We did our research, we read the reviews, we tried it out in the store. But when we got it home we just could not like this mattress. We gave it 8 weeks before deciding to return it. Somehow it is hard and not so a the same time. While top rated for side sleepers (which I am) this mattress caused me more pain and numbness than any I have ever owned. And it did it in record time. Usually in 30 minutes or less. Very disappointed, as we really wanted this to be our solution. If you like a firm mattress this is a great mattress, If you are heavy enough, to make it compress, its probably a great mattress. (I weigh 200 lbs) But if you need some give and conforming to your body, I would not recommend this mattress

Purple had a great advertising approach! I really hoped this mattress would be one my wife and I could both sleep well on, but not to be. We gave it a good 80+ nights and bought the special stretchy sheets but we don't sleep well on the mattress and our lower backs are quite stiff and sore in the morning.

So, I normally slept on a spring mattress with a memory foam pad on top. This wasn't the most comfortable because the heavier part of my body (lower torso) would sink, so I could only lay on my back. Laying on my stomach was uncomfortable, and same with the sides. With my new purple mattress, it isn't much better. Sleeping on my stomach is quite uncomfortable, on my sides it's okay, and on my back it is more support than I'm used to. However, I sleep through the entire night no problem. I am hoping that my body can adjust to this and it will be more comfortable than it is right now. Overall, I enjoy the mattress. I'm not saying that it isn't comfortable, because it is. I am saying that it isn't as comfortable as I was expecting. Maybe that's me. Maybe my body needs to adjust to it. I sometimes woke up with neck pain and lower back pain on my old mattress. I am hoping the science behind Purple will prove able to alleviate this with further use.

Normal mattresses gives me back pain all the time. After using this mattress, it has gone away. It is very comfortable and they send free covers with it! I didn't believe it at first but I wanted to try it. I thought all these reviews were fake but guess what? I am one of those reviews now :). I totally would recommend this. It's worth your money.

I have degenerative disk disease and went through three mattresses before landing on the Purple. This mattress is the only one that has given me relief- and complete relief! It did take about a month for my body to adjust to it, so do be patient! My husband loves it too. We immediately noticed deeper sleep from night one. I now dread ever having to spend a night away from our purple. Love, love everything about this mattress!

The bed wasn't life changing or anything like that. Decent mattress, probably could have gotten one just as good for cheaper. They don't offer the option of buying with a box spring, which is necessary for certain types of beds. But the customer service makes or breaks and company and theirs is TERRIBLE. Often a week or more for a response...from an online company, no less! My mattress was delayed, no notice or reason given- I had to write in and ask. My sheets were delayed, notice only emailed about the delay after the promised delivery time had passed. They were delayed even further from the new date and, of course, I had to check in on the status just like the mattress. Would not deal with this company again, completely frustrating experience. Even writing this review was frustrating- the company sent me an email asking for one, I entered in the space provided and hit "post". Magically disappeared and I had to re-write again.

So, I was probably like you. Looking at all the online bed deals and not knowing if they were a scam. But I took a chance on the purple mattress. So far after two months I really like it and so does my wife. It's different but nice. It's sleeps cool even with heavy flannel sheets. It's supportive but I could see a problem if you are really heavy. I'm 190 and my wife is 115. I have a problem getting out of it in the morning because I'm so comfortable. My last mattress was the foam mattress which admittedly was also comfortable but I would wake up with a sore back after a long night sleep. After about a week with the purple mattress that went away, thankfully and I wake up with no sore back. There were some negative reviews for side sleepers But I am a side sleeper and a hal but I am a side sleeper and have had no problems.

The mattress feels like it would almost be too soft at first but once I laid down on it, it was plenty firm to be supportive. I sleep on all positions- both sides, back, and stomach and I'm comfortable in all of them on this mattress. It takes some getting used to though, the first couple weeks I tossed and turned quite a bit (even though i felt comfortable)

It took me 30 days, not the recommended 21, to break in this mattress and fall in love with it (I am tall and thin, so fewer pounds per square inch, and it felt too firm the whole first month). Give it time. I ended up purchasing the softest mattress I could find in a store to replace my original Purple mattress, but I was glad that the Purple one wasn't picked up yet since I didn't realize how wonderful it was until I had a chance to compare. Now I don't think I'll ever be able to sleep on anything other than a Purple mattress! It is true that all pressure points are eliminated on this mattress, even your toes!

If you are a side sleeper, get either the purple 3 or 4. The original purple is too firm and allows for high pressure on hips and shoulders. Personally, my shoulders are very sore when I wake up in the morning. An up side is the mattress regulates body temperatures well. It is perfect for hot sleepers and is a million times better than memory foam mattresses in that regard.
