I don't know what was updated about the original mattress other than the cover and the edge support, but I have soft mattress problems now. I have a full-sized ORIGINAL original purple at home and I absolutely love it. Firm where you need it to be firm, soft where you want it to be soft, and I wake up feeling more rested than ever. Honestly one of the best investments I ever made. I recently moved into another apartment and bought one about a month ago to take with me, and it's comfy, yeah, but now my partner and I are having issues. We're sinking into the mattress, and although it still easily bounces back when you get up, the problem is when we're actually lying down. I'm actually FALLING against him as we sleep and rest in it, so not only does it make cuddling a chore, but since we're both side sleepers, we both wake up with back, shoulder, and neck pain because of it. It also doesn't isolate movement properly anymore and that is incredibly disappointing. We both get up frequently in the middle of the night, and now we just end up waking each other up. Strongly considering returning it and just moving the one I have at my previous home since the old original is no longer available... kinda sucks though because I won't have a bed to sleep in when I visit family. Never thought I'd have to leave a bad review for this mattress, but it's not what's advertised anymore. :(

We had this mattress earlier in the year, and during the sleep trial, tried another online manufacturer's mattress, and ended up coming right back to purple. My only reason for not giving 5 stars, is I wish the top layers was a hair thicker, and could maybe provide a little more softness to it. That being said, We tried a nest Bedding hybrid, and I feel like it really affected my lower back. .Needless to say, we went back to the purple bed.

Sleeps cool. 6'1" 215lbs side sleeper. Perfect position. Had nagging shoulder impingement/pain for the last 2 years. bought several contraptions/pillows to alleviate discomfort. Threw them all away after this mattress. Afraid to sleep in hotels. Wish you guys were around in my 20s and 30s.

I'm a 150 lb male who is 53 years old. The overall softness of the mattress was too firm for me, especially when sleeping on my side. The top 2" layer had a nice and unique feel but I think the middle layer was too firm and would not give for me when lying down. It's probably great for heavier people but didn't work for me. Returned without issue. Purple customer service is top notch.

We've had our king sized purple mattress for a few weeks now, and it's great. Very comfortable for both my wife and I and the kids love being tossed onto it too. Serious impact absorption; I can stand on the foot of the bed and do a face-plant version of a trust fall without experiencing any discomfort. Every other bed I've tried that on, my nose hurts at least. It's thinner than I expected, but you only notice it when looking at it. Lay down and you forget... possibly because you're almost immediately sleeping on the most comfortable thing you've experienced. My only complaint is that it is so hard to get out of bed in the morning... too comfy.

As for the mattress: We love it. It took me a week or so for my body to adjust. But my husband loved it the first night. Customer service : had a shipping issue ( ended up being my fault not theirs) and it was resolved with excellent customer service. My only complaint is that I had to sit on hold for almost an hour before I got through to them. But once I did they were very friendly and very helpful.

My wife and I have had it with expensive mattresses that end up being junk. I have had back issues for years and recently had major back surgery. My recovery has been nothing but painful and I was at my wits end and hated going to bed at night. We finally ordered our Purple queen mattress and base and we are amazed at how comfortable this is. We look forward to going to bed every night now and hate getting up in the morning. We'd stay in bed all day now we are so comfortable. This is the most comfortable mattress we've ever bought. It's only been a few days that we've had it but it's just the beginning of a long relationship with our bed. The warranty on both the mattress and base are excellent. Way to go Purple on such a GREAT product.

My Husband and I have always had trouble finding a mattress that was suitable for both of us. Was told by a friend of mine to try the purple mattress and I finally decided, after multiple failed mattress buys, to at least give it a try.. And finally relief, my husband doesn't sweat anymore and I don't toss and turn as much. Purple is definitely the best in my book. These suckers at HEAVY though, definitely not looking forward to moving time.

I am really sorry about writing this review but it is true we do not like it. The adds are misleading and the bed feel cheap and is not so comfortable. it takes 10 minutes to get into a position and then its not bad but the minute you move it takes time getting comfortable again.

Worst matress ever purchased bran new matress I have to purchase tempedic top so my husband and I can sleep I shouldn't wake up in more pain when the main advertisement of the purple is to release preasure points do it right the first time and buy a temperdic
