I was really excited when I found this microwave because it's been really hard to find a in-kind replacement for our current microwave but unfortunately, the product I received did not match the specifications on the website. The appearance was different and the most frustrating was that the product dimensions were incorrect from what was advertised.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This GE microwave oven has Good basic functions and operation. Does almost everything I need from a microwave, but do miss the "soften butter" operation a previous GE had. Also, I would be willing to pay a bit more if this model also came with the options to get upgraded interior materials (like stainless steel, or porcelain), otherwise it is a very rugged and great unit.

We found the controls not user friendly. There were too many steps to accomplish the simplest tasks. For example if you press 20 sec to heat something it gives you a food message. I think you then have to choose power level then start. Too many steps for every action.

Our 8 year old GE microwave failed last night. Searching for the old model number, this model showed up with similar features. Slightly deeper in size but fits in our cabinet fine. Controls are the same as the old unit but rearranged slightly. The only negative issue pertains to illumination. The panel display and the internal light are much dimmer.

It works just fine, just seems cheaper than my old ge unit. The display is very dim and keypad seems thin and wavy. I’m just tired of the fact that almost everything I purchase lately seems to be of a lesser quality than the unit you’re replacing.

We like this microwave as it is compact yet has a higher wattage than similarly sized and priced units. It has intuitive controls and is easy to use and clean. We evaluated many microwaves and came back to this exact model as a replacement. It gets a lot of use at our house and has the features that we need most as well as a nice 1.6 cubic foot capacity.

This fast and powerful microwave replaces a similar model from probably 10-15 years ago (latch and power control was faulty)! I am happy with the design and simplicity of use. The magnetized side is useful for hanging things I need to have handy but I wish it was more textured because the magnets slide). I use it on a counter height table which makes it a bit hard to read the button labels which are way below eye level. I will probably add a red dot so I can easily differentiate the power ON and OFF buttons.

The microwave is exactly as we wanted. There are not many white microwaves available these days; but, GE had one. Very familiar as it was much like our previous microwave that simply aged out. Controls are easy to use & understand. Power level is perfect for our 2 person needs. Size is as needed. Thus far, we are very happy with our purchase.

I was looking for fixing or buying a new one to replace my 8-years old Frigidaire ffm 1611ls built-in microwave oven, which is not heating and broken recently. After a lot of looking up and studying, I am realize I might have to buy the original model in order to reuse the trim kit, which costs almost around 60% of microwave oven price. Repairing the broken one cost almost ~70% of new one price, which is also not good deal. I could not find any new built=in models that has the size matching the existing trim kit size until I look into this GCST16S1W1SS model from GE, which has competitive price and exact the same dimension I need. It fits existing trim perfect and works just fine!!! Thanks for compatible design!

My previous microwave was over 20 years old. But it finally gave up the ghost and passed away. I had to have one fast. I researched so many brands my head was spinning. So many familiar brands have gone away, but when I saw the GE model, I felt I could trust it. It is definitely a powerhouse. So far I am very pleased , Its very new and we are getting used to it. But feels solid, the controls are easy to understand. And it will do the job. The only suggestion so far is I wish the illumination on the control panel was brighter and the key pad should be illuminated.
