I received this mattress as a warranty claim on my original mattress, and am very unhappy with the quality. They say it's the same quality and "upgraded" from the previous original purple mattress, but I assure you it is not. The mattress feels significantly thinner and when sitting on it, my butt is touching the frame underneath. The "edge control" actually made it worse for rolling off the bed. Very unhappy with this.

My other mattress was about 5 years old and I would wake up every morning with bad lower back pain. Since I switched to purple I feel so much better. I do have to say the texture of the mattress is a little weird and takes awhile to get used to. I still get a little hot at night with think sheets but not as hot as I used to get.

I recently upgraded my original purple to the hybrid and love the decision! Although both mattresses are crazy comfortable, the hybrid offers a little more support! Treat yourself to the mattress cover and sheets to enhance the overall sleeping experience! I highly recommend the purple brand products!

...and my back feels better than it ever has since I've started sleeping on the mattress. That said... the first day with it was hard. Both difficult and stiff. I tend to reposition frequently when I sleep, switching from left side to back to right, then almost on my stomach. Unfortunately, because the purple grid is designed to conform to the body, every time I would move it would push back against me. I was previously sleeping on two mattresses; a futon on top of a pillowtop. I put the futon on top of my Purple the second night and it made a huge difference. The purple still contoured to my body, but instead of me fighting the grid the futon did it for me. If Purple is looking to innovate on their design further, I recommend making the grid a middle layer, with something above it to reduce that 'mattress battle' sensation. All that said, the good far outweighs the bad. If you're considering a Purple, go for it.

I like the pillow so far, however, I have only had it a little over a week. I do not like the "air pillow" that goes under it. I need the extra height that it adds initially, but it leaks out and is flat after a few nights. It also doesn't stay directly under the pillow and slides around. Very disappointed with this.

I purchased the mattress and platform after researching many other options. I am very pleased with my decision to buy a Purple mattress. It is so comfortable but even more importantly, I feel so much more rested and love that it is hypoallergenic. Best purchase ever!

I had a temper Pedic for the last 7 years and i was scard to loose it. I injurd my back and the doctor said i needed a firmer bed, however i loves the way my temper pedic formed around my body. I get the best of both worlds with the purple matress. Thanks purple! My only complaint is that i though i was getting a free purple pillow with my purchase but they sent me a seat cushion.

I was previously having problems with pressure points on my old mattress, which caused much lost sleep, and pain the next day, which caused me to stop doing a lot of exercises that I loved to do. Amazed that I really get no pressure points on Purple. I can feel my muscles relaxing, instead of tensing from pressure. I can even lay on my bad side without it going numb like it used to. More often in a better mood, for having gotten better sleep. Bought the Purple seat cushion for work, too. Major help. I'm so glad I 'splurged' on this one. I sleep every which way, but most often on my back or side.

I am not going to buy purple products again. I got the mattress which was advertised as being long lasting but after a few months it has obviously gotten worn in. It started to feel like crinkled plastic after less than 3 months and I thought about returning it but got lazy about it. We also got the purple mattress cover but the first time the baby wet the bed it went right through the cover. Mattress cover useless. The bed stand commercial shows sumo wrestlers fighting on the platform, but when mine showed up the holes were drilled in the wrong places by about a 1/4" which made it extremely hard to put together and 6 months later the metal bangs from warping and being pushed around by my weight. I spent a lot on this bed and all the great features advertised were hype and lies.

It's only been a week and a half but what a difference! I am 61 with back issues. I have been in such pain for over two years. I had a memory foam that was hurting me so terribly. I have slept for 30 years or more on a waterbed. So after shopping and researching I finally made the decision. I can roll over without feeling like a turtle on it's back, sleep all night, and I don't even feel the bed move when my husband comes to bed. I was never going to buy a bed that I had never laid down on over the internet!! Then I realized that I had laid down on the memory foam and thought it was the bomb until it started dipping and sagging. I figured with the free setup, 100 night trial, 10 year warranty and free sheets lets try it. I'm so glad I did. I just hope that I am still this happy in a few years from now.
