I have nothing but great things to say about this mattress. The only thing I don't like is that now all my 6 yo wants for Christmas is a purple mattress of his own. Seriously great. I am a pretty large woman and my husband is a very large man and we both love the way this mattress feels. Would 100% recommend.

I bought the 3" hybrid mattress, being mostly a side sleeper. I do flip onto my back at times in the night. I have been using it since the summer on an appropriate foundation, along with the mattress pad (waste, just slides all over) and the sheets. I am now having trouble sleeping because the entirety of my back is now hurting after a few hours on it, and it takes me awhile to feel normal after getting up. I suspected the 3" was a bit too soft and now, after months of use, it has become even softer. Given what I paid for it, this is quite discouraging since I am 41 years old and of average weight, so no extenuating circumstances complicating matters. I now have to figure out what to do to firm it up somehow or I will be buying a new mattress altogether. I should have bought the original Purple and perhaps would be in better shape sleeping now all these months later. It would be interesting to know if all these positive reviews from the initial purchase still feel the same way 6+ months later.

My wife and I purchased a king-sized Original Purple mattress less than two years ago. We fell for the hype and for the first year or so, it was fine. Two months ago, I started to experience back aches and stiffness. I didn't think to check the mattress as it was relatively new and I don't get back aches often. My wife decided to check and noticed that certain parts of the bed, the areas where no one slept, were much more firm the the two sides where we sleep. I read online about the various ways to measure body indentations and mattress sagging. Once we measured, I was shocked to find out how quickly the mattress has deteriorated (pics attached). Bottom line, this is a new company and an untested product. Stay away until or if they ever prove themselves over a 10 year period. For reference, I weigh approx. 165 pounds and my wife weighs in the low 100's.

My husband and I have been sleeping with what we thought was a comfortable Tempur-pedic Mattress for the last 12 years, but it was time for a new mattress. The quirky Purple Mattress commercials initially sparked my interest in Purple Mattress, and then I explored further into the science of hyper-elastic polymers and the reported advantages that Purple Mattress offers. After watching several videos, I took the leap and ordered a new mattress and a purple pillow. My report: Smell - slight chemically smell that my husband dislikes, but far less than the Tempur-pedic mattress we bought 12 years ago. I haven't found this problematic, but we have been allowing air to circulate in the bedroom to further outgas the bed. Sleep Temperature: The Purple mattress definitely sleeps cooler than a Tempur-pedic mattress, a feature I quite enjoy as I tend to be a hot sleeper. Firmness and Support: The level 3 Purple is supposed to be the "middle" firmness and it definitely feels firmer than the "medium" firmness offered by the Tempur-pedic mattress. My husband describes it as sleeping on firm Jello. I find that the mattress conforms to the contour of my side sleeping profile without uncomfortable pressure points. The Tempurpedic mattress, tended to slump into a big hole and you sometimes felt trapped. Overall, much better support and relief from pressure points but it will take some getting used to in order to adjust to the firmness. Weight: Both the mattress and the pillow are quite heavy; particularly the pillow. It is of a weight that discourages you from moving it throughout the night. On the other hand, it gives me much better neck comfort so I do not need to adjust its position often. Final Review: Overall, I consider the Purple Mattress to be a significant upgrade and is by far, the most comfortable mattress that I have owned.

After hearing rave reviews from personal friend about Purple mattress, we went ahead and made the purchase ourselves. The process was easy. We received everything on time. We got emails notice and confirmation of items being shipped and delivered. There was no guessing and waiting on anything. Finally arrived! Bed frame was a bit dented and damaged. We just use some tape to cover the sharp edge... too excited to try out the mattress to go thru the hassle of changing the frame. First night, awaken to numbness in the arm and stiffness upper body. Second Night, new pillow ... toss and turn. Third Night, another pillow,,,, awaken to ache and pain in the back and shoulder. Contacted Purple and got a quick reply via email and was suggested to use stretchy sheet and mattress cover. Made the change... 30 days plus in... Sleep is sporadic...good days and bad days...always tension in the upper back and shoulder areas. HOWEVER, my boyfriend did really enjoy the bed and his sleep. unfortunately, we need both persons to enjoy the bed and sleep well in order to keep it. Now I'm beginning the process of returning the bed. Balance out the rating, great responsive interactions with the company via emails but bed didn't cut it for me.

I got purple mattress today and I am so excited to sleepon it that I considered going to sleep at 5:00 pm. There was an interesting situation with the delivery that almost had me regretting getting the mattress. The bed was delivered 20 miles from my house but the delivery company said they couldn't get my mattress to me for a week. I called the shipping company and asked if I could pick it up. Long story short, Brooklyn at Purple and Natasha at the delivery company went out of their way to make sure I was able to pick up my mattress. I thank both of them for their fantastic customer service. I look forward to many nights of unbelievable sleep. Thanks Purple.

Wish you had said in the beginning that it could not be left in the car, since i bought it for while i was traveling in the car. cushion is pretty heavy for its size and the cushion cover is way to small cant even begin to stuff the cushion in and leave zipper open

I received my Purple matress four days ago, and was prepared for a 30 day adjustment period before getting used to the mattress. I rarely write reviews, but was compelled to write this one because I am beyond thrilled about this find. I slept like a baby from Day one. I was experiencing back pain upon awakening, for the past three months. The first morning after the mattress arrived, and each morning since, I wake up completely pain free!!!!

Greetings, Since I have Crohn's disease (butt-hurt stuff) I can't get more weight easily so my weight is usually around 90 to 110lbs. So I wanted to know if I'll benefit from your product? Or will it be too firm? Also I'm a tall-skinny guy which makes my posture always a little bent. Thanks.

We purchased the bed after we watched videos and read reviews on many websites. We thought it would be a great bed for me with my back issues, however I have issues with pressure point after surgery for hip replacement. The purple layer was not good for my incision area. Too sensitive an area for the purple layer, maybe just not enough cushion. After many restless nights and being very upset that it was not the mattress for me, I told my husband that I was not sleeping well at all. He was very upset with me as he loved the mattress!!! But you know what they say about a happy wife! I called purple and gave them the news that we needed to return it. They suggested I try a bit longer (we had slept on it around 40 days.) I at that point told them of my issues and they never questioned me again. Sent me info on how to donate it to a local charity (which is easier said than done) but I found a charity that would take a used mattress and they came and picked it up. I felt so great about who the mattress was going to and that he was going to have it right before Christmas! He had been sleeping on the floor for months! I gave purple the info of the charitable organization we gave it to and in less than a week our money was completely refunded. Purple is a great company to deal with, just so wish the mattress was a good match for me. Unfortunately it wasn't. Still giving the matress 4 stars...especially for my hubby! He would give it 5 stars for sure!
