It felt amazing the first few nights of sleeping on the bed. I was excited! Unfortunately after sleeping on the mattress for a week and a half or so, I developed bad lower lumbar pain. I've never experienced it before. Always had a strong back and I exercise regularly. Something is wrong. I'm a big man. 6'0" 205. I think this mattress is only suitable to lighter individuals. I'm sad about it. This mattress had me thrilled.

I have spinal stenosis and scoliosis and arthritic bone spurs in my spine. I have had 13 years of trying every kind of mattress on the market and NONE worked. I would have cramps during the night and just generally hurting and never having a good night's sleep. The first night on my Purple mattress I slept 5 1/2 hours straight...usually I would wake up every hour or two all night long and wake up so tired. Now I wake up refreshed and ready to go. Purple is amazing. Thank you.

My experience with the Purple mattress (as well as my spouse's) has been mixed. On the one hand my quality of sleep is great. I am not waking up in the middle of the night at all and sleep straight through. On the other hand I do not feel comfortable when I wake up. We both have been sore in the mornings and we feel it in different parts of the body- spine, hip, low back. This pain is perplexing to me since we've been sleeping well, and we've never experienced soreness on our other mattresses. It's been a few weeks now and not getting better.

I was a little worried buying the purple original because I saw some reviews that said "if you are a side sleeper who weighs less than 150lbs you probably need something softer like the Purple3." I'm around 120 and this mattress has worked great for me! The original purple was in our price range and my husband and I have not been disappointed!

If you are a back sleeper this mattress is perfect for you! As I toss and turn most nights being a bigger guy my shoulders and arms go numb if I'm on my side. I would hope to eventuallyupgrade to one of their hybrid mattresses in the future. Also they have fantastic customer support! Had a small warranty issue and was answered immediately by the staff at purple who corrected it fast!

I just finished my last payment on my queen purple that I bought a year ago to turn around and buy another mattress elsewhere. My husband and I wake up each morning aching and tired. We are both in the medical field and bought a purple because it was highly recommended by a family member. It was comfortable for 4 months and after that it literally turned into a nightmare to sleep on...the other sad part was that 100 days had passed...so we were stuck with it.. Well, here we are 1 year later and we are trashing it. We are so disappointed. Don't waste your money.

We recently bought a purple mattress for my son's twin bed. This is after having our original purple mattress for a couple years now. We love it. We have all purple pillows and love the light weight mattress pads. The sheets are comfortable, but are super stretchy which is nice. We recently bought the harmony pillow and absolutely love this pillow the most out of all the other pillows. We have the original 10lb pillow which is nice and sleeps cool. The other pillows are a bit soft for me and feel like they break down after a year or so. Otherwise, I highly recommend purple!

I have owned the mattress for about two months now. I experienced really bad back pain for the first week or so which worried me. After doing some research I discovered that this may occur and it may be my body readjusting to the new mattress(i previously owned a very soft mattress). After that initial week the pain fully disappeared. The mattress has been amazing and it was a great purchase. The mattress has a perfect firmness but very responsive when changing positions during the night. The customer service was great and the product arrived timely.

I love this mattress - the original purple. I'm pretty sure it's magic. My back and neck have never felt so nice after a good night's sleep. It's heavy so a pain to move around but definitely worth the effort of ordering, unboxing, and setting up. I highly recommend trying a purple. I'm a side sleeper with lower back and neck/shoulder issues (well not anymore).

Purple service was great, but the mattress just hasn't completely blown my mind, but my husband loves it! My hubs: ~200lbs, 6ft3, side sleeper. Me: ~150lbs, 5ft2, side/stomach sleeper. He's slept like a baby since day one. It took me at least a month to get used to, and even now, I still have some hip/lowerback pain on occasion (my body adjusts to it better when I'm home for long periods of time. Anytime I come back from a few weeks of work travel, I have to re-adjust :( ). I wanted it to be the game-changer I had hoped for, but I realize that might just not exist for me. It is definitely way better than the old mattress I had, though, so props for that!
