A little backstory: Our previous mattress was a King size with pillow top and a 4 inch memory foam pad. Our old mattress and pad felt great when we would fall asleep but my wife and I would routinely wake up sweating (even though I keep the house at 62). We would also wake up feeling tired and our backs would be stiff. I train and am routinely sore so I really need to get great sleep...for lots of reasons. I had watched the Purple commercials literally just because they were great entertainment. But upon deciding that we needed to try something different I ordered a king size Purple. The title of this review is "Give it a few days"...because...for the first few days I thought we may have to send it back. It was "lower in height" and a bit firmer than we were accustomed. The first night wasn't really great at all. We both tossed and turned as our bodies became acclimated to the mattress. BUT.... On the fourth night something changed. We both slept soundly...all night long. No pee breaks...no getting hot...no tossing and turning. As of this writing we have had the mattress about 2-3 weeks. I can honestly say that I've slept better than I have in a very long time. I never wake up sweating. I don't toss and turn anymore. My lower back doesn't feel pulled and strained and my sore muscles have found much needed relief. My wife and I would recommend the Purple mattress 100 times over.

Exactly as promised and I love it! It took a week or so to adjust to my Purple (surprising that "more comfortable than I've ever experienced before" takes getting used to, but alas, my body took some adjusting), but now my husband and I marvel every morning at how much better our sleep has been! According to my fitness tracker, my sleep scores have been in the "excellent" range 4 out of the last 7 days and just a points shy of excellent the other 3 days--we're more refreshed and in better moods since getting our Purple!

Don't get it twisted, this isn't as comfortable as a Tempurpedic. That being said however, it is pretty darned comfortable. I'm a little disappointed with the level of thickness and support. If you sit on the edge of the bed or if you are on your hands or knees (giggity), it feels like you sink to the bottom of the bed. I think this needs to be at least 2-4" thicker to offer more support. The first time I slept on the bed, I woke up with intense back pain. I haven't had any ever since, but just be aware that your body will have to adjust to this bed. Shipping was great. Unpacking was great. No lingering smell. Not sure I'd recommend this to anyone, personally. I think you'll get the same level of comfort with a box spring + memory foam mattress pad.

I love this mattress!! My wife and I have had foam mattresse in the past that, although comfy, have ended up with us reverting back to a spring version becuase of the inability to get used to it. The Purple mattress felt like a cloud when I first laid on it and still does!

My wife and I have been in the market for a new mattress for quite awhile. She suffers from chronic neck/shoulder pain and our old mattress seemed to be compounding the problems. After much research online, we first ordered a T&N mattress. I had no trouble with their mattress, it was much too firm for her and seemed to cause more issues. We returned the T&N mattress and ordered Purple. While no mattress can alleviate my wife's pain, the Purple seems to be the best for her issues. It seems to relieve some of the pressure on her back and neck. I also find the mattress very comfortable and sleeps relatively cool. I'd certainly recommend the Purple mattress to anyone.

Took nearly 4 weeks for everything to arrive. No more back pain in the morning. Shoulder pain from sleeping on my side with my are outstretched arm is gone. My wife sleeps pretty hot and says it is nice and cool. No more sweaty sheets. Oh and the purple sheets are like lotion on your skin. Only took a few weeks to adjust to the new bed. I actually look forward to going to bed. I love this bed! I hope it lasts for awhile but so far so good.

I usually don't write reviews, but this one I had to do. I have suffered from chronic back pain for over 10 years. I've tried every medical procedure, tried every type of physical therapy, acupuncture, etc. Nothing, and I mean nothing gave me relief at night and allowed me to get a good night's sleep. I saw the commercial for the Purple bed and viewed it as just another "hype" product. However, since I have tried every mattress under the sun, even the high priced "number" bed and the "memory" beds, I thought what the heck, I'll try this one because they do give you a 30 day trial period. Well, I cannot tell you how pleased and surprised I was after trying just one night. For the first time in years I slept through the night and woke up with no back pain! On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I rate this mattress a 12! Thank you Purple, you have made the quality of my life so much better! I highly recommend . Diane L, New York City

I have spent about a month sleeping on the purple mattress and pillow. It seems to work fine. I have noticed a reduction is soreness and the number of times I am awake during the night. All in all I like the mattress, but maybe not quite the revelation that I was hoping for.

We loved the idea of the purple mattress and couldn't wait to try it out. The top layer is good, but the next layer under the purple is just too firm. It's hard to turn over and get positioned and we are waking up several times a night. Sleep has been a struggle and we are going to return the mattress.
