This is far and away the best bed I have ever slept on. I wont lie and say that I was not skeptical when I first saw the ads. How is it possible that a bed could be soft and welcoming, but at the same time provide the support necessary for proper spine and neck alignment? I am still not very clear on the how, thought It sounds like it has something to do with the purple "food grade material" they are using. Visual oddities aside, the bed performs admirably. I can't remember the last time I experienced high quality sleep. I don't remember the last time I woke up without that annoying twinge in my neck or stiffness in my back. I have had to adjust my sleeping style a bit because I am not used to having the support I need from my bed. I am barely 3 weeks in and I do not see myself ever going back to a traditional bed. Take the 30-day challenge. You will more than likely be blown away by how much better you feel.

I purchased a Twin XL with their metal frame, bedsheets with protective covering, pillow and the weighted blanket. It's been at least three months now and I can say I have slept on it long enough to give a review. With the combination above, I was overheating and sweating each night, this was during the fall months of Wisconsin and the weather is pretty chilly. I ended up removing the weighted blanket each night because it got so hot. After a few weeks of this, I decided to remove the protective sheet on the mattress and the weighted blanket in hopes that it would sleep cooler, it did, but I did not notice any difference from a regular mattress or even a sofa. At this time, the metal bed frame started creaking heavily each time I turned or moved slightly - I have to adjust the arms of the frame each night before sleeping so it would stop creaking. After sleeping on with the pillow for awhile, I started to get a sore neck no matter which position I slept. I'm not sure if this is due to the pillow being too tall for my build (5'2" and 145lbs), but this never happened with a normal, cotton-stuffed pillow. I am really disappointed with the pillow and have now decided to purchase a new one because I would wake up with a headache and/or a sore neck.

I got my bed a week ago today and I'm in love! I've had neck pain for at least two months and now I have no pain. I don't wake up at night anymore and I wake up so relaxed and energized. If you're on the fence don't be! But this! You won't regret it!

As much as I really wanted Purple to be the right mattress for me, unfortunately it did not provide the support that my body needed. I'm a back and stomach sleeper and I started to get severe neck, shoulder, and back pain after the 3rd night of sleeping on it. I thought maybe my body needed time to adjust to it but the more I slept on it, the more pain I was in. It also ran hot for me - not cool at all. I woke up many nights drenched in sweat. Also, the corners cave in when you put regular sheets on the mattress. I eventually returned the mattress after using it for a 3 weeks (technically had it for a month since it took a week for pick up). The representative I spoke with on the phone to start the return process was not very informative and seemed annoyed that I was asking questions. He just told me to answer the questions on the email that they'll send me and go from there. It would have been nice for him to provide the information verbally just in case I were to misread certain areas. I just wanted to make sure I got all the information since I already had him on the phone. The return process took about two and a half weeks. I choose the option for Purple to help me on finding a donation center for the mattress and they directed me to Sharetown. I got an initial email from Sharetown and then a text from the person picking it up a couple days after. I would have preferred that they provided a name and number of that person picking up the mattress in the email because it seemed a little sketchy at first because he just texted me. Eventually, the person from Sharetown came and took the mattress. He suggests not moving the mattress because it's easier for them to pack and less risks of it getting damaged. Only one guy came and took the mattress. I was so impressed!! He did everything within 30 minutes. I submitted the receipt as soon as Sharetown took it. I received a confirmation for my return the next day. Be advised, they do mention that the return takes a few days to show up in the bank, but after waiting 7 DAYS, I received an email from Purple summarizing my full return but still no money back on my card. It took a week and a half for me to see my money back in my account so keep that in mind.

I switched from an incredibly cheap, thin spring mattress. I finally decided to get a new one, the Purple mattress. You weren't kidding about needed help getting it set up! I did it alone, and it was nearly impossible getting it up the stairs! Anyway, the first night was really uncomfortable. My back still hurt, I tossed and turned all night, and I woke up exhausted. But after the first week, I noticed improvements in my back pain. And then improvements in my posture. And now I sleep so well that I beat myself up about not buying this sooner!

If I were to rate only on sleep I would give it 5 stars. I sleep without pain on side, stomach or back. My husband's morning backaches have been greatly reduced. The bed gives yet supports. I love it! However, 1 star was lost for recreational activities if I am on my back as the bed gives too much then. I have found folding a towel and putting it under my hips helps some but we went from 80% success rate to about 10% success rate for me. Recreational activities in other positions are same as always.

For the past 3 years my husband hasn't been able to sleep more than a couple of hours at a time in our bed. He has injuries from a motorcycle accident ... literally a deer ran into him one morning on his way to work! The deer died, thank goodness my husband did not. Anyway, since then his "best" sleep was in his recliner. Out of desperation and worry for his health, I started looking at different mattresses. I read some reviews on The Purple Mattress and it sounded hopeful. So I ordered one for our guest bedroom... just in case. My husband, Lord bless him, has been able to sleep a record 5 hours at a time on The Purple Mattress without pain jolting him awake! Now I just need to get him back into our bed... so I'll be purchasing another Purple Mattress next year, for sure! :)

This bed is great. I was hesitant to purchase a bed online but it was worth it. Since sleeping on this mattress the nerve pain in my upper back and arms has almost stopped. The bed supports my lower back and shoulder area. I would recommend this bed to anyone who need extra support for their back.

I want so badly to like this bed, but I'm just not there yet. We've had it for just over 4 weeks and I have yet to have a restful night. My husband doesn't mind it (doesn't love it either), but we both haven't been excited climb into bed since we've been sleeping on this one. Bonus---I don't feel my husband moving in the night! I really want to like this bed, but am already looking around again because I don't think this is going to work out for us.

Took a few nights to get used to how comfortable this mattress actually is. We can't wait to get home from work so we can get in bed. It's become our new favorite place to relax. My only problem with this mattress is that now that my back isn't sore, I feel all of my other aches and pains
