Bought an Purple 2 one year ago to put in our snowbird home only have used for 6 months. This bed feels like we are on a board. Way to hard. Both of us are having sore hips, backs, shoulders due to this bed. The fancy expensive sheets made for this bed are pilling. Dont know what we are going to do with this mattress.

So I'm first going to say - this is NOT a bad review because of a lack of adjustment period. We bought 2 of the Twin XL's Purple 3's for our dual side adjustable king bed. This is not cheap - but my husband is a chonic pain patient specifically for his back. We loved the Purple ads - and were lucky enough to only be about 30 min from their Alpine UT showroom - so we felt better about Purple because we could actually test it out. We'd bought normal "store beds" before - always ended up hating them - but I was really worried about getting a "bed in a box" that we couldn't test. Yes - you can ship it back with most companies - but that seems like a HUGE pain! So we actually got to test it first and it was a dream! We got them and it was no different at home! Hands down the BEST mattress we'd ever had - and even though it was more than I initially wanted to spend, I regretted NONE of it! My husband was even in significantly less pain! Then... We woke up from that dream. These were perfect for a little over a year. Then my husband kept saying he felt like the coils were sticking in his back. Sure enough - it seems like at least one of them has gone on it's side, and is nearly tucked under the grid. So for that side near the edge - it's like he's laying on a spring covered with a thin cloth. I unzipped the main cover - and tried to turn the coil - no love. I tried to pull back up the edge of the grid - but I realzied, I can't really tell what's going on under there - and won't until I cut the fabric - which we haven't done yet... I bought some mattress pads to at least cover that more for now - and keep searching for anyone that might have had this problem and found a fix to it without cutting into the mattress (under the main cover of course). So far, nobody. A felt like, "Well, it's still an awesome bed - maybe just this one had an issue..." Then mine started to do the same thing, near the edge of the foot of the bed. If I flip around - my arm is laying on a freaking spring. And now we're starting to feel other places. Again - I can't even tell you what's going on - just somewhere near the edges - it's like a spring (coil) turned to the side, and the "grid" no longer covers it - and we can't wedge them back up. My hubs contacted Purple to see what to do, and got a big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'm super disapointed - because it's not that we didn't like the bed - but for the kind of money these cost? Just over a year isn't worth it. So now I'm trying to decide if I just cut into the under-fabric until I can see it all and then try and sew it back up later - or... if we just get something different. I just expected more.

I wanted to love this mattress, but unfortunately creeping on it hasn't been consistent. Some days I wake up with my back hurting, and some days I wake up feeling well. I don't have shoulder pain like I have in the past, but I don't think I will be keeping the mattress.

We wanted to "break it in" or have it break us in. 100 nights is insufficient time to see how our backs or hips will adjust etc, plus my wife was pregnant, so we didn't know how her body would be when not pregnant etc. We wanted to trust in the purple science. But we could feel the mattress being quashed down to much to be supportive, and we could and can still feel the purple Fran right through the mattress. They actually fixed its main problems recently, adding supportive coils and a thicker purple lining. Too little too late obviously.

We choose the basic purple to replace our 20 year old pillowtop. It was pricey, but believed the hype. It is quite firm to sleep on, so if you are into that, this mattress is for you. One of the higher end versions might be more to our comfort liking, but the price point is ridiculous.

We have owned our Purple for approx 3 years. My husband and I are both disabled veterans, and I had broke my back in an accident. I couldn't sleep due to the pain and really couldn't find a mattress that would work not to mention the price. Once the Purple arrived and my husband found someone to help unroll it we have never slept so good. Everyone in my family now owns one and I recommend them to everyone I meet who complains about their mattress. Every time my husband and I leave home and have to sleep anywhere else we complain that we wish we could take our Purple with us. Truly the best mattress ever and I will never buy any other. Purple for life!! My husband even said the other day that he wants a Purple in his coffin if he dies. Lol

Purple came highly recommended from several people we talked to. Initially when I first laid on it I thought to myself this is way too firm BUT it's perfect. The purple matrix really is something you have to adjust to. We bought the pillows as well. It took about a week to get a really good feel for it and my husband and I both love it! He is a stomach sleeper and I a back and side sleeper. I always woke up with hip pain but not with purple! We highly recommend!

We were a bit outside of our comfort zone in ordering a mattress online. A week befor we had shopped in a national retail store and had found a few mattresses from the major brands that felt pretty good. But as you know, lying on them in the show room is so very different than actually sleeping on it in your own home. The cost of their mattresses caused a bit of sticker shock. Afterwards, we felt that it was worth trying so we took Purple at their word with the 100 night trial, and ordered. We felt that we had nothing to lose. It arrived a few weeks later, and to date we have no regrets and feel really good about giving Purple a try. It is as comfortable as everyone says, and it feels so different than everything else we had experienced. In the end we got a wonderful mattress for something like 1/2 what we were looking at paying for one of the main brand's offerings.

I purchased the OG purple bed and I wish i would have purchased the 4". I do not think that the OG has enough support for my weight (275 LBS) to sleep on my side and I wake up with sore shoulders every morning. I am only about three weeks in...I may upgrade.

I was very skeptical of Purple. It seemed to good to be true. After years of living on a third rate mattress is this really a mattress that my back has been looking for? It was! this bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in my entire life. I have been all over the world in luxury hotels. No bed compares simple as that. Give it a shot you have literally nothing to loose. They will pay for it to go back if you don't like it. This mattress shows you don't have to be a king to enjoy the luxuries of the royal family.
