We purchased a New purple mattress 2 (King) in March 2018 and I have to say we had very high hopes. Upon first laying on the bed it felt very comfortable. My wife, who was 8 months pregnant at the time, was unsure of the comfort but decided to continue to try it out. After my youngest son was born, her comfort continued to decline. She is rather light-weight so this may be a contributor. Back pain, and tossing and turning is a normal nightly occurrence. My personal experience has been ok. While my first impression may have been an 8 out of 10. My current assessment would be a 4/5 out of 10 with some nights with back pain and others with descent sleep. This tends to depend on my sleeping position. I'm usually a stomach sleeper but seem to have better success on this mattress if sleeping on my back. I have an athletic build and again, assuming this is a contributor. We also bought our 5 year old son a New purple mattress 2. Maybe he's just mimicking Mom, but when he wakes up in the morning and complains about lower back pain it's pretty amusing and needless to say, Purple mattresses aren't a favorite in the kindergarten class. Unfortunately , between the pregnancy with changes in body "type" and life, the 100 day trial quickly expired before we decided this really isn't the mattress for us. We contacted Purple customer service in October to see if anything could be done but they were not able to accommodate a return past (agreeably double) the 100 day window.

This mattress is one of the best things that could have ever happened to me or my husband. The BEST thing about this mattress is that it does not transfer enough motion for me to register while asleep . My husband moves (used to move?) around A LOT at night. It would always wake me up, which resulted in frustrated remarks during the night and sleep deprivation during the day. I don't know if he still rolls around in his sleep - the mattress doesn't transfer motion (and he is a bigger/taller guy) - but I suspect he doesn't as much as he used to (which means he is getting a better night's sleep). As a bonus, it really is temperature neutral. Our other non-motion-transferring option was memory foam, but memory foam gets hot and good memory foam mattresses are really expensive. This mattress is affordable and comfortable temperature-wise. This mattress is also the dream combination of being both soft and firm. It is hard to explain how it feels, but it is like the commercials say (sinks where you put pressure and doesn't where you don't). It is not soft like a pillow-top - it's soft in a supportive way. My husband is picky about mattress firmness and generally he gravitates towards more firm mattresses. He has loved this from day one. ALSO, I almost forgot to write that his back used to hurt him a lot more (he's only 30 years old) and now I rarely hear him complain about his back. We both believe that Purple is to thank for this. Although I am joking that it "saved my marriage," I have no doubt that we argue a lot less and are happier people than we would have been otherwise if we didn't get this mattress. Do yourself a favor and get this mattress. With their free trial, you really have nothing to lose. I took a chance and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made!

It's definitely a uniquie mattress and pillow. The cover is great. We had to return the mattress and pillow, because my wife and I had neck pains waking up in the morning, but I think these issues were just specific to us. I can see how this would be the perfect mattress for most people. The return process was easy and seamless. A great company, just wish it worked out for us.

This is the best mattress I have ever slept on. Whenever I stay at my girlfriend's I can't wait to go sleep in my bed again. I sleep in all different positions, from side to on my back to on my stomach. No matter what angle I am in I am comfortable. The bed never over heats like my old mattress did. I'm just waiting on my sheets, it's taking awhile but it will be worth the wait. I love this mattress.

I have back pain and was desperate to find a mattress that didn't cause pressure points as I find my hips aching terribly as well. The first few months I slept well but started noting my hips hurting again. Unfortunately the 100 days trial was up. A few months more and I was back to sleeping on the couch. After doing some late night research I discovered that this mattress will cause pressure points and pain if your under 140 pounds because you don't have enough eight to sink in. Well I'm usually somewhere between 125 and 135 so that explained a great deal. On the flip side my husband my husband (225 pounds) adores this mattress and sleeps like the dead. It's the first time in our marriage he's used a blanket in the winter because this mattress sleeps cool. We are trying to find middle ground and I will order another brand in a twin XL while he orders the Purple in a twin XL. We already took the kind size to one of our rental cabins in Gatlinburg and most guests love it. We get the occasional "bed it too hard!" review though.

I will be sending the Purple Mattress back. It has not worked for me as I had hoped for. It has been like sleeping on concrete. Sleepless nights has been my experience with this mattress. I am so sorry. I was hoping this was going to be the right way to go.

I purchased the original purple matress and the purple 4 mattress. Definitely in love with the purple 4. I have never slept so comfortable in my life. I'm a crazy sleeper and I sleep on my side and stomach, my back and it has taken care of all my needs. I wake up refreshed and no back pain whatsoever. My husband and son love it to. Will definitely recommend the purple 4 mattress to my friends and loved ones. If you're thinking about buying it ... BUY IT!! Well worth the money! Thank you purple!!

I'm a single person in the King size bed. I've owned it a year. Recently I've gotten a boyfriend, and it was then that I realized how sunk in my side mattress is compared to his (because no one slept on his side for a year). Cuddling, we called it the black hole, and found it uncomfortable! After a year, I'm considering getting a different mattress I'm really disappointed my mattress broke down this way.

My husband and I had tried nearly every mattress on the market, pillow tops, memory foam, latex and for the last 5 years Sleep Number. My husband is a 100% disabled vet with serious low back pain and insomnia. I have Fibro and the nights are so painful I nearly cry every time I turned over. My niece introduced me to the purple mattress concept and after trying it out in the store we bought one. The first night I slept without pain and so deeply I barely remember turning over. I woke up feeling so great from the first truly restful sleep I've had in years. My husband took a few nights to adjust but loves the mattress now as much as I do. I think that if you have Fibro or other sleep and pain issues you should run, not walk to your local Purple store and try this mattress. It has changed my life, I hope it does that for you too. I can't stop telling everyone about how much I love our Purple Mattress! To say our previous mattress was old would be the understatement of the century. For the past 17 years we've been sleeping on a coil spring monster that hurt every pressure point and left us tossing all night. We've had our Purple mattress for a month and I'm waking up every day without back pain for the first time in years. Everyone in the family loves it. Even the dogs have started sleeping on the bed again. We're about to go all purple: pillows and sheets as well. We love our Purple!
