ION Audio HydroGroove Floating Party Speaker with Lights would have been a BLAST to have during my college days. Floating down the Guadalupe River down in New Braunfels Texas. Great times!! We would have to improvise and make our own water resistant radios out of old coolers and marine speakers. ION Audio was genius with this design. I can see this being very popular with college kids and families with backyard pools. I really enjoy mine. I currently use it every time I head to the coast and spend the weekends on the Texas Coast. With no fear of my speaker getting ruined i just turn it on, slap on some country music and let it play. The run times are pretty good. I enjoy blaring my music super loud, so my run times are a lot less than advertised but still good enough for an afternoon at the pool. The 10 light modes makes it even more fun especially at subset or after dark. Big hit with the kids adults and pets alike hahah Great sound with the side facing tweeters and good bass from the top bass sub. All in all, an exceptionally well made product at a good price. Thanks to ION Audio for allowing me to test out this speaker at no cost to me and look forward to testing out your other products!! Keep innovating and making good quality products that we NEED.

Wow oh wow. Compared to my JBL you could not tell the difference. The sound quality is GREAT. I would recommend for any party even on water. It floats and is not too heavy. Only charged it once and have not had to recharge again yet.

Solid sound, waterproof but more than a few drops on top and the sound quickly distorts. The lights are nice for our hot tub. The app worked once and would never connect again after reinstalling and trying many times. We got it on a great sale and are happy with the Bluetooth range. The battery life isn't great. I suppose the lights might contribute to that.

Used it in the rain worked great. battery lasted well over 10 hours. Would buy again

This little pool speaker is awesome. It’s very heavy duty feel in construction. It puts out some cool lighting in your pool and can really bring the life to your party! And has a cool little carabiner to attach to a rope if you are tubing in a river or lake

I kept putting off getting this, and now it's finally on sale. I rushed out and grabbed it. I saw another lady standing in front of them trying to decide, when I grabbed mine. My pool is still too cold to get in, but I have it all ready to toss in when I get ready to get in. My grandson won't have to use his ear plugs.

This floating speaker is perfect for pool parties, outdoor gatherings and vacations. I have a 10‘ x 10‘ swimming pool inflatable and this speaker makes it a perfect party atmosphere. The sound quality is surprisingly powerful for its size and the colorful led lighting adds a fun atmosphere. The waterproof design provides piece of mind around water while the battery life lasts long enough for extended use. Bluetooth pairing was quick and reliable. Overall it is a versatile and very entertaining portable speaker.

Rugged waterproof speaker. The speaker has a subwoofer in the middle that looks like a honeycomb. If just a FEW DROPS OF WATER cover the holes in the honeycomb then the volume gets diminished by like 50%. The speaker doesn't get damaged, but its a nuisance to clear the liquid sound blockage. The box says the battery lasts 10hrs but it only lasts 3hrs for me when I connected the Bluetooth speaker. Finally, the lights dont really light up the pool but its great for finding the speaker in the dark!

Was on sale for $50, returned it cause its not loud enough for a hot tub, for a pool/river/lake yeah sure its fine, at $80 there might be better options out there unless you want it to use for the lights at night. The rubber and plastic actually feels rugged and well made in your hands. The sound was pretty loud at max volume with not much distortion on vocals even when watching videos. The lighting is cool, you wont notice it much during the day but if you are using it at night or indoors with the lights off it adds a cool factor to the water, and the dancing effect on the sub looks nice even during the day. Especially if you have kids or use it at night it's a cool effect for the price. However I returned it, I ran into two issues that make it unusable for me. First is a massive issue with the firmware. The app kept bugging me to update it so I did. I am into tech and overclocking so I know how firmware works, and it was a disaster. I had it plugged into the charger with my phone right next to it and 20 minutes later it was still stuck at 0%. The app crashed and then wouldn't connect back to the device. I tried all the troubleshooting and even asked the AI on their own website and it basically told me it was bricked. There is no reset button, no pinhole, and no way to reset this thing manually. The AI told me it has limited info because the device is so new the app doesn't even fully support it yet. If your firmware fails you just have to return it to the store. The second issue is that it is just not loud enough for a hot tub. The moment I turned the jets on it just wasn't loud enough anymore. It would work for about 5 seconds until enough water splashed on top to submerge the main speaker and then it just sounded muffled like you were standing outside the doorway of a club. You can't really hear voices in music and youtube videos or audiobooks might as well been muted. The only way it works is if you play crazy bass to blast the water off or if you flip it over every 10 seconds to pour the water off. At that point you might as well just get a bigger speaker that isn't waterproof and set it to the side. If you are getting this for a pool or to use in a lake/river sure its fine, if it will be used at night the lights are a huge bonus and kids will love the dancing water effect, but if its for a hot tub or its going to be in a loud area you likely will have a hard time hearing sound once enough water covers the top main speaker....then theres the issue with the firmware that I find wild, like how are you going to have firmware updates over Bluetooth and have no way to flash it if it fails. It was cool turning off the lights in the basement and having the Hydro spinning around the tub putting on a show while blasting EDM, but most of the time I am listening to an audiobook/podcast/video for 30 to 40 mins and it just doesnt work for that when the jets are on.

The speaker is decent but the light is terrible. I bought this thinking it would provide some light in my pool but even in the pitch black, you can barely see the underwater light. It might be already just for the speaker function but if you have any interest in the light, don’t buy this.
