Yes that's correct- the mattress is loud. It's very comfortable however I did not order the new bed stand and I just went with my old Bed and box spring. When you get into bed it makes a terrible squeaking sound. It's so loud I wake up anytime my dog rolls over. The bed is really comfortable and it seems to be the only one my BF and I can agree on. He likes firm, I like soft and we agree. We just get woken up by the loud squeaking. We are waiting to purchase a new bed stand so we won't need the box spring anymore- just need a few more pay checks. If you're going purple don't mix it with any other box spring. Other than that it's a great bed.

I love the original purple mattress. I've had multiple brain, skull & spine surgeries & can never get comfortable at night. Purple (on adjustable base) has improved that. I'm getting better sleep overnight & finally waking up at a regular time. I'm very happy with my purchase!

I've been suffering from chronic back pain & muscle fatigue for almost a decade. Recently, the pain and fatigue have escalated to the point that I have been leaving work early on the days it becomes unbearable. My doctor has put me on a medication used to treat patients with Fibromyalgia, I've been going to a chiropractor, and have even started acupuncture - nothing seems to help. Out of desperation and willing to try anything at any expense to ease my chronic back pain, I purchased a first edition Purple mattress. I don't know anyone with a Purple mattress, so I watched dozens of youtube reviews to see how people felt about them. I couldn't find any negative reviews, so I took the leap of faith and made the purchase. I've had the Purple mattress for a few weeks now and I am LOVING it!! Probably the most comfortable one I have ever slept on! There is still a bit of fatigue in my back muscles, but I can actually make it through the day now without the sharp, shooting back pains! As the nights are going by and I am sleeping on the mattress more, there is a noticeable difference in the way I feel and function during the day. I could ramble on and on, but will cut short with a simple "Thank you." This mattress is actually changing my quality of life for the better and there just aren't enough "thanks" to give for that!

We bought the queen size mattress with the sheets and pillows. We contemplated just buying the mattress, don't do it!! Buy it all, the sheets are the most amazing thing, the pillows were weird at first. The first night we slept on the bed we slept horribly but by night 2 we were hooked. We love it.

I've done nothing but RAVE(Brag in case someone is all "Dictionary") about the Purple since I bought it. The Affirm payment plan is perfect for me and offers booth cooling while sleeping, and also comfort and support for my hips so I don't wake up in pain. I won't give this bed up ever! but buy all the options to make the perfect blend of comfort and rest!!

We are loving it. But we also have been needing something for a year now and our couch was giving us a better nights sleep then our old mattress. I was bummed that as soon as I bought this a better deal happened the next day but oh well. Only reason im giving it 4 stars is I have found its not amazing when I sleep on my stomach, which is starting to break that habit of mine.

We were in search of a new mattress due to ours being old and from the discomfort. We were read through many reviews on the Purple Mattress and decided this would be the best option. After the first night, we woke up and was not very pleased with mattress. So we said maybe it is just because it is new. After two and half weeks, it doesnt seem to be getting any better! We wake up, our backs hurt and my hips hurt. We have been seriously thinking about calling to return the mattress. Please help! What are we doing wrong? Does it make a difference if it's on a platform?

I've had the Purple mattress for just over a month now and I'm very happy with it. It sleeps cool, but not cold, and vents enough heat to keep me right in the middle temperature wise. The bed is extremely comfortable, but does take some getting used to. When I first lay on the mattress, I felt like I was sliding around. This is just the "purple" part of the bed doing what it's supposed to. After a couple of minutes the bed conforms to your body, but not like a memory foam mattress; this is far better! The bed will give just enough to contour to your body, but not so much that you sink in. This makes it perfect for turning and getting out of bed. I've slept better on this mattress than any other I've had before. I have it on an adjustable base (already had it, sorry Purple) and have had not issues with slipping or moving of the mattress. I've used several other mattresses over the past year in an attempt to find the right one, and the Purple mattress is it! I also have the Purple pillow (prior to the mattress) and it is by far the greatest pillow I've ever put my head on. This mattress won't be for everyone, it does sleep a little firm, but really it falls just on the firm side of center on a comfort scale. Before you consider wasting your money on a certain mattress company that will find your "number", you should consider Purple. It is far superior to that other company, and really, I believe it to be superior to most other major retail brands, and a fraction of the price. Purple has found a customer for life with me.

Can't wait for the pillows to come out! The bed sleeps great! I love it! You don't sink in so far that it's to hard to move, but you feel supported. The cutter that came to open the bed broke before we got it open, so we had to use a knife. Also, if your a petite person, you might need help moving it, it's quite heavy(as all memory foam mattresses are)

Although new, I bought the original Purple foam mattress without coils, due to budget considerations . I am undecided as to keep it, return it, or swap for the new coil mattress. I feel that the foam mattress is slightly too firm for me, even though I weigh 225 pounds. It is also slightly warm,, as I awake slightly damp with sweat.
