After triple bypass surgery, I slept in a recliner for 5 months but knew I should transition to a bed. My former mattress was very firm and uncomfortable.I have gradually transitioned. Have a lot of arthritis as well as sciatica but I have noticed that I am usually comfortable at night on the Purple mattress. Sometimes I am a bit stiff or sore in the AM but it quickly passes. I know that I do not move much at night so I imagine that accounts for the stiffness.

I purchased the Purple mattress due to extreme pain in both my hips while sleeping. I would wake up in tears because I was so tired and just wanted a restful nights sleep. On the very first night it was a 100% difference! I am so happy with my mattress I really cant describe it. Love love love my mattress and highly re commend it!

To me buying the Purple Mattress was kind of a leap of faith, it was as much as twice a expensive as some of its competitors, but reviews were overall good. I am a combat vet and i have back problems, and i specifically read a review from another combat vet who said this mattress basically cured his back problems. Well, the mattress was ok for about a year... then my side started sinking. I am 200- 215lbs and 6'2, so i am neither a giant fatty nor super dense, probably about normal proportionally, and the rubber where i sleep has lost ALL support and is now CAUSING back problems. The warranty is borderline fraudulent because when i finally thought "i should check the warranty" it says that the depression in the bed must sag at keast 1" without any weight- that isnt how the purple mattress works. The bed LOOKS flat, but when i lay anywhere else i only drop about an inch, whereas in the hole that i sleep in i drop probably 2- 2.5" and have no support at all. I also got the purple pillows, which imho suck, and the purple blanket, which we actualy returned. The best thing i got from purple were the sheets- they were quite good.

We had originally tried a Purple 2 at the State Fair of Texas last fall, and liked the bouncy feel and thought the softness we felt at the time would help us sleep better. However, the one we received, though somewhat bouncy, did not feel soft. We were a bit disappointed, because it was firmer than expected, and at first we thought we would not be able to get used to it. However, we did get used to it, and it "seems" to have helped my hubby's shoulder pain. We will wait to give full confirmation of this, when cooler and/or wetter weather comes in the fall, because this affects our arthritis pain. We are seniors and looking for relief when we sleep, not more pain.

My biggest disappointment is that this bed is too cold. It gives me cramps and chills. By the time I am warmed up it is 2 hours later and then I am too warm from the very warm blanket I put on. My next big disappointment is that the bed is too soft. I thought the soft non egg breaking technology would be good for my side sleeping back. But it is so soft that the pressure relayed too my ribs makes them sore and the blood circulation becomes restricted. Proven by my arms falling asleep before I do. Too fix it I have to turn over very often. To be clear I am 40, but in descent shape at 5'9" and 160 lbs. Also my smaller wife is also feeling the same. Maybe heavier clients would more appreciate this design. My prior mattress was a very soft latex foam mattress and it was best ever for 3 years. Then the fatigued stiffness reduction in it was too much and it was getting like a hammock. The warrantee is a relaxed flatness and not a lost stiffness. So no warrantee help. So I was hopeful in the purple mattress to have less stiffness loss. And I know memory foam is too hot. So the polymer seamed interesting to me as a rubber engineer. I asked my materials engineer about the compound and their take was interesting. But the performance for this application turned out to not be optimal. And I really need to return this matress and get another foam one.

It's all the best things about a memory foam mattress without the downsides (heat trapping, loosing shape, that quicksand feeling of not being able to get out of bed). I LOVE it. It has significant reduced my lower back pain, and my body got used to it immediately.

I had a 10 year old firm mattress and thought it might be time to upgrade. I purchased a purple and was hoping to have a smooth transition. I usually sleep on my back but now I roll so much my spouse gets annoyed. My arms go to sleep and never did before. I even purchased the perfect pillow after 15 days to see if that would help. It did make things slightly better but I still spend 3 nights a week on my sofa until I can find out what to do.

My wife has back problems. We prefer a mattress on the firm side. After reading reviews many people said this is a firm mattress with good support. When we first purchased the purple mattress we really enjoyed it and slept well. After about 6 months the mattress has softened and it is too soft. Now she cannot sleep thru the night and is in pain when she wakes up. It is past the 100 day trial so I cannot return.

I am very happy with this mattress, it has been a super comfortable sleeping experience. This is the second one I have purchased, the first one for me and this one for my daughter. I would highly recommend to anyone who has back pain as these mattresses have helped our family with ours!

We love our mattress so much! My husband and I woke up with back pain every morning until we got our Purple mattress. Now we NEVER wake up with back pain anymore. Because of how much we live it we have gotten my sister, both of our daughters and our son to get a mattress and now they are all lifelong Purple customers as well. Very highly recommended!
