It still tastes very close to the classic Kraft mac and cheese everyone already knows and loves, but with the added benefit of extra protein and fiber. Sometimes “high protein” versions of foods end up tasting different or having a strange texture, but this kept that creamy, cheesy comfort food feel really well. The pasta cooked up nicely, and the cheese sauce was smooth and flavorful. I also liked that it did not feel overly heavy even with the extra protein. Having 17g of protein and 6g of fiber per serving makes it feel more filling and balanced than regular boxed mac and cheese, especially for quick lunches or easy dinners. Another big plus is that it does not contain artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes. It still gives that nostalgic Kraft mac and cheese experience while feeling a little more modern and nutritious. Overall, this is a great option for anyone who wants easy comfort food with a little extra nutritional value mixed in.

I did cook the noodles for 13-14 minutes in boiling water as the package says, but they were not quite the same texture as regular noodles- I wondered if that is an aspect of the pea protein. It didn't take away from my experience, though, and I appreciated a carb-y food having protein in it as well. This especially made a good side dish with a hamburger meal.

In terms of the quality of the food, I think this was far more inferior to the regular Kraft. The taste was almost wooden, with the cheese not exactly coming through. To be honest, I couldn't even smell it while I was cooking it. It was just mush. The serving sizes seemed fine but I'm not sure I'd want that much. It is perfectly serviceable if necessary, but by no means would I use this as a source of protein or replacement for regular Kraft. Wouldn't recommend, but it is held up by the fact that it is cheap, easy to make food.
