This mattress is so bouncy it's almost impossible to sleep on unless you lay perfectly still. While that may work for single people, it does not work for couples. While it feels soft and squishy in the store, it feels much firmer and more springy at home. I would not recommend this bed and suggest a different thickness or brand.

My husband and I got a queen size purple mattress just a few years ago, and we like it. It did take some getting used to the first week or so. I also wish it was softer, or that the gel layer was thicker. It feels a bit firm to me, maybe because Im a heavy lady? (I think since then, Purple has released some new products with thicker gel layers). Anyway, our daughter likes our bed so much, that we finally got her a Purple mattress of her own.

Very satisfied so far! I have had the mattress for about 2 weeks. I am 33, and was having consistent aches in my hip and lower back.I realized my mattress was 13 years old and decided on ordering a purple after hearing good things. I noticed a difference after just one night of sleeping on it! I am a side sleeper and this provides enough give along with support that is so comfortable on my hips, I have never felt anything like it. The mattress requires a good support system so some adjustments may need to be made for those with platform beds or who do not have a box spring. I would definitely recommend this mattress!

History: I'm over 200lbs, have had back problems for years, and always had a pillow top mattress. This mattress has helped my back tremendously, though I will say it was WAY more firm than I expected at first. Not in a bad way, because it contours perfectly to your body, so you sleep as straight as possible; but it did take a few weeks to adjust. Would highly recommend!

My wife has had multiple surgeries on her back, and needed something that instantly accommodated to her pressure points, but without sinking in too much so that the support kept her from sinking into odd angles. Since having the Purple, it is the first time in 3 years she could sleep on her back. It is also great for my lower back pain. We tried an Intellabed, but needed something less expensive. To start off I am 25 and have had back pain everyday waking up for the last 5 years. Too young to be aching after a night of "rest." Got my purple mattress 2 days ago and wake with not only no back pain. But absolutely feeling rested. If my opinion of the mattress changes I will update. But as of right now there are no complaints.

We have been sleeping on our new Purple mattress for about a month now. We love it. I think it is soft enough, my husband thinks it is firm enough. I still have times that the mattress is hot, but that could be due to the fact that we are not using the purple mattress cover as Purple is out of stock for the California king size. I have recommended the mattress to anyone who will listen.

After years of using hand-me-down mattresses I finally decided to buy the purple mattress that I've been eyeballing for months. I kid you not I always spent my nights tossing and turning and never slept longer than 4 hours at a time but since I broke that mattress in I haven't woke up a single time and I've become a sleep-dropper. Literally life changing :)

I had been shopping for a new mattress for some time. I looked at many. My son had gotten one and was very pleased. He has had some back pains and was very pleased with the results. At first, I thought it was too soft. It is not good for sitting on the side of the bed, watching TV and munching before laying down. That's probably not a good idea anyway. Once you lay down on it, it contours to your body shape. Since it does this, I can sleep on my side again without discomfort. I do think there is a difference in my daily stamina after getting a good nights sleep. I would recommend this bed to a friend.
