I walked into the Mattress Firm near me in Memphis, having already picked out a memory foam mattress, when I tried the Purple 4 in the store. I'm a side sleeper with hip bursitis that often keeps me awake. But not on this mattress. I love that you don't sink down into it, I love how cool it sleeps, and I love the lack of motion transfer. I wasn't looking to spend this much, but I'm so glad I did. I'm a convert!

I am so pleased with my purple mattress purchase. My shoulders and back have always tended to be stiff and painful, and I had become used to waking up in the morning with a lot of discomfort. I was hopeful that this mattress might reduce some of that discomfort, and was excited to see whether I could see improvement after a few weeks using it. I had read from other reviews that the bed could take some adjustment time, and I was alright with that. But then the bed arrived and I noticed the difference on the first night. There was no awkward adjustment time- right away I slept fantastically and woke up feeling more refreshed than I could remember. My shoulder pain has significantly decreased, as has the stiffness in my back and I've only been on the mattress about one month now. My boyfriend reports a night-and-day difference in how soundly I sleep through the night. I also purchased and would recommend the purple sheets- they are amazingly soft! Thank you Purple!

This bed has proven to be the most comfortable mattress I have ever had. I tried some similar mattresses in the furniture store and was unimpressed. This mattress was back ordered due to its popularity and still came very quickly and before the estimated time they gave me for it's delivery. I would highly recommend this bed! My college kids have their friends over and the first thing they say is "hey, want to try my mom's mattress?" I HIGHLY recommend this mattress. Congratulations to the cofounders, your hard work has paid off!

My wife and I love this bed! We have noticed since we don't sink in like we used to our pillows also needed to be replaced. Plus our old sheets couldn't compare with the comfort of the stretchy sheets purple sells. In other words, don't plan on just buying a mattress, plan on buying a whole new sleeping set.

I have bone cancer and this mattress has made my sleeping wonderful. I am both a back and side sleeper and of course, I sleep on my right side and that is the side that I have bone cancer in my hip; I can now sleep comfortably on the side, what a blessing. I am not wild about the massage feature but I will use it on my legs at times, it distracts from any pain I have there.

My husband had wanted a new mattress for quite some time now. The problem was our current mattress was a little more than 2 year. It was an mlily memory foam mattress that started out great, but over time you began to feel indentations where you slept. It was becoming uncomfortable but it wasn't that old and I didn't want to spend the money. Going on year two my back really started hurting and I could barely sleep through the night. I read a lot of the reviews for the purple mattress and they were mixed, but for the most part positive and the reasons varied. One of the reasons I was wary was my husband ordered the purple pillow at Christmas and it smelled for two months. It was a rather strong plastic smell that I couldn't stand. I finally caved and ordered the purple mattress. It took about a week to get here and was delivered in its 'small' box. We opened the box, unwrapped it and rolled it out. It was ready to go. No odor either, which I was very happy about. I can tell you from the first night I slept on purple my back stopped hurting immediately. It's an interesting sensation because it does have a soft feeling when you first crawl into bed, but it's very supportive while you are laying down and I am one who needs a firm mattress. I sleep very well now and don't toss and turn like I used to. It is cooler than the memory foam mattress, but I feel it's slighly warmer than a conventional mattress. Not a deal breaker as I'm always hot anyway! One final note, I am about the pickiest person there is when it comes to mattresses and a real Goldilocks, four mattresses in less than 10 years. Some of the reviews mentioned they could feel the grid and I will say that's true and you do realize it's different than a conventional mattress especially if you run your fingers overs it, but it's so comfortable when you are laying down I don't notice the grid at all. We got the 2" purple and I am finally getting a good nights rest! For us the purple mattress gets five stars!

This mattress is solid. I like a softer mattress, my husband likes a more firm mattress. We both love this mattress. Delivery took longer than we had hoped. Ultimately we are happy with the mattress. I sleep on my side normally, but will often switch to my back and stomach-- the mattress is comfortable for all positions.

We love our purple mattress! There is a faint odor at first but it goes away quickly. Month one three and four have been fabulous. Month two was a bit rough--the bones in my lower back had to get used to actually being supported. As my muscles finally relaxed, the bones shifted and I did have pain for about four weeks. Totally worth it for the wonderful three months and counting that have been full of great sleep! This mattress is superior to any other we have tried. Thanks Purple!

I am nine months post partim and have suffered from back and joint pain since the birth of our daughter. The purple mattress has relieved my pain almost over night. We purchased the pillows as well and have been really happy with the combination so far. Great comfort for a great price. Highly recommend.

I love my purple bed and sheets, however I am disappointed one can not purchase the fitted sheets separately. The sheets are expensive and the snags only happen to my fitted sheets - both sets. They are over a year old but only by a few months. When i contacted CS they said they saw many of the same request. I just ask Purple to offer a solution, either patch options or purchase fitted sheets seperately.
