First, I don't usually right reviews unless I'm extremely dissatisfied or extremely satisfied. it's important to understand that there could be other mattresses out there that would have given me the same result. I don't know and I will probably never find out because I'm NOT buying another mattress brand for a very long time. I bought my mattress in October 2017. The reason why I was interested in a new mattress is because the 2-year 'new' mattress that I had was giving me back problems. They weren't severe back problems but every morning I would have to stretch before leaving the room or even going to take a shower. The pain was gradually getting worse over the course of maybe a year or a little more. Additionally, I had injured my knee playing basketball in late 2016. Considering my age (early 40's), I thought my knee and back pains were mostly due to aging. I figured my body wasn't as capable at repairing itself through the night like it used to. In late 2017 my knee pain was getting much worse to the point where I had to ice it almost daily and had to undergo physical therapy 2-3 times per week. I continued to play basketball on it which didn't help at all (but I love the game...so I'll play until I can't play anymore). Physical therapy would help a little but it would still swell and some days I could barely walk up and down stairs. What does this have to do with the bed? I researched mattress for more than 6 months before deciding on trying Purple. I thought if I could reduce the back problems maybe it would help me isolate the knee issue I had. This is the part were you won't believe what happened and you'll wonder if this is even a real review. It took only one week and my back and knee problems significantly decreased (almost completely gone)! My legs had a very strange, uncomfortable tingling sensation for the first 5 days. I was close to just returning it because it was so uncomfortable. But by the end of the first week, my body had acclimated to the bed and I've been sleeping well ever since. It's been over 3 months now and I absolutely love the bed. I do have some issues side sleeping or sleeping on my stomach on occasion but I think it's because I don't sleep on my side as much and I haven't adjusted to those positions yet. I'm not going to say this bed is for everyone, but for me, it's been life changing! I can play basketball once again at a level I haven't played in 10 years. I can get out of bed and go straight into any activity without doing stretch routines. Almost all of my knee pain has gone away. What's left of the pain is due to the original injury with a small tear in my meniscus. I recommend this bed to anyone! Particularly, if you are athletic, in your late 30's to early 40's and suffer from unexplained back pain every morning, this bed is for you! Just like Purple says, make sure you give yourself time to adjust as you'll likely experience a different kind of pain (or uncomfortable feeling) in the first few days or possibly weeks. And with the 100 days return policy, you can't go wrong! Also, I purchased their pillow and power-base. My wife and I love the power-base! The pillow works for me (not life changing) and doesn't work for my wife (note - the pillow is heavy and shouldn't be used for pillow fighting with your kids; unless you're punishing them for bad grades or not cleaning their room). The shipping and the customer service department were amazing. Any questions I had, they answered immediately, and the response time was faster than most I have seen. I love the mattress, however, it is a little more firm than a lot of reviews would have you believe. I love a good in-between mattress, yet have noticed this one is closer to the firmer side than I had originally intended. However, I will not return the mattress, because regardless of the firmness, it's still one of the best mattresses I have ever slept on. My recommendation, go and get yourself a Purple mattress as soon as possible

My wife and I are going on 6+ months on this matress and we both absolutely love it, and the pillows. Both my wife and I are side/back sleepers and this bed has been nothing short of miraculous for us both. I'm a long time contact and combat sport athlete (tae-kwon-do, Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, rugby) and have also been in a couple of bad car accidents and have been dealing with long term hip issues and nights are often the worst pain wise. Some of these pain issues have also played a part in insomnia issues as well and over the years we have tried multiple different mattresses including memory foam, pillow tops, air, gel/foam combos, etc. Nothing has ever given me any sort of real relief but the Purple mattress. It provides amazing support everywhere I need it, it doesn't cause we to over heat like foam mattresses and now I average 6 hours of sleep a night consistently. I know that may not seem like a whole lot, but for someone who has averaged under 4 hours a night (medicated) for more than a decade it is absolutely life changing. I don't dread going to bed, I don't have anxiety about waking up with a sore back or hip and my wife and I both recommend this mattress to anyone who will listen. We've even ordered mattresses for our two children who also live them. When my wife or I are traveling the thing we miss mist, complain about most, and look forward to returning too most are our Purple mattress and pillows. They are simply that amazing. There is absolutely nothing like this mattress on the market, it is a total game/industry changer.

I LOVE the advertising for Purple so I bought the mattress. Unfortunately it was not the bed for us. Turns out, we need a much softer bed & we still woke up with pressure points & pain. And it's not like we're too skinny to not sink in- I'm 160, my spouse is 190. We donated our mattress, it will used for refugees, and we got a very quick refund. I hope this mattress works for you. Because the advertising is fantastic.

My wife and I upgraded from a standard pillow top queen mattress to the purple queen last month. The purple mattress is more firm and took a couple nights to get used to. The mattress is a huge upgrade and provides support where I need it, my lower back has been much better, each morning when I wake. The mattress sleeps much cooler than a traditional pillow top mattress. It's a quality mattress and I would recommend to friends and family as an option.

I have had other expensive beds before and some worked great for me but not my wife. This mattress is the first one that works well for both of us. It is very different from other mattresses and takes some getting used to, but it is a great purchase overall.

I bought the original Purple mattress back in 2017 after trying a few memory foam mattresses and loved it. I kept it for a couple of years and eventually gave it to a friend when I moved in with my fiancée since she had just bought a new mattress (Tuft & Needle) and didn't want to get rid of it. I slept okay on it at first so I figured it was fine. A couple of months ago, I was no longer able to sleep through the night on the T&N, so I decided to get another Purple. A quick note, I'm about 5'11" and 180lbs, and primarily sleep on my side. Despite having owned one already, I'll still say that buying it again was one of the best purchases ever. I didn't even realize how much pain I had in my hips when waking up on the T&N until my first night on the new Purple. Just as with the first one, I: - Fall asleep faster - Wake up less frequently in the night - Have no pain anywhere when waking up I love this mattress. I have no plans to ever own a different brand of mattress - it's that good. Bonus for the super friendly support team that helped me exchange one of my Harmony pillows.

Overall this is a good mattress. I am a side sleeper and don't move much since switching to the purple mattress. I have noticed that in the last couple weeks when I wake up my arm on the side I am sleeping on has gone to sleep since I'm not moving around as much while sleeping.

The mattress was comfortable when I first started but I noticed a lack of support the more I used it. Moreover I noticed that my side of the bed sunk in noticeably after a nights sleep. I am a large guy (6'4" 240lbs) but I have never had a new mattress sink that quickly. I literally feel like I'm rolling uphill when I want to roll to the other side of the mattress in the morning. This mattress may do what it has advertised but I don't think this mattress is for me.

I have horrible back pain with about every mattress I've tried, including a way overpriced "will remain nameless expensive black mattress." I finally decided to get a purple because, hey, why not one more mattress that claims to be magical. But the fact is it is truly magical. I don't know how to explain it but if my back hurts in the slightest and I lay on it, it feels like my spine is aligning and stretching out and every little pain disappears. Best purchase I've ever made and I haven't shut up about it on Facebook or in real life. Just try the darn mattress!!!
