So far so good. I have a dog and my house gets messy. Many vacuums I've tried clog up easy with hair, or just don't have the suction and long life. I've only had this vacuum a couple months, but so far I am overall impressed and hopeful it lasts a long time. My only critique is the collection bin is too small in my opinion for the amount this vacuum picks up on the floor. I definitely think the capacity should be dramatically increased for the power and capabilities of this vacuum.

I really love this vacuum. It is my first Dyson and I can't believe the suction. I will admit it is heavy and I am 66 years old, but it is worth it to have the amazing suction. I have not used the attachments yet, so I can't comment on them. But it is very easy to empty the canister and I have not had a problem with it going everywhere. I hold it over my trashcan, push the button and it dumps out. I have two dogs, so lots of hair!

I just bought this vacuum, replacing a shop vac that some crafty men had made. As good as the crafty men were with their shop vac, it was bulky and heavy to drag around. I vacuumed with the shop vac the same day I bought this Dyson. I vacuumed again with the Dyson and couldn't believe the dirt the shop vac left behind. The shop vac sucks, but doesn't suck as hard as the Dyson. I hate vacuuming with the shop vac; I still hate vacuuming, I just hate it less now.

I have had three Dysons in the past. I think this one has the best suction of all. I read many of the reviews that discussed how hard this was to push, especially on carpeted areas. I did not find this to be true for me. I'm a senior citizen who recently had knee replacement, and I had no difficulties vacuuming my carpets. I have a very large dog, and the amount of dog hair it picked up was astonishing. I'm so very happy I bought this vacuum when it was on sale.

The whole thing is made in such a way as to barely work properly. Getting it to stand upright is a major chore. Make sure you don't lean on it in the least while trying to wind the cord up on the back, or else you'll end up on the floor yourself. In strange counterpoint, when vacuuming, it's hard to move even after making adjustments. The canister will dump dirt all over your floor if you're not careful as well... one tiny two inch piece of plastic on the inside would fix this, but no such luck. Using the attachments is extremely difficult and wonky as if they never intended you to use them. Now I'm left wondering what i should buy to supplement this lack of functionality. I wish I could have tried it first. I immediately felt like this was a downgrade upon use, which surprised me because of the brand name.

I love the Dyson vacuum. Suction is amazing. The tools allow you reach curtains, coaches, under beds, and trim with ease. I have mostly hardwood floors, it has a setting for that and does an amazing job. It doesn't spit dirt back at you. I have two rooms with carpet and it cleaned the wonderfully.

This is my 3rd purchase, but my first was good and lasted only three years not after that the other two last for less than 6 months as the bottom piece keeps disconnecting and breaking off which is really frustrating so I will not be buying this again as the quality has dimished and cost too much to break easily,

I love the suction power of this machine and how much dirt and hair it pulls out of the carpet. It's awesome. The problem is that I get an unintentional workout every single time I use it. I'm not out of shape at all. It's just that hard to push. My old Dyson stopped working after several years, so I bought the same type of vacuum. I'm not sure why they decided to make it so difficult to vacuum carpet. It's ridiculous. I don't recommend this vacuum to anyone who doesn't want a work out when they vacuum carpet.

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, this is by far the best vacuum I've ever used. I can feel the suction using it on my hardwood floors. It picks up wonderfully on my carpets and even gets things out of the grout on my tile floors! If you have pets, this vacuum is worth every penny spent. Take good care of it and it'll last a good 15-20 years!

Easy to clean out traps, bends and jams. Bought a DC28 in 2011--it lasted 10 years. Replaced with a temporary that turned to permanent because the kids liked it better--2 B!$$e11's and 4 years later the kids are grown and gone (empty nest is overrated) I am GLAD to have another Dyson. Preferred the DC28 to the ball--then and now, but the 28 is not available.
