Purple is weight sensitive I guess. From experience, if you're a healthy weight (190's - 130's) and average height 5'4' - 6'2", the bed will feel firm, yet soft at the same time; basically, it's soft where your body is heaviest (head, feet, torso, etc) while your limbs just sort of rest on the surface giving that firm feeling as well. However, if you're underweight (or just super sensitive), you might feel the grid. Or if you're heavier than most, you'll feel that it's more soft than firm which will make the bed feel weird at first and you'll have to sleep on it a few nights to adjust to it. Now if you're extremely heavy, then the bed will feel thin or nonexistent. This is what I gather so far with use from boyfriend and I. The bed is freaking great in my opinion, I feel in love the first night, and even more so when I had to wake up in the morning; and I have slightly severe scoliosis too, so A++ Purple. Boyfriend is much heavier than I, so it took him a few nights to warm up to it. So I'll give you guys 3/5 stars, since the bed isn't actually one size fits all as advertised, but you guys are still really awesome!

So here is a preliminary review right before my first night of rest on the Purple. I will be posting more reviews in the future... Upon un-boxing the mattress, I immediately noticed how thin it was. The first impression was that it should be much thicker like most mattresses. But as soon as my girlfriend and I laid on it, we understood why the Purple was constructed like that. It seriously has amazing balance for being so thin. Now when we tested it out, our initial reaction was exactly the same. We felt that it was really firm as we tried different sleeping positions. But we really liked the way it felt. Although at first it was firm, the patented materials really shined because we could feel all of our key body areas and pressure points being completely supported. It was very interesting because we've never felt anything like it. So afterwards, we began to completely rearrange our room whilst lounging and taking breaks; laying on the Purple and relaxing. Thought the day we laid on it a few more times and talked about things etc. Later in the evening we ran some errands, ate a nice dinner and returned home. At this point, we tried it out again but this time we applied our bedding; sheets, mattress cover, blankets etc. We really felt so comfortable and cozy on there. Now we did think it was a little on the firm side throughout the day, but once all of our bedding and pillows were there, it felt so great that the firmness wasn't even a thought anymore. It just felt "right." Again, a perfect balance. Not too soft, and not too firm. I believe the body just has to adjust to the combination of materials that are present within the mattress. So the truth so far is that one must try it out first and attempt to leave behind any initial qualms or concerns at first. The more you lay on it, the more the body will adjust. I had a certai opinion of it at the beginning of the day, but now, its indescribable. We are totally loving the mattress and my girlfriend just passed out. She usually is awake at this hour but for some reason, she's off to dream land somewhat earlier than usual. So it seems as if this is working out! I'm loving it so far and I am excited to go to sleep in a few moments. It was interesting having all these mixed opinions, then throughout the day/night developing an entirely new opinion. Quite frankly, I've never been so excited to sleep in my life. So for now, I'm headed to that Purple and sleeping the night away. It's so comfortable and I am really glad we made the choice to purchase it. So, there's pretty much my first review. Let's hope the coming weeks and months are positive with the Purple!

I absolutely LOVE my new PURPLE MATTRESS!!! I'm experiencing the best nights of sleep that I've had in a very long time. Both the ordering and shipping was fast and seemless. I really appreciate the added bonus of the very comfy PURPLE PILLOW, as well. I would definitely recommend!

Just got my first purple mattress. Before this i've always had spring mattress with a thick topper. Overall i'm very happy with the mattress for it's price point. It sleeps cool as advertised. It is firmer than i expected (i weigh around 160 and understand the heavier you are, the more you sink down. For me, i sink down on the top (purple) part of the mattress, but below that it's rather hard. Luckily i like a firm mattress but was expecting a little more give - so if you're looking for something to really sink into this may not be the mattress for you. Overall it seems to be great quality for the price and i have no regrets. I did buy the mattress cover from Purple which suggests it's the best option for a softer mattress - not cheap but i agree that the mattress is harder with a standard cotton cover.

After sleeping on a mattress that should've been retired years ago, this is like a dream. I immediately noticed resting more thoroughly and completely and waking up refreshed. I don't wake up feeling groggy or sluggish much any more! My girlfriend also agrees and says she sleeps better on it. She has a memory foam mattress that she's used to and it's not very supportive for her sleeping on her side or changing positions. This mattress is incredible how it molds AND changes position. You guys did an amazing job creating a very comfortable, yet supportive mattress that feels just right! My body thanks you!

I purchased my purple bed back in August. While I Love the mattress, Im sorry I got the full size! Its very small and short for a full size bed. But I definitely would buy a purple mattress again but a Queen would have suited me better! My daughter ordered it for me so I did not realize the 100 day warranty. The mattress is comfortable but I'm 5ft 5 and its not long enough! Their bed frames are excellent so easy to move my bed and clean under it, and Im 72 years old.

I couldn't lie on my other bed for more than ten minutes without feeling back and hip pain, i'd wake up countless times throughout the night but I'd go right back to sleep so I just thought it was an age thing (im 43). Every morning i'd wake up with hip and back pain. As a 12 year veteran massage therapist I consider my self to be an expert in pain management. I'm in great shape and really don't ever hurt (except after lying on my bed, and don't think i'm old at all). This bed was awesome! no more pain at all and I sleep throughout the night, I love it!

Him: 185 pounds Her: 145 pounds Both Side Sleepers He says it is the most comfortable bed he's tried (and we've tried a few) She feels like a train ran over her every morning and has chronic back and shoulder pain now. Limbs go numb at night. Tossing and turning all night. Haven't got any good sleep this month (we've been sleeping on the Purple for 30 days) About 1 week ago we put a memory foam topper on the bed. Now He isn't getting good sleep. And She does loose circulation in limbs, but still tosses and turns and can't get a good nights rest and has chronic back and shoulder pain. So, basically, the topper just makes it so both of us aren't getting adequate rest. We're going to return and try a new mattress. We're down to the last on our list. If it doesn't work for him, but it does for her, we'll return it and order a twin purple for him and a twin of whatever works for her. :P Not ideal, but better than both getting crappy sleep. Overall a great bed, extremely simple to put base together along with opening the bed. My only complaint, and not even a complaint because it truly had no effect on comfort would be you can feel the combs or squares from the material the bed is made out of. It doesn't take away from comfort, what so ever.

I work for UPS as a delivery driver. Needless to say I was in bad need of a comfortable mattress to get me through my long work days. I have been sleeping on the new Purple 2 mattress for 1 week now and it has been extremely uncomfortable to my shoulder. My arm falls asleep and wakes me up due to the pain. I have been very stiff when getting out of bed and that is very disappointing since I spent good money hoping for a good night sleep. I bought a different foam mattress with a cooling gel top for my spare room which only cost 200 and I can sleep on it and wake up pain free. I'm going to continue to try this purple mattress and hopefully it will get better but right now I'm thinking I'm better off physically and financially with a mattress like the one I have in my spare room. I am hoping if I adjust the level of my head and feet somehow then it will help with the shoulder pain. I would like to say the sheets are amazing and I like the base so I can adjust the level of my feet and head. I'm not real impressed with the "massage" feature. It just vibrates and is more annoying than enjoyable in my opinion.
