt confident that my daughter would be comfortable, especially during our long one-hour drives to the nearest grocery supercenter. Installation and adjustment were a bit of a mixed bag. Securing the seat into the car was straightforward, but I did struggle with the head-raise mechanism. To ensure the straps are positioned correctly at the child’s shoulders, you have to push the handle in and pull up at the same time. It’s quite stiff and difficult to do while holding a child; a "squeeze and pull" handle would be much more user-friendly. I also noticed a slightly annoying detail regarding the inserts: the head insert for younger children just pulls right out and isn’t attached to the body insert. When I removed the seat from the box, the headpiece fell out immediately. If I hadn't noticed, it could have easily been lost or thrown away with the packaging. I’d love to see a secure pocket or some Velcro to keep those pieces together. Despite those small design tweaks, the combination of the lightweight frame and the premium, cozy feel makes this a great choice for long-term use.

Very plush and comfortable car seat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This car seat is very configurable and suitable for newborns and up. The fabric appears to be very comfortable and plush, and our 9 month old seemed to enjoy it more than the baby carrier that he's transitioning out of. It was fairly easy to install in my RAM mega cab's backseat in rear facing configuration, although it may not be suitable for small vehicles. There are many adjustments that can be made for comfort and height, so it will grow with your little one. The removable and washable cupholders are a nice touch as well. All in all, I would recommend this car seat if you're looking for an upgrade. I did receive this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel in return for my honest and unbiased review.

Easy to Ensure Proper Strap Tightness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this car seat. My daughter is 23 months old and rides rear-facing. My favorite thing about the Maxi Cosi Pria All-in-One Car Seat is how easy it is to tighten the straps when securing my daughter. I noticed the difference immediately on the first use. With our previous carseat, it was a struggle to pull the straps tight enough to pass the pinch test. I love the peace of mind that my daughter is as safe as possible. While I was able to install the carseat on my own, it did take effort to tighten the latch straps. However, this was not any different than other carseats we have used. The Maxi Cosi Pria carseat seems cushier due to the padding/fabric. The only thing I noticed is that the fabric is more sensitive to Velcro and other rough materials. After only a few weeks of use, there was pilling in the fabric where the sides of her boots/shoes rubbed.

Solid 10 Year All in One Car Seat Choice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Maxi Cosi Pria is a solid choice for an All-in-One, 10 year car seat. The seat supports rear facing up to 40lbs and 40ins and the booster mode goes up to 100lbs and 52ins. Install is simple with a QR code on the side taking you to Maxi Cosi’s site to view the manual and links to installation videos. A very nice feature on this car seat that caught my eye was removable cup holders. This allows for easy cleaning and they are dishwasher safe! The padding is comfortable and thick. There have been complaints from my 30lb 2 year old or 50lb 6 year old. Adjusting the straps for the size can be a bit difficult. The straps are not non-rethread meaning you have to remove the straps and thread them through the appropriate slots for the size child using the seat. This is the only reason I took 1 star away from this seat. If you are using this seat for 1 child, it is not a problem but will require you to uninstall the seat as the child grows and the straps need adjusting. Adjusting the recline and headrest were a breeze. Another notable love about this car seat is the weight. It is very light for an all-in-one. It is approved for airplanes and having a lightweight car seat to bring on the flight is a big plus. Overall a great pick to keep your little ones safe from birth. I received this car seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Maxi Cosi Pria All in One

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Maxi Cosi Pria All in One carseat as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Upon receiving it I thought the color of the seat and the design was very appealing. My child is 2.5 and is rear facing. I found the seat to be very easy to install and tighten using the LATCH system. I have been using this product for about two weeks and my child has been happy in the seat and seems comfortable. I have found that the straps tend to twist easily but they are fairly easy to untwist. Although it has not happened yet, with my child in the midst of potty training, accidents in the carseat are bound to happen and with the light colored fabric of the car seat that it will show stains easily.

Maxi Cosi Pria All in One Convertible Car Seat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Maxi Cosi Pria All in One Convertible Car Seat through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My overall impression of the car seat is that it looked very durable, and comfortable but very large in size. I was worried about how well it would fit in my compact SUV. One of the first things that I noticed was the padded cushions on the chest straps and the straps by the buckle at the bottom. This was a big thing for me because my little guy has super sensitive skin so the padding will help the straps not rub on his chest and neck area. I really enjoyed the all-in-one design and am excited that this is a car seat that can grow with my son. The fabric is SO soft and cozy. I didn't love the color of the fabric because it is light and it is already showing some small stains. The cupholders on both sides of the seat are really nice and easy to clean. I was able to put a toy in one side and his snack in the other. I was able to easy complete the rear facing install.. The size of the carseat in my car was a very tight fit! It was easy to tighten the belt and check the facing level lines. Once my child was it the seat, it was effortless to tighten the chest straps and adjust the head rest. It was also easy to push the button to losen the straps to get him out. All of the padding in the seat made my little guy very comfortable and he hates being in the car! Overall, the two things that I liked most about the seat was the soft, comfortable fabric and the variety of options to change the seat as my little guy gets bigger. The wide assortment of padding made me feel like my baby was safe and secure in the back. I would definitely recommend this car seat to others and feel it is best suited for a larger car. This seat reminded me of a lazy boy chair for my little man, who loved it!

Okay car seat

Works great for smaller toddlers not bigger toddlers. Doesn't tighten the straps easily and you have to really pull to make sure the harness part is actually where it's supposed to be. Had to switch the car seat to a different vehicle because it wouldn't sit still and kept moving around even after switching the anchor to the seatbelt method. Wouldn't purchase again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the Maxi Cosi Pria All in One Convertible Car Seat and were thrilled to test it through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We are just about ready to convert to an all-in-lone style car seat from our infant seat as our little one is getting a bit heavy to be transporting while still secured in the car seat. We currently have a seat that connects to the stroller. Everything was already assembled upon opening the box. A cozy, well padded, modern design complete with two cup holders. It’s a neutral light gray color fit to compliment any car design. We’ve recently leased a Volkswagen Tiguan as our Subaru Outback is very high in mileage. The dealer convinced us we would be happier with this vehicle at this stage of our little one’s life bc it has a lot of leg room in the back seat area. Making it ideal for car seat installation and accessibility. We tested the car seat out on our kitchen floor first. It’s easy to remove the infant inserts and to adjust the headrest as little one grows. It also has a reclining feature for optimal/safe positioning. After securing our 6 month old into the seat I realized how much more padding there is compared to our current infant seat. I’m slightly disappointed with our current seat as this extra padding would have been so much more ideal when our little one was an infant. Our little one seemed to be quite cozy sitting and playing with his crinkle book. He tends to fuss initially when we secure him in our current infant seat. I’ve often wondered if he’s uncomfortable. Not a peep while he was secured in the Maxi Cozi Pria! We then installed the seat in our Volkswagen. It didn’t take long. The most difficult part, while front facing, was latching to the car anchors. It just required a little bit of my weight in the seat for the clips to latch securely. My husband says it would be nice to have another inch or two to in the strap to work with but then I assume that would require a way to tighten the strap which would make it unsafe. There was plenty of leg room and our little one was easy to tend to. Rear facing on the other hand was not as ideal as it took up much more space once reclined, which require the front passenger seat to be pushed up. It left very little leg room for the front passenger. I’m not sure an adult would have been comfortable sitting in the front seat. So overall, installation is simple, but it’s too bulky of a seat if you intend on having a front passenger. We like how the cup holders are removable for easy cleaning. We like how cozy and padded the seat is. Which is a slight compromise I suppose compared to our current seat as ours is easier to wipe clean compared to the Maxi Cozi Pria that has softer fabric (which in turn is more absorbing….not good for those spit ups and blow outs!). If I were to use the Maxi Cozi Pria I’d probably try to use a seat liner. Overall I think we would rate it 3 out of 5, mostly bc of the space it takes up when rear facing. Front facing is fine in our Volkswagen. It’s a tighter fit, but still do-able, in our Subaru. 5 out of 5 on easy installation, coziness/padding/safety, and overall color/look. 3 out of 5 for bulky design.

Wanted to love but fell short

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom of five, with #6 on the way, I am no stranger to car seats. I wanted to love this one, but it fell short in a few areas. Pros: -Love that it’s made in the USA! I try to choose USA made products when possible, so this was a huge win for me. -Once positioned properly, my ten month old was very comfortable and happy in her seat. -Appears very sturdy and safe, and my husband was able to get it very snuggly fastened. That said, here is where it fell short for our family: Cons: -We drive a Nissan NV passenger van, and had to try the seat in a few different seats before deciding it needed to be in the second row behind the center counsel. It is SUCH a huge car seat, that it really couldn’t be behind another seat without pushing into it, which didn’t allow for a reclined enough position for our baby. That may not be an issue for some people, but as we have multiple other kids in car seats, we noticed the extra space this car seat takes. -Other similar car seats we’ve used all have had the bubble level on the side so you can see if the seat is level by where the bubble is. This car seat has a decal sticker with lines marks to indicate levelness, which isn’t as convenient. -When rear facing the straps are positioned such that you really have to finagle to get them tight enough. The fabric is moveable to access straps so my husband had to move back some fabric to get the tight enough. When he had it tight enough he really had to fight to get the fabric back in place. Not undoable, but again more cumbersome than other car seats we’ve used. -Finally, the chest clip doesn’t seem as sturdy as other seats. It shouldn’t be an issue because when kids are in the car it would be clipped, but if my four year old got it in her mind to bend it, it’s a softer plastic that could be twisted around. Again that shouldn’t happen, but you never know with kids! In short, we’ll keep using this car seat because our baby is happy and safe in it, but we wouldn’t invest in a second. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Bummed about quality

Maxi cosi has been our go to for our children over the past years. We had the pria 85 for two children and absolutely loved it. With our 3rd child, since the pria 85 is no longer an option we went with the all in one. I don't know what it is, but the quality is substantially different. I truly googled if we had gotten a knock off car seat because everything about this car seat is so lacking in quality and just comparatively for a lack of better word, seems cheap. We are super bummed because we really loved the pria for our other children and purchased not expecting there to be such a difference in quality.
