I was on the market for a bed and wanted something more supportive than what I had previously. I always thought I needed super firm so I wouldn't sink in. The gel (when you buy it with the special stretchy sheets) somehow manages to let me feel supported, but doesn't cause feel like a rock or too hard. Great night sleep!

This mattress is pretty exceptional. Pair it with the pillow, sheets and PowerBase and it's out of control amazing! Love this thing. I used to wake up almost every hour because my shoulder or hip was sore or numb and I'd wake up hurting every morning. Not anymore. I sleep through the night and wake up actually feeling rested for once. It's pretty sweet!

My wife and I were shopping for a new mattress and after being burned too many times by traditional mattress stores we knew we wanted to try an internet mattress. After doing our research I fell in love with the Purple design and convinced my wife this was the one we should try... After an honest wait of 3.5 weeks for our king size purple mattress, sheets, and mattress protector, I must admit the first night was a disaster. Both my wife and I tossed and turned all night, we were hot/cold, and overall when we woke up both of us agreed it wasn't for us. My wife convinced me that we should give it two weeks to see if we would adjust. We are at the 3-week mark now and we both agree that we are sleeping better now then we ever did. The sheets are the real MVP of the package though, I have never felt anything so soft on a bed. Even so much so we already ordered a second set. While the mattress does take a serious adjustment period, if you see it though, there's no doubt you settle into deep sleeps night after night. The reason for the "4-star" review, is the mattress protector. I am sorry to say this just wasn't for us. We wanted to love the whole package all together, and if we just bought the mattress and the sheets, this would have been a Grand Slam. When you throw the mattress protector in the mix, the package turns into just a two-run homer. The protector is a little odd, just enough wind breaker material to convince you there's a liquid barrier but a very weird feeling when paired with those wonderful sheets. Bottom line is we brag about our Purple mattress every chance we get ~ weddings/parties/at work. In a short 3-weeks, it has changed the way I sleep. The sheets are second to none, even if you aren't looking for a mattress, if you want to get an idea of what kind of company Purple is, order the sheets. I will continue to recommend the Purple to any and all who speak with me about it.

When I first got the bed, it did not come packaged like the way you see in review videos, or on their website. It was insanely difficult to open. There was an intense chemical smell that lingered for a week. I couldn't sleep on the mattress for days, because I had to air the thing out. The bed is very comfy. I am feeling a dip in the middle of the bed. I'm assuming I'll get a response to "buy our sheets!" Because my sheets are too tight, or something, and that's causing the dip. Anyway, it's really comfortable. Not sure if recommend it to anyone, but I'm not unhappy with my purchase.

I contemplated buying this mattress for a few months until I finally made the plunge. My 3 year old VERY expensive mattress was already sinking in the middle and I started having back problems. Within the first week of sleeping on my Purple mattress, my back problems disappeared! I peacefully sleep through the night and never wake up stiff and sore!

Ive slept on my share of mattresses in my lifetime (34 years) and none come close to the level of comfort this one provides. Due to a back injury i find it difficult to get a good nights rest and find myself tossing and turning through the night. Since ive been sleeping on this mattress that has drastically decreased and i find myself better rested each day. What a difference! The only thing i regret is not buying one sooner. Also being able to pay for it in monthly installments through affirm was the icing on the cake. Not only do i not have to throw down a large amount of money at once but i can enjoy the product while paying for it.

Overall, I have been happy with the mattress. Good support and without painful pressure points. While it is much better than my last mattress, I do wish it had a little more support or firmness for my back. I feel as if my torso does sink down further than my extremities causing some back pain on longer night sleeps.

This bed is very comfortable. It forms to your body in an instant. It's soft but doesn't give you the feeling of sinking. Once you settle in your favorite sleeping position the bed becomes firm. It's kind of hard to explain... All-in-all, I find myself falling asleep without tossing and turning every night!

Aside from a lazy FedX driver just rolling the mattress out the back of his van and leaving it in the rain, we have had a positive experience. So far I like the mattress, I was afraid it would be a "hot sleeper" but it is not. I stay cool all night long which is more than I can say for our previous "traditional" style mattress. It took me a few nights before I got my first "full" night of sleep, I think about things too much, analyzing the comfort of the mattress, thinking about the purple stuff on it, wondering if I was getting hot or not, that kind of stuff. Once I got past my head I started sleeping better, though I don't think I am completely used to it yet, we are only about 3 weeks into it. I am looking forward to vacation so I can leave the Purple for a few days and come back to it for an "after the fact comparison. But like I said, so far so good! Back to FedX and rain and customer service; The big bag the mattress come in are not water proof, most of it seems to be but not the zipper. I don't now how long the mattress sat out in the rain because we didn't know it had been delivered. FedX delivered it a day ahead of schedule and literally just left it sitting in out driveway in the rain. I was out of town and my wife was out and about that day, when she came home and found it she rolled it into the garage for me to deal with when I arrived home. I checked the mattress and it had gotten very wet and the mattress cover was stained. SO, it being Saturday, I sent Purple's customer service a quick e-mail not expecting to hear form them until Monday but I was wrong. I received a call just a couple of hours later, I took some pictures of the water damaged mattress and emailed them to customer service and a new, dry, mattress was on the way. It too arrived a day ahead of schedule and the FedX driver once again just rolled it out of the back of the truck and left in the driveway, luckily it wasn't raining and we were all at home. My kids heard the truck back down the drive way and witnessed the driver open the back door of his truck and kick the mattress out and leave. Ok, all of the to say we are like the mattress so far and the Customer Service experience exceeded my expectations!.

After lots of research buying a bed for a bad lower back, I decided purple would be best despite it being more than some other mattresses. I'm very happy with my purchase and this bed has considerably reduced my back pain. It's firm with some give for comfort and so impressed, decided to get the pillow to match! Thanks purple!
