I did a lot of research on the Purple mattress. I read tons of positive and negative reviews and watched some Youtube videos to find out what real people thought. I've suffered with back pain, sciatica and plantar fasciitis for quite some time. I decided to order the Purple Mattress and platform base in October. We've been sleeping on it for about 6 weeks now. Is it firm? Not exactly. Is it soft? Not exactly. Is it for everyone? Apparently not as there are negative reviews. However, it's just right for both of us. Our expensive Sealy Posture King pillow top mattress was about 8 years old and had big indentations. I'd roll towards my husband at night in 'the hole' and wake up stiff and sore with headaches all the time. For the past 2 years, when I get out of bed, I sort of limp/hobble to the bathroom with painful stiff feet. After the 1st night of sleeping on the Purple mattress I realized that I got out of bed and walked normally. That doesn't happen every morning. It doesn't grant miracles, but it now happens more than not and that's a huge win. It's not totally motionless. If I'm awake and my husband is tossing and turning I'll feel something, but if I go to sleep before he does, I never have any idea when he went to bed. It doesn't disturb my sleep at all. With out pillow top, when he'd get in bed, I'd just about bounce out. We bought a queen with the platform base. I didn't buy the power base because I was worried we wouldn't like it and then be stuck with it, but if we ever buy another, it'll be a split king and definitely with the power base. I'd love to be able to raise my husband at night when he snores! The platform base really is as sturdy as they say it is. I know it doesn't look like much but it's engineered well and fast to setup. My kids enjoyed being able to jump on it! I also bought the mattress protector and sheets. Both were well worth the investment. The protector is high quality and stretchy. You don't notice it's on the bed. The sheets are the most awesomely stretchy softest sheets ever. I bought them before buying the mattress. They're so stretchy that they fit on my giant pillow top mattress sideways (because I managed to put the fitted sheet on wrong). Even sideways they stayed on. Normally my husband would somehow pull the fitted sheet off his side during the night. These sheets don't budge! I watched a youtube video on unpacking the mattress. A lot of people unrolled it upside down causing some extra work. It was really simple to unpack. The cutting tool had slipped down so we ended up dumping the mattress out of the sleeve instead of cutting it but that worked out just fine. We unrolled it right side up and sliced the vacuum wrap off the mattress and it pulled out easily from under it. Less than 10 minutes and it was all done. Thinking about buying? Try it! With 100 day guarantee, what do you have to lose? Peaceful sleep is waiting!

I love this new mattress and have recommended it to my cousin too. We both have FSHD, a type of muscular dystrophy, and our bodies get out of alignment and it is a struggle to move once in bed. This Purple mattress resolved that. I am more than satisfied with this purchase. Now I only need to save more money to buy more sheets, awesome too.

I have spinal stenosis and a herniated disck in my lower back. Heard someone say that this mattress is the best for back pain so i said why not. It's gotta work. Overall since I have had it..my back pain is minimal and feels like it's going away. I couldn't ask fo a better mattress! Thanks purple!

So far so good! It's better than our old spring mattress and I think it sleeps cooler than our previous memory foam mattress. There was some adjustments to be made with our pillows, since our bodies were supported differently, but once we got that squared away, it's been pretty nice!

Ordering went very smoothly and the mattress and sheets all arrived as communicated. The packaging is attractive and effective!! The sheets and the mattress are absolutely gorgeous. This company really has the right idea when it comes to presentation and aesthetics, that and their high aim for quality. Kudos!! For my wife and I, we love the bed. However, we both have a similar, singular issue, and that is we sometimes get caught up in the sheets, and the wool pad (not their product) easily bunches underneath. I particularly need cool and absorbing because I (a man) have frequent night sweats, so a wool pad does extremely well for me. Without the pad, I lay in a pool even in pajamas. We have narrowed it down to the top layer. We think it gives just a little too much perhaps. We will add straps to the wool pad to help it stay in place. The mattress arrived before the sheets so we initially used an older "cheaper" cotton set of sheets that pulled taut with little give. When compared to the sheets we purchased from Purple as well as another set of cotton jersey sheets, this "cheaper" set actually did better in that the sheets didn't bunch or gather underneath us in the give of the first layer. Hopefully this makes sense to folks. It has been difficult to get used to, and we have committed to finding the right set up BECAUSE this mattress is indeed wonderful.

I read and read and read some more before taking the plunge!. My queen with base is awesome!. Love the antigravity setting when reading at night. Only small issue is I didn't expect the bed to be so low to ground... I'm used to a tall mama bear bed!. Easy fix...i ordered risers. They'll be here this weekend.

I bought this because my wife wasn't sleeping well on a memory foam mattress or the sleep number mattress. She is sleeping a whole let better and so far is very happy with it. We needed a new mattress for our full size antique bed in the spare bedroom and we decided to try Purple before we bought one for our king size bed. If she stays happy with the Purple mattress we will definitely buy one for our king size bed. I gave it 4 stars because we wanted to give it more time sleeping on it and because it took almost a week longer to get the mattress than what Purple said it would take.

The mattress is fine but the pillows are not great, they feel like rubber and the sheets were horrible. First off the texture is like a parachute and when I washed them the purple dye from the purple brand tag bled onto the sheets themselves. Then when I wanted to return them Purple tried to tell me that I had to pay for shipping it back which would've cost as much as the refund itself. I would never buy anything from Purple again. Have it a 3 star because the mattress is mostly working out but everything else was overpriced trash.

I didn't think about the fact that the mattress would take the form of whatever was underneath it. I ordered a king size mattress and laid it over my existing box springs. This made the mattress feel too firm and lumpy. I thought, well let me put my old pillow top under it. This made the mattress too loosey goosey. Felt like my wife and I kept falling in the center. It almost felt like a strain to stay in position on our sides of the bet. Well then I got the bright idea to flip the pillow top because the underside is a flat yellow cushion like in a couch. This has been by far the best experience so far. Maybe Purple should send a thick roll of this foam with each mattress to take the place of box springs. Anyway, so far my experience has been a hassle and my wife says she doesn't feel anything any different than what our 14 year old pillow top has to offer. I'd say there is a difference but that I had to discover how to make it a comfortable experience, and that is not what is advertised. What kept this review from falling to one star is that the sheet set is pretty awesome. This is the first fitted king size sheet that I've owned that won't come off as I toss and turn through the night. I also ordered the plush pillows. I don't think they are worth the money. They just flatten out when I lay on them and feel just like my old flattened out cotton pillows. maybe the Purple pillows would have been better.

I relied on customer comments about quality and comfort when making my decision to purchase my new purple original mattress. Every step of the way I have been happy with the purple experience. The original mattress is maybe a little too firm for us but is still very comfortable. Be sure to get the purple sheets, you won't be sorry, they are wonderful. I hope this helps someone trying to decide about purple.
