In all honesty, the mattress itself deserves the full 5 stars. But I bought the mattress protector from purple to protect my amazing mattress AND it takes it down a notch. My mattress will forever be clean from my pets which seem to think my bed is also theirs, but my bed isn't as cool as it could be without the protection. Bit of a bummer. Back to the positives - I had back surgery just prior to getting this mattress and it has been a real dream with recovery!!

I am a sleeper and a dreamer. If I can't remember my dreams or I have boring dreams, it affects my day - Not as much as it used to but it still affects them in some little way. I have been wanting a purple for a while, ever since I saw the first egg drop test on Youtube. I am so excited to actually have one finally. I have never felt so comfortable on my back and I know from experience that most of my lucid dreams happen on my back. I had one within two days of sleeping on the new mattress. All my aches and pains that I used to have, sleeping on my back are gone with this mattress, I can feel the difference. As an added plus, my cats love it too and often I have to move them several times before they will let me crawl in bed.

I don't know that I'll ever go back to a standard innerspring mattress! While I'm not sure how "cool" this sleeps (some mornings I'm drenched in sweat but I'm thinking that's more of an 'age' problem than a 'mattress' problem) I find that overall I seem to be getting 'better' sleep more consistently.

I suffer from OA, spent thousands on finding the right mattress. The Purple is perfect been on it for nearly a year. I had forgotten what it was like to sleep-in on weekends! It's never too hot or cold. It's always 'Just right.' I wanted to upgrade from queen size to king and customer service and process was like working with family;the good kinds! I recommend this mattress to everyone I know searching for the perfect mattress. Can't wait for my pillow to come!

I'm still a little on the fence about this mattress. Our previous one was just a traditional coil type with a pretty soft memory foam top so this is definitely a change. My husband and I have both been sleeping well but it IS different. Can't really snuggle into a warm spot with the purple...and as soon as you turn over the warm spot is gone! As I'm usually a pretty hot sleeper this isn't a bad thing..although on the weekends if I'm being lazy and laying in bed later, it's a little sad..maybe I'll feel differently if we throw a thick down comforter on top! I think probably the best part about this bed is that it would satisfy most people's desires for a soft OR firm bed...it's both...which is kind of strange. Gotta try it to understand it!

The customer service was excellent ... but the mattress is just way too soft. I've had the mattress a year now - sadly, I'm out of warranty period so I can't return it - and my back / hips have never felt worse. I've had my back go "out" at least 3 times in the past year ... a problem I thought I had resolved, until I bought a Purple. I am going to get rid of / donate / burn / dispose of the thing somehow and go back to a traditional REAL mattress with some support. This mattress may be great for some people - my boyfriend likes it, as do many people posting here - but it's NOT FOR ME. If you prefer firm support, I highly recommend something else. Anything else.

I received my Purple King Mattress in Oct 2017. I was very excited from the hype of new technology and a personal recommendation from a friend who had just purchased their Purple. I was so tired of my memory foam mattress consuming my body and forming a mold around me that was difficult to escape from - so this seemed like a great option. I will agree this mattress is constructed differently than any other I have researched and I applaud Purple for thinking outside of the box - that was enough for me to justify the expense. My experience: I'm 6', 230 lbs so a bit heavier than normal. I am primarily a side-sleeper (but lately I'm just a restless sleeper). The mattress did take some time to getting used to (as expected) so I kept holding on until my body and the mattress were acquainted. I think I did have some comfortable nights somewhere in this timeline but the experience kept evolving good to bad to good to bad. I made the mistake of waiting past my 100 day trial, thinking at least this is better than the memory foam! I put it out of my mind and went on with my life. Now nearly 1 1/2 years later I find myself back in the market for a new mattress, willing to give up on this investment after less than 2 years. I toss, turn, and wake all night long. I own a Fitbit which tracks my sleep patterns and the graphs are all over the place with very little deep-sleep recorded. I'm tired all the time and also tired of constant aches and pains that I didn't have before. As I am researching the internet for my next option I came across info about the new Purple 2, 3, & 4 with coils. I'm thinking I'm not the only one with a negative experience with Purple and this is why they are releasing softer options. My biggest complaint is while side-sleeping my arm seems to bottom-out past the comfort grid and my circulation gets cut off. Maybe this new technology would help with that problem? Unfortunately I am not willing to take another chance on Purple - even with the new technology. I'm writing this review for those considering a Purple. If you are a little heavier than normal and often sleep on your side - consider the Purple 2, 3, & 4. Maybe these will help? If not, keep you're eye on those 100 nights and be sure to return your mattress if not totally certain this is the mattress for you. Don't wait to return thinking things will all work out like I did. Sleeps cool. That was the main focus over every other factor. Bought it...It sleeps cool...Love it. Feels great. Not too firm. The support I feel, helps with the cooling, allowing air to move underneath you. You could say it is like a cooling rack of sorts. Not uncomfortable at all though as that might be interpretted. I wish it was actually purple though...That'd of been cool.

I'm a single person in the King size bed. I've owned it a year. Recently I've gotten a boyfriend, and it was then that I realized how sunk in my side mattress is compared to his (because no one slept on his side for a year). Cuddling, we called it the black hole, and found it uncomfortable! After a year, I'm considering getting a different mattress I'm really disappointed my mattress broke down this way.

My husband and I really are sleeping better and with less back pain than we have had in years. The purple topper is the best! I just love the feel of it. The Queen Purple is not so soft that you are sinking and being swallowed up by softness. The jelly-like PURPLE waffle topper is just cool and pliable and yet we still have the firm support of the foam below. The Queen Purple is a very reasonably priced mattress. We spent a considerable amount more on very firm name brand viscoelastic mattress that did not hold up very well to normal usage. We started having back pain (of course, some of this is related to normal aging of active people). After researching mattresses and back pain I discovered that a "medium firm" mattress is more conducive to spinal health than a very firm mattress. The PURPLE guarantee made us feel safe in making our purchase! We have had our mattress for over 100 days now and are very pleased with the purchase. No regrets here!
