I'll admit, I was super hesitant to purchase a bed online. I went to one mattress store, with less confidence in buying anything there when laying on a few beds for a couple of minutes. Not to mention, I felt very awkward laying there with people looking at me. I've had long term history of severe hip/back/neck/shoulder pain (sports injuries & accident). My husband recently had a bad spell with his lower back (dirt bike riding enthusiast). I spent a few weeks researching several companies. I chose The Purple Mattress based on reviews alone via YouTube. I purchased the purple mattress, pillow, mattress protector, and received the sheets for free as the special. The mattress was delivered first, and everything else a few days later. Delivery timing was good though, much better than I anticipated, based on reviews (no issues for me)! The mattress was good from the start, a little firm feeling, so I thought, but I really do think my body needed to get used to the difference of how I was SUPPOSED to be laying! I noticed I needed a different pillow, since I didn't have the purple pillow yet. My head felt much lower with a semi-cheap pillow I've had way too long. I wake up feeling more refreshed! We don't ever wake each other up by moving around in the night. That might be one of my favorite parts. I kept my husband from a good night's sleep before with our old mattress. Every time I tossed or turned, he would wake up. I moved A LOT! My husband's back issues were gone within a few days (mostly back sleeper + side some)! Since my issues are more severe, I still have some pain in my shoulders, but nothing like the pain I felt sleeping on our previous mattress (side sleeper)! It really does get better and better! I almost can't wait to crawl into bed at night! That said, the purple pillow is what probably made our minds up 100% on keeping everything. Once the pillow arrived, we both thought, no way, this is way too flat, not going to work! I noticed a difference the first night sleeping how much nicer the bed felt with my head placed at the right height! My old crappy pillows would be full in the beginning of the night and within an hour I would wake up to adjust! This never goes flat and it's not too flat like we both were thinking! It's perfect! It makes my head feel like it's floating in a good way. Now having it a month I am not sure how I slept with anything different. Reviews had me prepared for a strong odor and they were correct. I'd say there is a hint of odor even after a month. I really could care less though. I'll never have another pillow other than The Purple Pillow. Worth every penny. I can even tell the air flow is awesome! One night I had my hair damp from showering before bed and I woke up chilled on my scalp from air circulating well! I'm not complaining! That means less of me waking up to turn my pillow over to have a cool side! The mattress protector is so soft and stretchy for a protector. I guess that's the most I've noticed about it since it's so new. I haven't spilled anything on it yet to know if it works properly or not. The slate sheets are so soft and unbelievably stretchy. Everything is perfect for us and we couldn't be more happy with our purchase! We are forever Purple customers!

I really needed this mattress to work for me and my husband. We wake up sore every morning. We got the original purple. They aren't lying when they say it's firm. It's very firm. Maybe it's because I'm a light person, 120lbs, but there is really not much give to the mattress at all, feels like I'm laying on the ground. I really wanted to like get good sleep for once. It came when it said it would. Customer service was friendly and helpful. I only gave a 3 star because in pain every morning.

School is starting and I cannot sleep in my original mattress. I beg my parents to get me purple. They say it's SO EXPENSIVE even though it's $1000 cheaper than my original mattress. I've watched all the YouTube videos, commercials, etc. I will not be able to sleep without Purple Mattress. This is one of the only times I can find a comfortable mattress. I don't get why my parents wouldn't want me have neck & back pains. Please tell me some good ways of how to convince my parents.

I have suffered from "poor mattress syndrome" for years. Waking up with hip pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain is just an absolute "pain" in the rear, which is the one place I don't have pain from sleeping.... My wife is 5 months pregnant and is been sleeping better now, with Purple, than she did before with our old mattress. My sleep has been about the same, it may have to do with my profession. But we are both happy with Purple. Maybe I should try a Purple pillow? I hear they are a pure, perpetually perfect, pleasing, performing product of a pillow. And they are purple. Thanks

This is without a doubt the best mattress I have ever used. My wife and I were sleeping on an expensive hybrid for the last 5 years until the foam layer started to break down and created two large indentations where we normally sleep. After reading the reviews on the original Purple we decided it was time for a change. I am so happy we made the switch and both my wife and I have never slept better.

It's my first mattress perchase since childhood. I'm a Bread Baker and I need a good night's sleep for an early bake. It's a situation where I'm getting aquainted. And I'm falling asleep faster, and moving less during my sleep. A.k.a that's Good. The sheets are so breathable and comfy too. I think purple is here to stay. Eventually consider the adjustable base in the future It's alot to buy for a Single Person

We were really excited about the mattress and then when we unrolled it, we were somewhat dissapointed it wasn't thicker. There also an area that was sunken in. The way we set up the mattress the uneven part was at the head of the bed so we didn't notice it as much anymore be it's where we put our pillows.

I bought it in hopes my back would stop hurting. I've woken up with a huge knot behind my shoulder and sometimes I wake up feeling like my ribs are bruised. I called to ask to return it and they said you have to have it for a minimum of 21 days because thinks like what I'm experiencing are normal.

I was excited to try out the purple mattress. THE SHIPMENT was fast! I had the mattress (from the States to Canada) within 3 days! THE PACKAGING is nice even if it is a little wasteful as I don't know what use you would have for that giant purple heavy-plastic bag it comes in (compared to traditional cardboard boxes). THE SET-UP took the normal amount of 5-10 minutes (faster, if you are helped). THE MATTRESS feels nice and soft. It is definitely unique (compared to memory foam and hybrid mattress) but not in a bad way, just different technology. Does give off a bit of smell but that passes after a couple hours/days. Unfortunately, YOU NEED A BOX SPRING or something underneath that isn't slats as the mattress is so soft and thin that otherwise, you will feel the slats and metal frame underneath you as you move around. I could only put up with this for two nights and then called Purple to returned it. THE RETURN process wasn't smooth. I went to the website to start the return and it suggested I email them. I did. I got a confirmation but no actual reply. Called in and they couldn't find my order number for the longest time. The customer service representative eventually sent me a form to fill out to initiate the return, this didn't result in much for a few days. I called back as the MATTRESS HAS NO STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY so once the mattress isn't flat on a bed it is like a wet noodle, impossible to stand on its sides and takes up so much of your space. This is only an issue if you're returning the mattress and have no date for pick up. If you keep it (assuming you have a box spring or flat surface to put the mattress on) you should be fine. Just my experience wasn't ideal.

So my husband and I have been wanting a Purple for a long time now. We decided to splurge and use some of our wedding money plus some Christmas money we got from my parents who knew how much we wanted this bed. I'm 7.5 months pregnant and we just slept our first night on it. On our old mattress, I was being woken up around the same time every night with extremely uncomfortable aching hips for the past 3 months. Did that happen last night? Take a wild guess. I'm amazed. I'm so happy we got this bed. I'm sure it's going to transform what my 3rd trimester would have been doomed to if we kept our old bed. Life-changing mattress. Also, yeah, you can't please everyone and every product out there gets some negative reviews no matter how good it is. But as for me and my husband, we are Purple people now.
