I have only had it plugged in for a short time, but it seems to work as well as other brands that I have tried. It catches some fruit flies and months, occasionally larger insects. The down side is that the pad sometimes fills up quickly depending on the season. I find refills not very cost effective, therefore I don't know how often I would purchase them.

It does a good job to catch insects around my kitchen, and I don't have to worry about my pets being around any chemicals. The flies were instantly attracted to it and they stuck to the pad without any chance of escaping. The blue light is light enough to use as a nightlight but dim enough to not leave a room too bright.

I am now trying he stem light trap and so far so good. It is easy to set up and has been working better than the fly paper (and not as messy). It is a bit pricey for the start up, time will tell if the extra cost is worth it (not sure how often I will have to change the inserts yet). But so far it's more attractive and easier to set up.
