For months I woke up with neck pain, tossed and turned, and always felt exhausted as if I hadn't gotten a good nights rest. My husband and I searched high and low for our next mattress but just couldn't fathom paying $3,000 or more. After many night of sitting on the couch doing mattress research we came across The Purple Mattress. For the cost we were skeptical but we figured why not. With a 100 night guarantee we had nothing to loose. We submitted our order and waited anxiously for our delivery. Since night 1 we have both woken up feeling completely rested. My neck pain has subsided and I don't toss and turn all night. I tend to get rather hot at night and my core temperature has consistently been comfortable if not slightly chilly at night. I have told everyone I know about this mattress. It's definitely a WIN in our household.

It's nice, but not worth *that* much money. It's very comfortable, but I think memory foam beds are better or the same for way less. I'd buy the more fancy ones at the price of this one, I'd imagine they're probably better and possibly worth 1k for full size like this one was. I'd have to try both side by side to be sure. But this model in particular seems overpriced so far. I ordered two types of pillows, I hope they're less disappointing than the mattress

The mattress does a good job of conforming to my body but even so, it's just too firm for my particular needs. Lying on my back isn't comfortable at any time so I've been sleeping on my sides which inevitably leads to switching from one side to another several times during the night as the side I'm sleeping on becomes painful. I've slept on the mattress for seven nights so far.

When I moved into my new apartment I went with a pillow top from a mattress clearance store at a comparable price. Big mistake. I had already been having some stiffness and occasional back pain on the mattress I had been sleeping on four previous years. As a large man (then 300lbs now 350lbs) mattresses tend to sink in some after time which negates any support/alignment. I was hoping to get three years out of my new mattress, however, I only got about 3 months out of it before I started experiencing daily back pain upon waking. It got so bad it started waking me up in the middle of my sleep. I could barely get out of bed most mornings. I was skeptical about buying a "bed-in-a-box" and from what I could tell after days of research didn't think they could hold up to my weight. Eventually it got so bad that I couldn't continue with the same mattress anymore. I looked at a few options and purple caught my eye again. I was hesitant because of a few reviews I had read previously about long delivery times and a lingering smell. Then I read a well written review by a fellow military veteran that just resonated with me. He carried weight also and could not seem to find a solution to morning back pain. Purple worked for him. I was desperate enough that I ordered my mattress right away. It actually arrived before the scheduled date and I got a free set of sheets to boot (surprisingly these are the best bed sheets I have ever had - don't wrinkle - stay taut and tucked!). There was no lingering smell from the mattress (I washed the sheets before putting them on the bed). I could tell that there was a difference fairly quickly. It only took a few nights for the stiffness to reside. One month later, I now wake up pain free. The mattress compressed a little bit under my weight (which I expected), but the nature of the top layer keeps me from actually sinking in and does exactly what it claims. It would be silly for me to say that this bed is the solution to your back pain because everyone is different. At my weight I have to be careful not to "plop" down because I can hit the supporting frame (a wooden platform type to keep the bed low to the ground). But when I lay down at night I no longer dread waking up and barely being able to stand let alone roll over to get out of bed. The technology behind the top layer is awesome. They send you a little sample that you can press on. When you put your finger down the only part that compresses or moves is directly under your finger. Thank you to the makers who thought to incorporate this into a mattress. I am forever grateful for my Purple mattress. Now for another peaceful nights sleep :)

The Purple mattress is incredibly comfortable. I was a bit worried about buying a bed-in-a-box; it's a large purchase for not having tried the mattress first. The 100-day guarantee put me at ease, and I'm very happy I bit the bullet and went for it. It also doesn't sleep too hot like pure memory foam toppers I've used in the past. I have already recommended the mattress to friends and family. The only thing that I'd love to see improvement on is a slightly lower price tag.

I've suffered lower back pain for some time, which caused me to not be able to sleep on our old mattress for about 2 months. After getting purple the first three weeks I woke up with back pain. I was a little disappointed but knew from reading other reviews that it was not uncommon for your body to have to adjust. I finally switched sides with my wife and immediately my pain ceased. I've been waking up with no pain for about a week now. I have no idea why switching sides helped but it did (it might be because it's setting on our old box spring). My wife loved it immediately and had great results.

It seems to be a good fit. I will say it was on the expensive side. Also I got the wrong size mattress protector and you made me buy a second and wait for a refund. I think that's bad business. You should have sent me the new one at no charge and waited for the wrong size to come back. As a business you shouldn't make the customer put up extra money when your product is already expensive. That being said we where refunded a few weeks later which would prob not be doable for all customers.

its a clever idea that doesn't work. The rubber is so stiff that when i lay on my side there is an actual gap between my ancke and the bed. This puts lateral tension on my knee which leads to pain..because of the pain I try sleeping on my back but the pressure points on my shoulders are so great my arms fall asleep. I slept on a wooden bed in Thailand that had more give then this thing..because of the knee tension a person could seriously get injured from this bed

First off, the packaging on the mattress had been damaged and taped back up before it was delivered to our house so the special "cutter" for opening the mattress wrapping was not even.in the package. That was definitely underwhelming. Second, we unrolled the mattress onto our bed frame which only had slats since the purple website said a box spring was not required. We sat on the bed a few minutes after unrolling and our butts immediately sank all the way down to the slats under the mattress. I'm not a super heavy guy, not even 200 pounds and my girlfriend is barely 120 and we sank right down into the mattress. If there is a time period where the mattress need a to "inflate " then they need to make that clear in the unwrapping process. We did the raw egg test with the mattress just for fun and it passed but I'm still underwhelmed with the overall delivery and quality considering I was really looking forward to how great this mattress was going to be. It's comfortable, don't get me wrong, I was just expecting more.

The products are great, but customer care leaves much to be desired. Different pieces of my order were delivered with a delay between 2 to 4 weeks instead of anounced 2-4 days. When asked to change delivery address because of the delay nothing happened. All items were delivered to old address which resulted in 3 separate 30-mile rides. Nit convenient at least.
