So I bought this for my girlfriend thinking it would be something only she'd enjoy (I'd never even heard of Purple). However, I foresee myself getting a mattress of my own in the near future. The only complaint we had was how friggin long FedEx took to deliver (10 days). Besides that it was a great experience. I absolutely suggest this bed to others. P.S. She states her chronic back pain has improved significantly!

I bought my Purple genuinely excited by the prospect of an amazing night's sleep. The ads and the science seemed to be speaking right to my needs. That said, you can imagine my supreme disappointment to be requesting a refund after less than a month. First, the good. Purple, as a company, is AMAZING!! They were a dream to deal with in requesting and receiving my refund. They absolutely held up their end of the bargain. 10 stars for their policies and customer service!! The bed, unfortunately, did not provide the restful nights I anticipated despite performing exactly as advertised. The purple gel layer was SOOOOO cool (to the touch and just in general). It felt so unusual in every sense of the word. Pressing my hands into it, I could feel it push back with support and then suddenly give as just the right amount of pressure caused it to flex around my fingers. I couldn't wait to sleep on it. The first few nights were...OK. I didn't sleep great, but they said I'd need time to adjust. I knew that any day my body would recognize the superior sleeping surface it was now being provided and my joint and muscle pains would melt away. After a few more nights, I was beginning to wonder what the problem was. I tossed and turned ALL night. I simply couldn't find a position that would allow me to stay asleep. Now, full disclosure, I'm a big guy. Large frame, about 280. I've had my previous mattress about 10 years. It's an inner spring with a pillow top and it's honestly given me some of the best nights of sleep I've ever had. It's just old and ready to be put to pasture or I wouldn't be in the market. After a few more nights on the Purple, I was able to pinpoint exactly the flaws in the design. First off, it's too thin. This was most apparent during "amorous" activities when I could feel the support platform under my knees with seemingly very little padding. I'm a big guy, so I can't fault them for not providing more foundation foam. I may simply be too large for the bed. The other issue, anyone of any size would likely experience. As I said before, the gel layer provides support until a certain threshold of force is applied. This is ostensibly to accommodate pressure points. The problem is when two connected body parts find themselves on opposite sides of that threshold. It was most notable in my shoulders and knees. My back, being part of the bulk of my body, would depress the gel beyond the crush threshold. My arms, however, would not. This led to my body and arms being supported to two different degrees at two completely different levels. The pressure under my arms was forcing them upward, while the gel under my torso gave way and relaxed. This caused significant shoulder pain during the nights I slept on my back or stomach. Similarly, my thighs were heavy enough to pass the crush threshold, but my calls were not. This created a similar pressure differential right at my knees when I slept on my side, causing knee pain which lasted throughout the day. These two conditions (along with similar factors elsewhere) meant that there was no single position that wouldn't cause me discomfort. Thus, I tossed and turned all night and never got good sleep. It even effected my performance at work to the point I had to sleep on the couch until our new mattress arrived. I don't mean this to seem negative. The bed performed according to spec. That spec just didn't seem to be designed with larger guys in mind. Great company. High quality product. Ultimately just not for me.

After almost ten years with the same mattress, my back couldn't take it anymore. We decided to try Purple, and I think it's the best purchase I've made in years. The first morning after sleeping on it my pain was pretty much non-existant! My husband and I have taken to watching TV in bed now because it's so comfortable, and it's silly, but I look forward to going to sleep. I sleep on my stomach, and my husband sleeps on his side, and both of us agree it's the most comfortable mattress we've ever had. The only thing that I would say to prepare for is that the full size needs queen size sheets because of the height of the mattress. I'd definitely purchase again!

We love this mattress. My wife has RA. No mattress was every good enough. I did all my research. On the first day she got relief from he joints after suffering for years .i loved it myself. The technology behind is wonderful. We are purple people for life .

I thought for sure the mattress would be overrated but it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable and actually does keep you cool! I was used to getting really hot at night but not since we got the purple mattress. On the other hand, my husband purchased one purple pillow and after a few nights stopped using it.

We have been sleeping on a TempurPedic mattress for about 15 years and decided to try Purple. It's comfortable and pressure-relieving for my back problems, so we love it in that regard! Only drawback is that it's pretty bouncy. (I'm not sure if it's only bouncy compared to the TempurPedic that molds to your body or not.) For the first couple of nights, I was worried I'd roll right out of bed because the mattress sprang up as soon as I moved. Now that I'm used to it, we like it a lot.

The purple mattress is by far the most comfortable bed I have slept on to date. As the title states I will never go back to a spring mattress. The support that purple gives is second to none. I have back issues and so far purple is the only bed I have slept on that allows me to sleep the entire night without waking up from back pain. The other important part that purple offers is that I sleep cooler which is a big plus. When I get to hot I can not sleep. I am yet to have a night where I have gotten to hot!! All I can say to wrap this up is keep doing what you are doing purple this mattress is awesome!!!!

We have an old saying.. The Bed Monster will get you! If you get into a comfortable bed then the Bed Monster will not let you out! You will get stuck there in slumber.. and that is what you have created at Purple! If I get within a couple of feet of that bed.. the Bed Monster grabs me and off to sleep I go! Thank you!

Prior to purchasing the Purple mattress I had a very strong back pain that made it uncomfortable to walk and very difficult to climb stairs. I was convinced it had to do with my old mattress. With the Purple mattress I was back to normal in about a week . Very happy with our Purple mattress.

We have always bought top-of-line mattresses that were just the right amount of softness. We were not sure a rolled up mattress in a bag would meet our needs. AND... we were delighted to have it easily set up and in use. Great comfort and just right softness. It was also several inches thinner than our old mattress which makes it easier to get in and out of bed... nice extra advantage for us. The mattress protector and sheets are terrific... soft and silky feeling. We haven't switched from our Down pillows to our new Purple pillows... yet. THANK YOU!
