I absolutely love my purple. I look forward every night to my comfortable mattress. It is amazing soft yet so supportive. My husband and I both comment on how well we sleep at night. I would never buy another type of mattress, and I have had foam mattresses. We bought the Purple 4 mattress and love it. We've had the mattress for two months and love it more and more each night.

To say I was skeptical would be an understatement. We have tried two other direct to consumer mattresses in the last 18 months. Both very well regarded, and they were clearly high quality, but neither was comfortable. I had expected both to be fantastic, but in both cases I ended the month long "adjustment period" in tears. In more pain that my 12 year old average mattress was giving me. So I was disappointed and honestly scared to try anything again. Purple claims it is the first real innovation in the industry in 20 years. I considered and thought that just might be true. So after about a month of daily back and forth with myself, I ordered. Finally...finally, my husband and I sleep. I don't feel like I can say all the good things I think and still sound like a grown up. So I'm just going to admit that literally every night when we get into bed, I am downright giddy about it. So yep- I recommend it. A couple more notes because I relied so heavily on reviews myself... zero smell and it's ready to go the moment it unrolls. We ordered two TwinXL mattresses because we have always wanted a king (neither of us should be considered little people), and we wanted to also have adjustable bases. This could be part of my giddiness- it is really just so fun. If you can, either get the adjustable base with Purple, or even somewhere else- it is so incredibly worth it. We got the mattress protector from Purple, but I went with a Beech Jersey sheet- and for me that is so much softer and more decadent than bamboo. And it is crazy stretchy, so don't feel like it will only work with the bamboo sheets. Also, the day after I finally ordered I see an email that they came out with new Purple mattress line. Naturally. But I am so so happy I ordered the original. The price point was just more possible for us, and I honestly don't see any need for an improvement. I rarely submit reviews, but I'm also rarely this over the top happy with something. We love our Purple and we feel lucky to have found them.

This is certainly way better than my old mattress. It has a very firm feeling, which I prefer. It absorbs movement well, so you will not disturb your partner when changing position. However, I still feel a bit uncomfortable when turning onto my side. I had this issue with my old mattess; I would wake up with my shoulder feeling jammed up if I had fallen asleep on that side. It's possible that I am still experiencing stiff muscles and knots from the old one I am hoping this problem will be resolved by getting a pillow that is the right height for side sleeping. Otherwise, this is a very comfortable mattress and I am overall satisfied with my purchase. A quick note - this mattress is HEAVY, so be careful setting it up - have someone help you as Purple company suggests in the unpacking instructions. Also lift with your knees when putting on your fitted sheet, 'cos DANG.

My husband and I have been sleeping on a regular, pillow top, spring queen size mattress for the first few months of our marriage. Decided to upgrade to a king and had SO MANY friends/family recommend a Purple mattress. We did research on the different "kinds", basic, hybrid, etc. we both are "gym" goers and didn't think we'd need the extra support of the springs that's in the hybrid purple mattress. We decided on the basic purple mattress and it has been a dream so far! You can feel it forming to your body curves when you lay down (on back, side or stomach!). It's easy to sit on the side of the bed to put socks or shoes on without it compressing down. You can also feel a "cooling" effect from the mattress, which is awesome if you're a "hot sleeper". We absolutely love this mattress and are very happy with our decision!

I was super shocked this bed worked! I'm really glad I got it, it arrived this morning and I decided to take a little nap on my day off and I woke up to use the restroom and realized I don't have that achy knot in my back as intense! Just from that nap it helped so much I can't wait for the nights rest, due to me having back pain from my tumor on my spine I'm really stoked it was all true about this bed and I can't wait till my dog gets his in next week!!

I'm still in my 100 night trial period and so far it's the best mattress I've slept on. I have noticed that sleeping on my side with the purple pillow is less comfortable than sleeping on my back. I'm contemplating upgrading to the purple 3 before my trial ends. Great mattress for the money!!

Mattress got here, no sheets, though. Bummed, because I'd really like to try this thing (it's still rolled up in the corner), but I find myself debating whether I should give my money to a company that bait and switches. I know sheets are a small thing, but, small thing or no, it sucks when they lie to get sales. If they'd just responded to my inquiry regarding the missing sheets all would have been forgiven, but they must not care because it's been four days, and I've checked back twice, with zero response other than the auto-generated response when I contact them. Boo. Guess I'll go research a Casper.

I bought this mattress because my husband complained of back pain due to arthritis and sleepless nights, he is 78 yrs old. Not once since the first night has he complained of either one. He sleeps like a baby and wakes with more energy than I. I only wish the Ca. King had been available then. When it comes time to replace my Queen you can be sure it will be a Purple. Thanks Purple, such a wonderful nights sleep without all the big expense.. Can't wait for the pillows.

I was having terrible pain in my shoulder while sleeping and hip pain . I could only sleep for a few min on each side. Then move to my back then to my stomache . This would go on all night. It was terrible. I started to do research on the Purple and ordered it . Best sleep in months no tossing and turning or waking up all night because of terrible pain, my husband didn't snore that first night either. Now I am not going to say he has stopped snoring completly but i can say it is not as bad. Thank you Purple.

I purchased the original Purple mattress in 2017, and have been sleeping on it for about a year and a half. I'm 6 foot and 210 pounds, and have slept on only one side of the queen mattress. I recently started having back pain (lots of stiffness), and my chiropractor recommended that I try sleeping on my right side. For me, that meant switching to the other half of the mattress, which has never been slept on. The change in firmness was extreme - it was as if I'd climbed onto a different mattress. The side that I've been sleeping on sags much more under my weight, whereas the unused side has much more firmness and support. This mattress is about twice as expensive as other online competitors, but I went through with it because I thought I was paying for quality. This is a real disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend this mattress.
