I bought this mattress to replace a Sealy mattress that was five years old. My main complaint was lower back pain. The Purple mattress was easy to order and unpack. It was a vast improvement on my lower back (thought not a cure all). I recommend it as a dependable cost effective replacement for traditional mattresses.

Let me start by saying I am a 6'1" male and I weigh 215lbs. Due to my time in the military I have back problems and always wake up earlier than I would like due to back pains and stiffness. I have tried firm mattresses and less firm mattresses and they all seemed to hurt my back in different ways. I bought the purple mattress as a last attempt at waking up without back pains. I was hopeful that it would at least be better than what I have had before. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the purple mattress. When I first laid on it i didn't know what to think, I didn't really sink into it like some of the less firm memory foam mattresses, but it didn't feel firm and unforgiving either. The more I lay in it the more I enjoyed it. The top purple layer has a nice bounce and rebound to it that you don't get with memory foam. There is no delay in the mattress taking it's original shape after moving. The most interesting thing about the purple layer is how it seems to actually push against you (in a good way) supporting the parts that need to be supported. For example when I lay on my side my hip sinks into the mattress but my waist and lumber feel as though the mattress is pushing them up a little and supporting them. This results in my spine staying aligned properly. In my last memory foam mattress my hip would sink but so would my stomach area and spine causing my back pains in the morning. This is also the first mattress with which I have ever been able to sleep on my back. This is due to the same experience of my butt sinking into the mattress but my lumbar being fully supported. You really have to experience it to understand what I mean. I have had the purple mattress for about three weeks now and I am totally happy with it. I have virtually no back pain in the morning (at least not from sleeping, my back problems go further than just bad mattresses). I actually stay asleep through the night (unless the kids intervene in my snoozing), and I feel better rested in mornings. I nearly forgot one of the best parts and that is how cool the mattress stays. I get hot easily and can't sleep if I'm even a little too warm. This mattress stays way cooler than a memory foam or any other kind of mattress for that matter. It is a very refreshing feeling. I have been hopeful before and always disappointed but this time I am very happy and surprised. I will be replacing all of the mattresses in the house with purple mattresses. PS I also like the mattress protector and sheets. The pillow is on the way so I can't comment about that yet.

I was not sure if I would like the Purple Mattress but took a chance and have loved it so far! I used to toss/turn and wake up a bunch because of it but now I tend to sleep more soundly and wake up less. I would definitely recommend the mattress. But I would pass on the sheets because they tend to get very hot!

Purple mattress allowed me to not only sleep a full nights rest but sleep pain free. I'm a side sleeper and my arms don't go numb anymore. My lifting has been better because my low back doesn't hurt all day and my shoulders don't hurt when I sleep on them. I even started using the seat cushion and lumbar support in my machines for work.

I am very happy with my purchase of a purple mattress! I ended up choosing purple because a lot of blogs said out of all the "beds in a box" purple was thr firmest and I prefer a firm mattress. This mattress has great support! I am a former college athlete and still very active so I have some achey muscles. Honestly, this bed leaves me with no sore spots! Some people talk about getting used to the bed, but I am on week 2 and never experienced this. Seriously love!

My wife and I spent a lot of money on a gel mattress and we were very excited to get it home. I sank into it a lot and sweated out every night as it didn't breathe. Both of us would wake up with incredibly debilitating back aches. I would walk like a 90 year old for the first 30 minutes. Not to mention we would wake up in the middle of the night in pain. My wife wanted ANY new mattress to get relief and I saw the Purple ads on YouTube. So the marketing guys get 12 out of 10 - but I was nervous. SO we bit the bullet and ordered the mattress. The first night was heaven as I dozed in pure comfort. My wife and I now sleep 8-10 hours when we can and wake up refreshed and happy. No aches or pains! So the Rocket Scientist guys who designed the bed also 12 out of 10! I am seriously looking at the pillows now for us both! Thanks Purple - I'm happy, like Luke Skywalker at a Jedi Convention! WELL DONE!!!!!!

We bought this mattress and both of us are waking up with the worst back pain! Me and my husband never had pain issues before. I don't like ripples and the holes on top of the mattress (the purple part of the mattress) The only good part it doesn't get hot. Will be returning mine.

Bought the original purple mattress, plush pillows ,frame, mattress protector and sheets. Not one regret! I love it. If your on the fence about buying one... dont be. This bed is AMAZING. I use to have lower back pain with my old bed. With the purple mattress i typically wake in the same exact position i layed down in. Lol. Will be buying another one for my daughter.

All the great testimonials and remarks about the purple brand and the purple mattress is absolutely legitimate. I sleep like a baby dinosaur and have slept like each day since I purchased the purple mattress. If you are in the market and have the funds available it's a tremendous investment in your sleep quality and therefore our overall health and quality of life.

Purple mattress was a wonderful choice for both my hubby- who's on the thicker side, and myself- who is a bit more thin. The day we threw out our 20 year old hand me down springy brick out the window, and unrolled this beautifully cushioned purple piece of heaven...It was love at first sleep! Every day I tell my Purple mattress how much I love it... No longer are the nights of waking my husband with my wild shifting in a desperate attempt to find a position that wont cause permanent damage to my spine...Not only that, but because this heavenly mattress is so forgiving to our mortal forms, my husband has been shedding a few pounds! Really just an all around life saver, highly recommended!!!!
