It took longer than stated to get the mattress delivered, so we were out of town when it finally came. We received no communication about a shipping date until after the quoted time when it was supposed to have arrived. We had to have friends come and move it from our porch into our garage. I like the feel of the mattress, but I think the gel layer on the top should be thicker for heavier set people like myself. It feels to me like it does very little in the way of supporting and cushioning pressure points. I did eventually adjust to it. I have this bed as a back-up for me to sleep on when I am on call for work, so I don't wake up my wife in the middle of the night. I greatly prefer to sleep on my Serta iComfort mattress because it supports me better.

First, the mattress: It's the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. For most of my life I have had latex and tempurpedic mattresses, and neither is more comfortable than The Purple Mattress. I've always had lower back pain sleeping on tempurpedic mattresses regardless of how soft or firm they were, and the same was true for latex mattresses (though to a lesser extent). Now that I am enjoying my Purple Mattress I wake up with no pain at all, anywhere. It's really awesome and comes at a reasonable price. Then, there are the people who work at Purple. My move to my house was delayed by two months so I wasn't able to unpack the first Purple mattress I ordered. Purple took the mattress back at no cost and then resend me a new mattress two months later. Customer service is top notch! I also bought the Purple bamboo sheets, which I like a lot. Overall, awesome company, excellent product, and at a good price. What's not to like!

Overall I'm very pleased with the mattress and pillow. The pillow is my favorite part because I literally bought over 20 pillows in the past year trying to get a good one and none worked, the purple pillow works for me and I'm happy as can be. Thanks purple for a great nights sleep

I have a couple of herniated discs that used to cause me pain frequently when walking and yes when sleeping. From the first night since sleeping on my purple mattress I've noticed I am walking better and faster without the pain I used to have. I still have pain every now and then but things have greatly improved for me. I also sleep much better--often sleeping thru the entire night. Thanks purple.

My husband is a tummy sleeper and I am a side sleeper and we both have found ourselves waking up on our backs, which, prior to this mattress would have meant back pain. We both get a better, deeper sleep on this mattress. From night one we knew we didn't need the 100 day trial, we were sold! Our 7 year old begs every night to sleep with us and has been asking for a Purple for his birthday! Before we bought our Purple, his mattress was the most comfortable one in the house. We live our Purple and plan to buy one for our son and guest bedroom. We recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Well, I did my due diligence and in researching the perfect mattress to buy I referred to Consumer Reports. They gave Sleep Number the highest rating so we bought a sleep number. Unfortunately, we hated the Sleep Number and it didn't help with the pain in my hips. So we sent that back. Then we ordered our next mattress online and we liked it but it was not relieving the pressure points on my hips. So, at my husband's insistence we ordered a Purple mattress. Not only did we love the video explanation but my husband's engineer-mind kicked into gear and he thought there was a lot about the structure of Purple that just might help me sleep better at night. And he was right...I couldn't lay on my right side for more than 5 seconds without the pain screaming for me to switch positions. Now that we have the Purple I am sleeping much better (still experiencing some pain every now and then but nothing like before). And we all know if momma ain't happy, nobody's happy. I am grateful that the other two mattress companies had the 100 day trials so I could end up with a mattress that really helped me. I've also learned that Consumer Reports is not always right.

I'm giving a 3-star rating because of perceived mattress quality, delivery, and good customer service. However this mattress did not work for me at all. I purchased the Purple Hybrid with 2" Grid. I am 5'7", weigh around 125 lbs, and am primarily a back sleeper. The mattress felt too firm in places and too soft in others. When you see the little photo they show of a molded plastic piece simulating shoulders and hips pressing into the mattress, and the mattress pressing back upwards against your back - that is exactly what it felt like for me in a very unpleasant way. The mattress pushed against my upper back too much while letting my hips sink too low. This aggravated my lower back pain and made it worse. Not to mention I had a sore upper back from the mattress not accommodating the weight of my shoulders pressing downwards into it. Side sleeping was definitely not an option at all. The mattress was overall too firm while strangely still letting my hips sink in too much. Perhaps it is because I purchased the 2" grid, which is firmer. It was suggested that I try the 3" grid, but at that point the cost was exceeding my budget and I wasn't convinced that would solve the issues I was having. Also the mattress was already super heavy - didn't want to get something even heavier. Other reviewers mention being able to feel the grid - I didn't find this to be an issue and really didn't notice it at all. Overall seems like a quality product. Just did not support my back in the way I needed.

I've bought so many Purple products and they've all been incredible: Mattress (Queen Size): I've suffered back problems for awhile now and have gone through the trials of mattresses that have either been too hard or too soft, but Purple mattress has been AMAZING. It's given me the support I need without being as hard as a wooden board. The first night on my new mattress was difficult because it did feel like sleeping in a new bed, but ever since, my sleep has been restful and my usual aches have gone away. Platform Base: In a continuing effort of minimalism, I wanted to get rid of my box spring and had been research platform bases for awhile. The ones that won't break down after a year are incredibly expensive, take up so much space, and are difficult to move. I was so happy to see that Purple offered the exact thing I was looking for. Their platform base may not be the most stylish thing, but honestly, just get some nice sheets/pillows/blankets and maybe a fancy headboard and it's fine. More importantly, Purple's platform base comes at an amazing price, is incredibly durable, is super easy to set up, has been fantastic for much needed storage space, and can be easily disassembled for moving. It's perfect for me right now. Seat Cushion: WHAT A GEM. I'm a a poor office drone who has to sit for long periods of time and quite often I'd find myself being less productive because I'd always have to interrupt my work in order to try and work the kinks out of my back. The Royal Cushion has saved my life: it is SO comfortable and it's allowed me to simply hunker down and concentrate on the work I need to do without interruptions. My boss keeps trying to steal my cushion because she loves it so much. I'm going to get one for my office at home now as well. I've participated in Purple's Kickstarter campaign for their Purple pillows and I really look forward to them. So far, Purple has not let me down.

It was time for a new mattress. My back was starting to hurt every morning and I could feel myself sinking into the indented part of the mattress from sleeping on it for 4 years. It was a memory foam mattress but, as I said, I felt it was indented from my sleeping in the same spot. I did some research on many, many mattresses and settled on Purple. I was so excited to sleep on it !! My husband set it all up while I was at work (we also purchased the sheets, AMAZING AND SO SOFT!) so when I got home and sat on the Purple mattress, I immediately felt the firm, but softness to it. It's kinda hard to explain but it feels like it's cradling you, but not suffocating you. I slept amazing that night and my husband said he has never slept that well in his entire life! Such a great investment. You won't be disappointed !!

The mattress over all is great and comfortable. Upon arrival we watched the video we were sent to open the mattress and is said there would be a information packet and a cutter to open the mattress bag it comes in. We unzip the mattress bag and there is no packet or cutter, just a broken red sharpie. We the. had to manage to pull the bag off the mattress, once we finally get the mattress out we realized there was so information packet or cutter at all, the only thing that was in there was our shipping slip, the sharpie and the mattress. I'm guessing someone just messed up and put the wrong thing in the bag, but could've easily stained our new mattress. The mattress is wonderful and we are sleeping a lot better and would recommend.
