The way the mattress forms to your body it is really hot. I find myself waking due to being so hot. Additionally while the mattress does feel good; when the mattress forms around you it tends to pull the fitted sheet as you sink in (I like tight sheets). I am still new to this mattress only a month in but I have noticed these issue that leads to this review.

As if losing sleep on an uncomfortable memory foam mattress wasn't bad enough, I was up lots of nights researching how to get out of that hot, concave hole I'd fallen into. My husband and I made a bad buying decision called, ahem, tempur-pedic. I haven't slept on my purple mattress for a full 30 nights but I don't need to because the first night literally was a dream! I didn't move around hardly at all. I woke up feeling rested and NOT SORE! I also didn't constant throw my covers on and off because I was either sweltering to death or freezing. I highly recommend this posh purple gem! (FYI - we bought the regular purple in a California king and use the purple pillows.) Sweet dreams, Proud purple princess!

The sheets are quite HOT. Like, sweat till you can't breathe anymore, HOT... My girlfriend and I bought a mattress and sheet set and tried it for the first night. It was very comfortable for around 30 minutes, then the heat started to kick in. We contacted Purple about the lack of ventilation and how hot it was to see if we were doing something wrong... they recommended we buy more Purple Sheets... We obviously didn't continue correspondence with them anymore. After we changed back to regular silk sheets, it was a night and day difference. Much cooler than with the regular Purple Sheets. The bed is springy and almost feels like a modern water bed. I would recommend the bed to anyone. It is quite comfortable.

It's very soft, and it cradles you. My husband and I wake up with much fewer aches and pains. Thank you for making a mattress that's affordable to purchase without it costing an arm and a leg. I highly doubt we'd ever have gotten a new mattress with such high quality at the same price as this wonderful mattress. Thank you, again.

I got my King-sized Purple mattress as a replacement/upgrade for my saggy Queen-sized mattress. My previous mattress had been causing me some minor back pain every morning for a while. When I first tried the Purple mattress, before I put sheets on it, I thought it felt very supportive but gave way in pressure points unlike I've felt in mattresses before, which I liked a lot. I put my sheets on and slept on the bed mattress a few nights, but was somewhat disappointed. The Purple mattress seemed too firm and my back still hurt, but differently (more in my lower back than mid-back like it had been before). I removed a portion of the sheets and realized that it was way different and seemed much better without. I looked into it and found that Purple recommends stretchy fitted sheets and sheet protectors to fully utilize the technology, but a loose sheets was a somewhat-adequate substitute. After a couple weeks my back didn't hurt any more (now I think my back was slowly getting better), but I feel like I'm still not getting the full value of the mattress without the stretchy fitted sheet and stretchy mattress protector. I would have got them right when I realized that might be the problem, but I didn't want to invest in the significantly more expensive stretchy setup before I knew if I was sold on the Purple mattress. I like the mattress now and am reluctantly-willing to buy the sheets, but I do wish the stretchy-sheet "suggestion" (I'd lean more toward requirement) had been made more clear prior to purchase. Plan on the extra expense of stretchy stuff and you'll not be disappointed.

My dad bought us this queen mattress as a present, and I haven't woken up with any back pain since we upgraded from a 5 year old pillow top spring mattress. I don't find it firm at all; it's the perfect mix between hard and soft. I'm a female side sleeper, 170 pounds and I sink just enough into the top so my pressure points are cradled. We live in south GA and the mattress does not sleep warm which is nice. I gave my grandmother the complimentary purple seat cushion that came free with my mattress and she has been raving about it. She told me that before she had it her office chair was killing her tail bone, but she actually looks forward to sitting in her chair now! My next purchase from y'all will be the purple bed pillows.

I have degenerative disc disease and have been trying to find a bed that provides support but is still comfortable. After trying memory foam, orthopedic beds, and air support I was convinced there was no solution. My wife suggested Purple because she was convinced the unique design might help. The first night I slept on the Purple I immediately noticed a difference! It has now been two months and my back pain is gone and for the first time in years I am sleeping through the night without pain. THANK YOU PURPLE! If you have lower back issues BUY THIS MATTRESS!!!! You will never regret it.

At first I was skeptical about the purple mattress. The video is a little hard to believe but I was hooked. After dragging the mattress up a flight of steps( I would not recommend doing it alone as I did), set up was a breeze. I have arthritis in my hips and the base of my back. I can honestly say I feel relief with this mattress compared to our old spring loaded pillow top. I will buy another one in the future.

I was skeptical at first, I thought what have I got to lose, just sleep right? I didn't just see results after a few days...I saw results after the FIRST NIGHT. I actually slept and woke up with no pain in my lower back and hips. I didn't realize how badly I had been sleeping until I got this mattress. My boss said she even noticed how rested I was the next day, night and day difference. I love waking up every morning without pain. Now that I have my bed and love it and keeping it, I plan to purchase the power base and see how much better it can be.

Let me start by saying that I'm a very sensitive person when it comes to mattresses. I sleep horribly when on vacation or staying at a friend's house. I did mounds of research and spent over a year before deciding on a Purple mattress. It is the single best decision I've ever made in my life! I don't wake up in pain anymore, I sleep through the night. I no longer wake up from being too hot or too cold. This mattress is perfect. I actually look forward to going to bed at night.
