I've had back issues, particularly when getting out of bed, for some time. I've tried a couple other mattresses of various firmness levels, without success. I've been using the Purple mattress for about 30 days, and it has actually resolved my back issues. It's extremely comfortable and I would recommend it to anyone.

Got my Purple about a month ago and I've ever slept better. I never really had issues with back pain on different beds, but I'd always wake up a couple times a night. I'm sleeping much deeper on my Purple and wake up with more energy. The mattress also really does sleep cooler too! Can't recommend highly enough. I took my little Purple sample piece out to the living room and it is definitely the topic of conversation every time guests come over!

The first time I saw the Purple commercials, I thought they were a fun marketing idea, but what caught my attention was the science behind the mattress design. Having back and pressure point issues, I ordered the King-size Purple mattress. It is outstanding! For the first time in over a decade, I am able to sleep through the night. No more tossing and turning when the pain from my back or pressure points on my sides hurt to the extent that I wake up and have to reposition myself in order to go back to sleep. My husband was not excited about getting the Purple mattress, but after his first night's sleep on the Purple, he woke up amazed at the improvement. He. too, has back issues, and he couldn't believe the difference the Purple made in his quality of sleep. He's been very vocal about what a great mattress it is. One of our sons needed a new mattress. After hearing what we had to say about our Purple, he also ordered one. He, too, has the same results. After 3 decades of horrible mattresses and agonizing back and neck pain, I believe I qualify as an expert on mattresses and pillows. Before I bought my Purple products (mattress and pillow) I couldn't even lay down for more than 15-20 minutes before I was forced to stand up due to the pain. And just like the "Goldilocks" analogy, I tried soft, medium and hard mattresses. Including a contoured pillow. Waste of time and money. I even tried sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag! I was THAT desperate. I was seriously considering a water bed, but didn't want the expense or the trouble. Especially since it might not work either. That's when I decided to try Purple. Those "egg" ads were very convincing. Thank goodness I did! I've only had them for 21 days and I'm resting and SLEEPING comfortably for the first time since I was child. (I'm 58-yrs young.) I totally forgot what "resting" and "sleeping" meant. NOW I remember. No more changing positions and getting up to relieve the pain, because there is none. I don't even need to use my various back and neck massage devices! And I don't think I'll be needing that "100-day trial" period. I'm convinced. If my house catches fire the only thing I'm rescuing is my Purple mattress and pillow! They're the only things of value to me. Do yourself a favor. If you're still THINKING of getting a Purple mattress, then quit "thinking" and just buy one. It's money well spent and your body will thank you. I was skeptical at first and even the first 2 weeks were a bit rough. Coming from a super soft mattress to something a lot more firm took some getting used to. My lower back had ached during that time and I wanted to return it but my wife convinced me otherwise and I am glad she did. I need less sleep and feel better in the morning. This has led to being more productive in the workplace, firing on all cylinders, and more productive at home. I dread sleeping elsewhere because I love our Purple Bed!

My wife and I do like this bed. It is very supportive and I think I have been sleeping more solidly through the night. However, it is certainly a different feel and took time for us to adjust to it. The first few weeks I wasn't sure I liked it. Our previous bed was very plush and soft; the Purple mattress is certainly firm. It has a nice give to it, but I wouldn't call it soft.

I am primarily a side sleeper. I've been suffering from back/rib pain for years, sometimes so bad that it would wake me up in the morning and I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. I tried different memory foam mattresses, putting pillows under my side, etc, and nothing worked. I finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to try the purple, and now my pain is gone! I was somewhat skeptical when ordering but it really works. My boyfriend is a back sleeper and also wakes up with frequent back pain. Now he loves coming over to sleep on the purple because it helps alleviate his pain as well. The service was great. Wonderful experience overall.

My mattress, when replaced, was about 4 years old. Not quite a full lifetime, but I was looking for a premium mattress and a size upgrade as well. Many friends recommended the Purple brand for its softness and support, and my first impression with the pillow and grid on the mattress was excellent. But now after a month or two, I'm finding that while I am comfortable in bed most often, I'm actually developing some upper back pain that really cannot be ignored... at 22 years old. Given the price tag and general reviews, I'm very surprised that I'm now considering a return.

I got the purple 3 and mattress protector two weeks ago and have not slept right since. I had horrible sleep because of my old mattress and got this Purple 3 thinking it would help. It did not. It made it worse. The "grid" that they are so proud of just holds you on top of the mattress without actually supporting you. My middle and upper back now hurts constantly from when I wake up to when I sleep and the Purple Mattress has made it worse. My mattress quality on an eight year old spring mattress was better and offered more support caved in than this mattress did brand new. 0/10. Will be returning ASAP for SOME OTHER BRAND.

I'm very active in my life and with my job my body aches and I've had back pain for a very long time. After about 3 weeks of sleeping on this bed I no longer ache when I get up in the morning. I can move about freely and I can lay down however I want in this bed and still be comfortable. I highly suggest it if you suffer from back pain.
