We have had the mattress for three weeks now. I work nights and sleeping through the day isn't easy but this mattress makes it possible. I no longer sweat no matter how high my wife has the heat. For a couple that are polar opposites when it comes to firmness, and for people who sleep in different positions my wife and I can both honestly say this mattress is great. The motion transfer is almost nonexistent and I don't even feel when she comes to bed before I wake up. It was definitely the best choice for us.

We've had the mattress (King size) for a few months now. I was skeptical because I could not go to a store and lay on it first. It's a pretty big leap of faith in this day and age to lay out that kind of cash on something you've not seen or felt. The mattress is similar in comparison to memory foam mattress, but it is not the same. You don't get hot laying on the mattress. Although very comfortable, the next few days I woke up a little sore. I figured I was just adjusting to the new mattress. I absolutely love the mattress. I have adjusted and am not sore or hot. I'm very happy with this purchase and IF it ever wears out I plan on getting another. I'm glad I took the risk and bought it.

I was struggling with sleeping through the night - until NOW. Love this mattress. My husband works in concrete and was experiencing significant back pain. That pain has almost completely subsided since sleeping on this mattress. We expect him to have some pain working in the industry, but we're really impressed with how well we are both sleeping.

The sales guy recommended the purple mattress (we were deciding between that and the hybrid) because my husband and I are both side sleepers. Sadly, however, the mattress is just too soft and we wake up with back pain every morning. I really really wanted to love this mattress, but it's just disappointing. We're considering exchanging it for the hybrid, but don't want to face the same problem again next time.

The purple mattress is everything I expect in a mattress. For my own personal taste it is the right amount of soft and firm. It is incredibly comfortable. Now you may be asking why only 4 stars. If you are looking for a silver bullet solution for back pain; unfortunately it does not work for me. I had plenty of back pain from my old mattress and because I am 6'5". Changing mattresses to a purple did not solve that problem BUT it did not make it worse either. It is an excellent mattress for motion transfer though. When I toss and turn because of my back pain I do not wake my wife as well anymore. In summary, it is an excellent mattress for the money and does all that is advertised but I do not feel as though it is a life changing experience.

This may be a bit of a hefty post but hopefully it will help some of you out there as well as Purple in continuing to improve their products. First off I'm about 140 lbs, pretty thin; and I am pretty much exclusively a side sleeper. I prefer a softer bed, although I haven't really done any extensive studies of different bed firmness. I think due to my side sleeping I expected this bed to work really well for me because I imagined if I was sleeping on my arm that it would kind of dig into the Polymer while the rest of my weight was supported. So my arm wouldn't go numb, and at the same time due to it's design I wouldn't be super hot. I basically expected it to be a cloud of awesome. I purchased the new Purple 3 Mattress about a month ago. Initially I noticed it actually felt firmer than my old bed (my old bed was just average I would say, nothing too fancy) which kind of took me off guard. I was expecting it to be softer and really cradle me like I was sleeping in a cloud. I did notice the Hyper-Elastic Polymer when I was sitting on the bed or sitting up, but when my weight was distributed it just felt harder than my old bed. I didn't keep count of how many times my arm went numb, but I do feel it happened a bit more with this bed versus my old bed. If I was a bit heavier (perhaps 160-170lbs?) I think it would have really cradled me a lot better, but for me it felt like I was just sleeping on a flat board. In my personal opinion, I would be very interested if the Hyper-Elastic Polymer on the bed was just a bit more firm than the pillow is. Before the bed arrived I laid on the pillow and I thought, "If this is what it's like and it still keeps me cool it's going to be great." So maybe that's something they might look in to in the future. Like having different consistencies of polymer vs just 2, 3 or 4 inches of the same consistency. I would probably be willing to give it another chance if that was the case. As far as temperature goes I did feel that it slept a cooler because I was able to up my AC a bit and wake up really comfortable as far as temperature is concerned. I'm rating this three stars as it seemed like a pretty average bed to me. This doesn't take into account the price. For me it wasn't worth the price when my bed isn't super old, and I didn't really notice a difference. The rating also doesn't take into account their customer service because I wanted to make this just about the bed itself.

Sleeping on purple for 2 weeks now. We have found it to be a comfortable mattress and sleep really well. Prior to getting mattress I hurt my back and have been in considerable pain since. While on the purple my back feels great and I don't want to get up. If only I could stay in bed all day but thats not possible but it does give me an excuse to lay down again thru the day on my purple.

So I've had three major surgeries over the past five years. Now I got the seat cushion a year after my first surgery and fell head over heels for it. I recently got the mattress hoping for the same relief and it's has not disappointed. It's a nice firm but gives just enough to embrace the curves. I've definitely woke up less in the middle of the night and awaken with less pain in the morning. Its held it's shape and there hasn't been any impressions from where I am sleeping. Feels like that seat cushion I love so much just all over, its great. It's been such a comfort through this recent surgery. I love science.

I'm 5'10" and 190lbs and I sleep on my side. I've been sleeping on the bed for right at 30 days and i can not get my lower back and hip to stop hurting. Im not saying my back and hip are hurting because of the purple bed im just saying it isn't getting any better. I personally dont think I sink down enough for a side sleeper. When Im on my side i feel like im laying on a small beam and I could rock either way. If i were sinking into the memory foam I think i would feel more stable and sleep better. I think purple is a great company but their bed is just not for me.

The Purple bed is comfortable and firm. At first, we thought it was just another temper pedic but it really does push back and remain firm. The 4 star rating is because the delivery was not within web site timeframe due to a factory issue We feel in the future, we will replace any existing mattresses with Purple.
