At first the mattress was fantastic. No back pain, no shoulder pain, slept cool and comfortable, and sleeping through the night. We bought a king size a few years ago and after a while the two polyurethane foam layers have started to break down. We switched from a traditional spring mattress with a pillow top. We switched because the pillow top caved in and it was like sleeping in a bowl. Unfortunately the purple mattress has done the same. As soon as you get into bed you can feel that the polyurethane foam layers have broken down and are no longer providing support. We recently moved and put the mattress in a bag and sucked some of the air out, you can see where the polyurethane foam is not providing support. When you get out of bed, the purple layer does pull the polyurethane foam back into position and the mattress looks flat. This is really disappointing, especially because of how much we spent on the king size bed. Back pain and shoulder pain is back and lasting throughout the day. I have woken up in the middle of the night with severe pain in my lower back, this mean I am no longer sleeping through the night. I would not recommend spending this kind of money on a mattress that simply won't last.

Bought two full size for our girls. Never ordered a mattress online before and after researching, decided to try. The setup was easy. The mattress seems durable my girls say it is very comfortable. Overall very happy with this purchase and are considering getting one for our bed now!

The mattress is really comfortable, just the right combination of firm and soft. It was easy to order, easy to receive, and easy to set up, and we really like it. Just to tell it like it is... the first night it smelled a little odd, like rubber or plastic, but that went away the next day. Also it is really heavy, but we don't plan to go anywhere, so neither of those things bothered us.

Still in our trial period. We are not sure we are going to keep this mattress. It seems firmer than we like. We are going to try a topper to see if it helps. We are in our 60's, my husband has had back fusions and I have fibromyalgia and other conditions. Maybe it is just our bodies and we will always be in pain but we will give this an honest try.

This bed is super comfortable. It's the perfect balance of firmness and softness. Sometimes I don't even use a pillow because the mattress is just as comfortable on my neck. This was my first mattress purchase and all my friends recommended purple. I'm very pleased to recommend to others to choose purple as well. It's worth the investment to have a really comfortable bed and get better sleep.

Sorry Purple, Casper matress was the one I purchased and I love my Casper Matress. Purple, you were late to the Pontification Party. Powever, it was the most genius decision in world to hire Tim and Eric do do a fake infomercial that was actually real. I would try Purple but c'mon....is it really better then Casper?

I bought the purple mattress a few weeks ago, got the mattress, platform, pillow, and the free sheets. It has made a BIG difference in my life. I no longer wake up with horrible upper back pain, my lower back feels stronger and more supported now, and my neck pains have also gone away. The shipping was much faster then I excepted and It was great from day one...but after 2 weeks its even better. Its the best bed I've ever slept on Be careful when unpacking the bed however i accidentally put a hole in my purple cover fabric (my own fault). I plan on picking up additional purple products in the near future.

We've been married 12 years and this is our 5th . . .FIFTH mattress. We've had the expensive coil one, the knock-off memory foam one, the "pump up with air" one, the REALLY expensive memory foam one, the one that's designed for "bigger" figures and now the (cue the angels song) Purple. From the very first night it was amazing. When they say it's firm where you need it, soft where you need it and you don't sweat the bed, it's all true. We have the original and it is firm but in a really gentle, cushy sort of way. I'm not a stomach sleeper but tried it for a bit one night and it's supportive and gives in just the right places. I'm not much of a back sleeper, either but when I do my butt sinks just enough to fully support my back. My hips don't hurt from sleeping on my side all night. Lack of motion transfer keeps me from waking up when hubby gets up or rolls over. And never have I found myself trying to crawl out of a foam trench. I'm telling you . . . this is the one.

After the 100 day trial, we just couldn't sleep in it, as it was too firm. If you sleep on it with no covering (directly on the the purple grid) you don't notice it as the purple grid is nice and squishy. But once you put sheets on it (even the recommended ones) It moves into the realm of being a bit too firm overall (for us). It would be nice if there was a softer version.

A ski accident and some weightlifting injuries have left me with some pretty frustrating nagging injuries in my thoracic spine and sacrum/lumbar area. I'm left with some deep tissue tightness that comes and goes and can be very uncomfortable and annoying. My previous mattress was a very outdated pillow top. No matter what position I tried I would develop very uncomfortable pressure points because of the inconsistent support, and the pain would become extremely magnified in these areas. The Purple mattress has not eliminated my issues--the tightness I'm experiencing in the deep muscle tissues in my back is something I need to address with a professional--but it is literally the only place I can lie for extended periods and experience true pressure-free relief. The mattress feels firm and very supportive of my entire body while at the same time quite soft and extremely comfortable. I am very satisfied with the mattress and would certainly recommend to family and friends!
