I have recently developed back and hip pain while sleeping. I tried several mattresses, and each one caused more pain. Then I bought a Purple mattress, and I have been sleeping much better. It is very comfortable, and has reduced my back pain. Purple was recommended by a friend, and I'm glad I tried it. I highly recommend this mattress.

For the past 3 years my husband hasn't been able to sleep more than a couple of hours at a time in our bed. He has injuries from a motorcycle accident ... literally a deer ran into him one morning on his way to work! The deer died, thank goodness my husband did not. Anyway, since then his "best" sleep was in his recliner. Out of desperation and worry for his health, I started looking at different mattresses. I read some reviews on The Purple Mattress and it sounded hopeful. So I ordered one for our guest bedroom... just in case. My husband, Lord bless him, has been able to sleep a record 5 hours at a time on The Purple Mattress without pain jolting him awake! Now I just need to get him back into our bed... so I'll be purchasing another Purple Mattress next year, for sure! :)

I was hesitant to get my first 'bed in a box' online, even though there are plenty of options to return if you aren't happy with the product. I spoke to a few of my friends who have purchased online and nobody was unhappy with their beds, so after some research I found purple best suited me as I am a bigger guy and this was unanimously the top rated bed in a box for my size and sleeping position. I saved a lot of money compared to going into a store, had it delivered to my door (sorry FedEx guy that had to haul it up to my unit) and have had 0 issues with it. I used to hate waking up hot, and the purple grid design really does a good job of allowing air to move through the bed to avoid that. I also got the purple sheets (they are stretchy) and would highly recommend those as well. The bed is designed to sink in/adjust as needed, and traditional sheets didn't move as well and would end up popping up over the corners so I would have to reset the fitted sheets each morning.

Takes some getting used to but it's much better than what I has before. I appreciate the airflow; however, it's a gigantic inconvenience to not be able to throw the cover in the washer if it gets soiled or a serious stain of sorts happens. More thought could go into developing a washable (and maybe even dry-able cover), especially for the cost.

Strangest mattress that I ever slept on. You kind of have to crawl your way to the middle and then plop yourself in your desired position. If you sit on the edge of the bed it becomes a slope and you could fall off. lol I like the comfort, like sleeping on jello. The mattress is a little smaller than my previous queen mattress, maybe 2 inches per side. The free purple sheets that came with the bed are very soft, however the top sheet is overly stretchy and doesn't stay in the middle. Easy to get tangled up in it by morning and then you have to fight your way out of bed. The purple bag that the mattress came in is really cool. I saved it. Perhaps tho, it might be a good idea to mark which end the instructions are in. I didn't even know there was more in the bag until after i watched a video on installation. I do like the little purple beds they include great for our happy plushies. I look forward to many great nights of sleep. I am completely satisfied. : D

Recently just purchased a king size original purple. So far. So good. The support is top notch. Only downfall is the mattress slides easily on the metal bed frame and gets nicked by some imperfections in the metal. Otherwise it's hands down better than any other mattress we've used.

Ordered 2 of these. While opening the first one with the cheap plastic razor tool, the tool broke and cut me quite badly. They gimmick this mattress as being technologically advanced yet they give you a tool made to open an envelope and expect it to cut through the zipper on the packaging without breaking??? Needless to say, a major oversight by the company. I hope this never happens to someone else especially someone on blood thinners that could easily bleed out. Other than the issue with opening the item, here are some pros and cons about the purple. Pros: the top "purple" layer does seems to work well and does keep you cooler that memory foam alone would. Also, the mattress cover is a nice feature but not sure if you can buy one on its own to replace the original after you feel that it is no longer new. Cons: the base layers of the mattress seem cheaply made compared to some of the competition. Seriously looks like they just put their purple grid on top of the cheapest memory foam mattress out there... doesn't even look uniform in construction. Does have a funny smell and I felt like something made be slightly congested after laying on it. Overall, not the best out there but better than some. BE CAREFUL WHEN OPENING THE PACKAGE. DON'T USE THE INCLUDED TOOL, TRY SOME OFFSET SCISSORS OR SOMETHING ELSE. The instructions actually tell you to use this thing plastic razor tool to cut through the zipper and it was at this point the it literally broke and sliced into me.

My husband and I previously slept on a TempurPedic bed and the Purple far exceeded our expectations! We were both waking up with aches and pains from our 10 year-old TP and decided it was time to get a new bed. It took a couple nights to get used to Purple, but we are delighted we took a chance and changed brands!! (It really does sleep cooler, as well.) Thanks Purple!

I originally bought the purple 3, and after using it for the test period, I decided to save a bit of money and exchange it for the original purple mattress because I thought it would similar enough. Unfortunately, I wish I had kept the purple 3 because there is a significant difference in squishy comfort for me, as I am a side sleeper. On the original purple mattress, I feel like there isn't enough give for my shoulder when sleeping on my side. Don't get me wrong, it is a very comfortable mattress regardless, but I would prefer more squish for my shoulder to sink in and not get smushed as much. Other than that, everything they advertise is there!! My boyfriend doesn't overheat as much and likes the cooling features too.

I've been looking at new mattresses for probably a year I took a look at this before the stores closed for covid-19 and finally just hit checkout! I have had many problems with my hip and boyfriend has with back I do not wake up with half as much pain and I sleep like a baby. This is by far the most unique and amazing experience as of now it's been almost a month with the mattress the cover pillows sheets and I think I'll be a life long customer.
