A friend of mine told me about the purple mattress that he saw online. I was skeptical, but needed a new matress as my old one, although a good one, was at the end of its life and was starting to cause me back aches. I could not spend more than 4 hours in bed, at which point, it felt better to get out of bed than stay in it and try to sleep. After reading the many many positive reviews about the purple matress, I figured that it was worth the gamble to buy, approximately a 1/3 of the cost of what I figured I would have to spend for a quality matress, and it would be shipped right to my door. After getting the purple matress, I do not experience any back ache and I can sleep as long as I want. What a difference! Every time I lay down to sleep, it feels so good on my back. I'm so thankful that I found out about this matress before I made a purchase. I've ordered the purple pillow and hope it feels as good as the matress! I was sceptical but agreed at my husband's insistence because of the trial... surprise ...i'm keeping it!!! I'm a very picky bed girl and did not expect to like it at all but I have slept so good! This is the original! Can you imagine if I had upgraded??? Thanks purple you are the best!!!

I've had my purple mattress for four months and I absolutely love it. I have hypermobile joints that slip out of place easily on traditional mattresses. On my old mattress I would have to wake up at least three times a night to pop and realign my neck and back. I haven't had that problem since I got this mattress. It also sleeps cool which is a big plus here in Texas. One weird thing I wasn't expecting, our cat refuses to walk on it. I guess he doesn't like the way it gives under his feet so he walks across us like we're a couple of bridges all night but the mattress is well worth it.

I am so happy to have bought a Purple Mattress. It is by far the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned. I've been having back issues for a couple years now, and keep waking up in pain. I've tried about 4 different normal mattresses, varying in quality from high end to standard quality. Then I decided to try the "out of a box" mattress. I started with a Nectar mattress, and after 6 weeks of waiting, I never received anything, so I cancelled the order and ordered a Purple and a Casper. Both came in about a week, and the Casper didn't measure up even close to the Purple, so it went back for a refund. The Purple sleeps very cool, which my girlfriend and I both really enjoy. The sheets are the most comfortable sheets as well, and that was just an added bonus to being able to wake up pain free every day now. And it's just so heavenly to lay down on at night, with the soft gel top section on it. Thanks so much Purple!!

My husband and I were in the market for a new bed. I was very hesitant about not being able to try a bed before purchasing. We compared memory foam beds online and decided to try Purple based on the purple technology. I figured we would try it and if we didn't like it, get our refund prior to the 100 day trial being up. We have had the bed a month and both can't say enough great things about it. We are feeling more rested in the morning. I am thrilled to report that we have will be keeping it! Also, I have to mention, the "egg test" is real! We've tried it and you should too!

Research and Purchase: My biggest hesitation with this purchase was buying something I never tried out as Purple only has less than a handful of locations where you can go and check this thing out. After seeing the commercials and doing a lot of mattress research though, I kept coming back to the Purple Gen 2 Mattress. Reading the reviews it appeared to me that most people either love it or hate it... and that was for most other mattresses as well to be fair It seemed that the people of larger sizes had more problems with the Purple Gen 1 mattress because it has no mechanical structure for the additional weight. Since I am 6'2" tall and weigh 215 lbs, I decided to go with the Gen 2 which is a hybrid and contains coil springs in the hopes I wouldn't experience the issues others my size did on the Gen 1. I purchased the Cali-King Purple mattress with the 3" Smart Control Grid. I also ordered the sheets and mattress cover. Preparation: After I ordered the mattress I built a horizontally-hinged 3/4" HPVA Birch plywood base to go over my low-profile box springs and beefed up the lower base supporting the box springs with additional cross beams and legs (17 total! you could park a truck on this thing) to support the additional weight of the mattress and to provide a solid base with no sag. (you cannot put this mattress on regular box springs) Delivery Process: Simple with plenty of email confirmations and status updates and I had my new mattress in about a week. The guys had a time getting it up to the second floor and to my room because of the weight and bulkiness so make sure you know where it's going because moving it afterwards will take some effort. (There must be a reason why handles are not installed on the sides of this mattress but they would definitely aid with moving it around.) I opted for removal of my previous bed. I don't know where they ended up taking it but I hope it's burning in an incinerator somewhere... First Impressions: Finally, after putting on the cover and regular cotton sheets, I tried it out. (The purple sheets didn't arrive until the following week) This mattress has a different feel than a memory foam or regular mattress for sure. It's hard to explain but it doesn't take more than minutes to love it! While my memory foam guest bed is really soft, spongy and hot, my 3-year old mattress (with a pillow top) in the master was considerably hard when compared to the Purple. It really does achieve a soft and firm balance. After laying on the bed I quickly realized how the Purple mattress was cradling my body and equally distributing my weight across the surface I was lying on which just felt amazing. I actually started to fall asleep within minutes. The first night of sleep was the first night in a long time that I slept through the entire night without constantly waking up and rolling around to get comfortable. I am a back sleeper but occasionally sleep on my side too. This bed seems to accommodate me in either situation. The bed isolates movement very well too so I wasn't bothered by my wife getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The bed also sleeps cool but it's not like cold at all. The edges of the bed holds up when sitting on the side too, which was a complaint on the Gen 1 mattress. I have to say that when I added the Bamboo sheets, the experience became even better. I don't typically like jersey sheets but these are really amazing. They don't cling to you when moving around under the covers and are soft and silk-like. An added bonus... for me anyway... is that since they are so stretchy, my wife can no longer un-tuck my side of the bed leaving my feet out to freeze in the breeze of the fan. The Verdict: For me this thing is the holy grail of mattresses. I don't know how in the world someone wouldn't enjoy sleeping on this thing. Yes it may be pricey if you have a Cali-King but some of my wife's handbags cost as much and do absolutely nothing... and then end up in the closet the next year... and eventually the hands of my 20 something daughters the following year. Crazy! Anyway, I've had neck and upper back pain for years and the Purple mattress has seemingly fixed all this! So far I've been sleeping on my Purple Gen 2 for about two months and the most pleasant surprise of all is the near disappearance of my chronic neck pain! Over the past few weeks I've noticed that my neck pain was less than the previous day and today it all of the sudden donned on me, that I have no neck pain! AT ALL!!! I absolutely love my Purple!! I am so glad I bought this mattress! I have been sleeping soundly ever since and have no regrets!

The first 4 years were fantastic, very comfortable and cool. But right around year 4 it tanks. I wake up nearly every day with hip and low back pain at age 23... It's ridiculously firm now and I toss and turn all night. And since it was so expensive I can't afford or justify buying a new mattress yet. I'm on year five and it keeps getting worse and worse. Unless I sleep on the very edges where it's not worn it's basically like sleeping on a thick carpet. Would not recommend unless you're rolling in cash. There's much better and cheaper options out there.

I was skeptical about a bed that was comfortable no matter what side I lay on; however, the purple bed is simply not uncomfortable. I've tried to find something bad about the purple mattress but it just can't be done. This is hands down the best mattress I've ever laid on and overall my sleeping habits have gotten much better.

Bought the mattress for my done about one month ago. I am now buying myself one as well. Very comfortable and my son loves it. His back was always bothering him with his previous mattress, now his pain is much better. He also has a purple pillow and likes it as well.

We went from memory foam to this and it's much more confirmable and not nearly as hot to sleep on. Not to mention the support I received from Nick Waters at Purple was hands down the best I have ever had. He may be the single greatest employee they have, and quite possibly in the entire industry.
