First let me say that I have been trying this mattress for about a month with the Purple mattress protector and Purple sheets. I am a side/back sleeper and often have trouble sleeping/falling asleep. I also weigh 130 lbs. Now the pros: My old spring mattress hurt my hips when I was laying on my side, with the Purple mattress my hip pain from the old mattress is pretty much gone and I love that. Having never slept on a foam mattress, I'd expected to be no edge support but to my surprise the Purple's is pretty good, although not as good as my old one. My girlfriend tosses and turns a lot when she sleeps and I do not wake up from it anymore like I used to. The quality on the purple is great. Definitely looks and feels premium, which should be expected since this mattress costs a considerable amount more than other mattress in a box options. Another aspect that I disliked about my old mattress was that it got hot during the summer. I am unsure if the Purple is cooler yet but it doesn't seem it will. Now for the bad. First off this thing is heavy. Very difficult to maneuver up a narrow staircase still-packaged. Next, more importantly, I find that the Purple is a little too firm and a little uncomfortable. You can definitely feel the grid beneath it which I believe attributes to it being uncomfortable for me. It has gotten more tolerable over time but still feels stiff. My girlfriend agrees with me on this. The break-in period was brutal for me, and I would have aches in the morning for a few weeks. Now, the aches have gone away, but I still don't find the Purple all that comfortable and I am heavily debating on returning it, even though I really want to like it.

My wife and I researched many different mattresses. We landed on the Purple because of the technical data and a friend that has one. I am 200lbs and my wife if about half of that. She likes a softer bed and I like it firmer - but not hard. We were coming from a TempurPedic that we had for the last 13 years. I was starting to get my arm falling asleep when I was on my side in the old mattress. NOT IN THE PURPLE! It is a great bed. You feel supported but also floating. Is is also MUCH cooler than the foam beds. Super happy with the purchase. P.S. The pillow is the best. Get that too.

Well to be honest I was so hoping this mattress was going to be the answer to my prayers but alas it is not. My sciatic pain is worse now then it was before I received my purple. I cannot find a position of comfort, can't lie on my side, nor my back and honestly if I don't get a decent nights sleep soon I'm going to scream. Not really loving my experience and yes I have given it the appropriate amount of time. Help me please Warmest Regards Maureen Wertz

I have been searching for the right mattress when I came across the ads online. The video was convincing and the return policy sold the idea to give this a try. While I waited for the shipment it turned out that people I knew also purchase the mattress and was very pleased with it. At my chiropractor appointment she commented that my alignment was holding since last adjustment. I never thought a semi-firm mattress would be comfortable but it is working out great for me.

The Purple bed is very nice, for the first few weeks, then it starts to bottom out. I'm 5'11"- 230lbs and a 75% back sleeper only to side sleep when my arms start falling asleep. Within one year of our first Purple bed, it needed to be replaced by the factory. When we activated our warranty, the representative wouldn't let us pay the difference for the upgraded model so we're stuck with the same bed that failed. Now this 2nd one is feeling just like the first and I feel this bed will be sunken within a year also. My arms and back are already falling asleep again and it's only been a month. Needless to say, not very happy with Purple for not allowing us to upgrade, we would've paid the difference! I think it would've been fine if we had the thicker, upgraded model. Poor management makes this a bad purchase, not to mention the original model is a failure for people over 200lbs. Make this right Purple, upgrade my bed!

The first few nights were good. After that it got worse every night. Both of us waking up several times a night, both of our backs hurting in the morning. We have had to resort to sleeping on our guest bed until we get a new mattress and the purple returned. I'm sure it works great for some people, it's just not for us. Lots of cool marketing and hyper-elastic polymer sure sounds cool. I just need a good night's sleep. We spent a chunk of change on the stretchy sheets and the protector which are NOT returnable, so those will be donated somewhere I guess. Expensive lesson.

I was hoping for a cloud-like feel of sinking into the bed. The original Purple provides good support, but it's firmer than what I had hoped for. However, it sleeps very cool, which is great. Still trying to get used to it, but I might get a topper for more softness?

I got the original Purple pillow for my mom for Christmas a couple of years ago, and she loves it! The cat loves it too, haha. I just recently bought the original queen mattress and I slept for 11 hours the first night I got it. It is truly the best, and most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on!

We are still trying to decide if we want to keep this mattress, it is comfortable, especially on your back, but when I roll over, or sit on the edge, the depth isn't great, I can feel the platform frame underneath me. It would be perfect if it was 2-4 thicker...

The Purple Mattress is simultaneously the weirdest/best mattress I've ever slept on, even if it seems like something you buy from an infomercial. Even with the Goldilocks spokeswoman and the constant reference to the mattress' development by a rocket scientist, I was skeptical. Until I watched the unedited footage of the Egg test, the one where they drop the eggs under the glass and then Goldilocks then breaks the eggs over the bed with NO EDITS in the video. I was convinced then to try it and I'm glad I did. I'm actually sleeping a good and thorough sleep and that seemingly small change has improved many aspects in my life. I have energy again without having to practically inject myself with caffeine, my overall posture has improved since my back is no long stiff with aches, and my credit score has improved as well. I financed my bed by the way.
