I have had my purple mattress for about a month now and love it. It is very comfortable sleeping either on your side or on your back. It is the only mattress that when I sleep on my back, my back does not hurt afterwards. I normally prefer soft mattresses, but this is firm while being very supportive. I would definitely recommend a purple mattress to anyone looking.

I slept on the Purple mattress, my ex had bought, for 2 years (we're no longer together). Before 2017, I had to sleep in a recliner due to having 3 back surgeries and couldn't sleep on conventional mattresses. Those 2 years sleeping on the Purple mattress we're the BEST sleep I've ever had. No pressure on my hips, shoulders or legs. It almost seemed like it was created just for me! Since my ex and I split up, I'm back to sleeping on a recliner. There are nights I cry wishing I had my very own Purple mattress and hating the recliner I have to sleep on once again. I'm disabled and can't afford to buy a Purple mattress for myself but I hope that one day I will have one again. I cannot say enough great things about this mattress. I do find the mattress comfortable and sleep well on it initially, but I find myself waking up multiple times during the night to move as my hips start to hurt after lying in the same position for a while. This didn't happen with my old bed, so I'm hoping that this is just my body adjusting and not something that will continue.

Well to be honest I was so hoping this mattress was going to be the answer to my prayers but alas it is not. My sciatic pain is worse now then it was before I received my purple. I cannot find a position of comfort, can't lie on my side, nor my back and honestly if I don't get a decent nights sleep soon I'm going to scream. Not really loving my experience and yes I have given it the appropriate amount of time. Help me please Warmest Regards Maureen Wertz

We got the mattress to replace a lower end spring mattress that was sagging. It solved the sagging and does provide a really comfortable surface to sleep on. It's not the "absolutely the most amazing thing I've ever slept on" feeling I hoped for, but nothing else seems to get to that feeling either. Maybe I'm just not easy to please. LOL

My wife and I knew we needed a mattress. We both were experiencing stiff lower backs and pains almost every morning (and we're young). Doing our best, we shopped around for months looking for the "best" deal. I had several friends who purchased Purple and swore by it, so we jumped on the bandwagon. This mattress sleeps so cool. I used to wake up sweating literally every night only sleeping with a sheet. Now I sleep with the luxury sheet by Purple and a comforter to keep warm. It's amazing how well the mattress breathes. We purchased the Harmony pillows as well, very cool design and pillows stay cool as well. The profile of the harmony is a bit high, if I sleep with it any other way than on my side it causes a little neck discomfort, but for the wife she is in love. Overall we have had a great experience with everything Purple, glad we took the plunge. And did I mention no more back pain?! A+

Let me start off by saying that I gave this two stars, solely because of the mattress. The experience with Purple was great. Shipping was faster than expected, and the quality of the product seems top notch. OK, on to the bed then. When I ordered this bed, I was mostly concerned with three things that I had heard were an issue with "non-traditional" mattresses: 1)They have a bad smell. 2) They revery hot. 3)Due to your weight distribution, your feet are always elevated. I must say that on all three of these issues, the Purple mattress passed with flying colors. There was no smell, it sleeps nice and cool, and it didn't feel like I was sleeping in a hammock, with my feet being elevated. All that being said, I really don't think this is the bed for me. Purple says that it takes about 3 weeks to get used to sleeping on their mattresses, and they ask you to give it at least that amount of time before making up your mind on whether or not you want to keep it. After the first night I was like "nope, not for me!" But, I decided to give it a few weeks before deciding. It has now been almost 5 weeks, and although it has gotten a little bit better, it's still not for me. I think I will give it a few more weeks, and if I still feel this way, I will ask for a refund. Here are my issues: First of all, I had read that some stomached side sleepers experienced numbness in their arms, and this was the case for me. I have slowly ended up sleeping on my back. The good news is that I typically snore when sleeping on my back, but since sleeping on the Purple mattress, I have not been kicked or hit by my wife in the middle of the night due to my snoring. The bad news is that I wake up to back pain. For me, this mattress is too soft and even feels lumpy. It feels really comfortable when you first lay down on it, but after about five minutes it doesn't feel so great. It reminds me of sleeping on a guest bed. Like when people put a plush mattress topper on an old worn out mattress. At first it feels great, but you just wake up with back pain. So here is my issue, I can't sleep on my stomach or sides or I wake up with numbness in my arms, and I can't sleep on my back or I wake up being sore. My wife isn't experiencing the same issues, and actually likes the fact that I'm not snoring. That being said, she isn't really in love with the mattress either. I told her that I wanted to send it back and she said "Whatever..." That's not exactly a ringing endorsement. My final issue with the mattress is the way it looks. This is by far the least important thing, but it doesn't look very nice. Remember how I said that it felt like I was sleeping on a worn out guest bed? That's what it looks like too. If you are someone that likes to have a nice crisp looking bed, this is not for you. It looks less like the Waldorf Astoria, and more like Jerry's Motor Inn. Like I said, this is not the most important thing for me, and probably not at all important for a lot of people, but it is one more issue I had with the bed. It's something that I could easily look past if I absolutely loved sleeping in it. I plan on giving it another month before making my final decision, and I hope that I can adjust to it, because I'm a tad bit skeptical of the 100 night trial period. I have a tough time believing there is no catch. We will see. If things change in the next month, and I'm able, I will update my review.

I have woken up feeling refreshed every single day since I purchased this mattress. My back pain has disappeared due to the support provided in the hip region (I constantly struggled with sciatic nerve pain). Sometimes I don't even use a pillow because the mattress supports from head to toe.

For the first time in my life I have found a mattress that allows me to sleep at night without waking up in puddles of sweat. I've actually defended your mattress on FB in an ad for Ghost mattress or something like that which made false claims trying to discredit the Purple brand. I'm glad I chose Purple. I love and brag about my bed. Might try the pillows next. Keep up the great work.

Cal king standard size is 72 wide and 84 long. The purple Cal king I got measured 72 wide and 80 long (at the bottom). In addition, the concave shape of the mattress makes the top of the mattress smaller, measuring 70 wide and 78 wide. This resulted having a gap of almost 6 inches at the top of the bed, pillows keep falling in that gap. I have notified purple and they have sent a new mattress, the new one is better but it still is 3 inches short. How is it possible that they have sent 2 defective beds in a row I have requested a refund.
