Honestly, when we first got our first Purple mattress, we were in love. We would try and convince other people we knew to buy one too. Then we noticed there were already impressions happening on the mattress. We contacted Purple, and I will say at least they did have great customer service. They did replace it. This was basically January 2021. We are approaching January 2022 and these impressions have already happened again. Basically within a 2-3 year window, the foam has already compressed and is not holding up. For context, I am 5'6, 160 lbs. We have followed all the things in terms of the setup of the bed and frame. We use stretchy sheets and nothing that would compress the foam already or degrade the purple grid. I think for spending a decent amount of money on a mattress that has a 10 year warranty, they do not hold up even close to that. And to be fair, I think when I look back, the fact that this mattress can be compressed down into a box and shipped to me, it makes sense the foam is not going to hold up since it has already been squished down to fit inside a box. It is difficult to see in the photos but I tried to attach them to this review. This is for the original mattress not the hybrid versions.

This bed is nothing short of a miracle. I'm a super light sleeper and my husband is a truck driver. We both have had nothing but exceptional nights on our king Purple mattress. Also bought the platform base, fantastic and indulged on the purple sheets as well. The sheets are out of this world cool and super soft. I am a walking salesman for this company. Only great things from me and hubby about Purple!

I am looking for a mattress that stays cool, which the purple mattress seemed to do exceptionally well. I need a mattress to support my low back but is soft on my shoulders & hip, the purple mattress was great for my low back but was too firm for my shoulders. They were numb & hurting shortly after lying down. I changed out my pillows trying to find a working solution. No luck. Therefore, the purple mattress unfortunately was not the right fit for me. I wish you offered a softer firmness option!!!

I purchased a spllit king purple mattress. I find it comfortable and I am (mostly) satisfied with my purchase. My goal in purchasing the split king was to eliminate motion transfer from my spouse tossing and turning on his side of the bed. The purple mattress split king has diminished a lot of it, but not all of it, so i can still feel some mattress movement when my spouse tosses and turns on his side of the bed.

To start out with I have insomnia, back issues along with a slew of other problems from multiple Army deployments. My wife also has back pain, hip pain and multiple surgeries on her knee from the military and law enforcement. My poor wife was bed ridden for a few weeks due to surgeries and she was constantly in pain not only from the surgery but her lower back and hips from this terrible mattress. We bought the mattress in July of 2018 and we have just replaced it because of how terrible we have been sleeping. It is like sleeping on a cement block! When we first got it, we just thought we needed to get used to it so gave it some time. Plus we sunk most of our extra money into the mattress and could not afford another one. We never slept well and in fact all of our issues got much worse. Unless you want a super firm mattress do not buy this!

I have a pretty busy schedule, and sometimes I don't get the amount of sleep every night that I'd like to. With the purple mattress I've noticed that even on a short amount of sleep I feel more rested than I would on a normal mattress. The purple mattress has changed my sleeping experience in an awesome way!! Thanks Purple Team

We are so happy we decided to get this mattress. The first few days I was not convinced because the bed felt too firm. After about 2 weeks it all changed. It is perfect - my side is still a little firmer than my husbands because he weighs more than I do but I think it just adjusts to what you need. I have had great sleep on this mattress so far and highly recommend it!!!

My wife and I got back from a trip up to the UP of Michigan and when we got home and slept a couple nights on our old mattress, we realized that we slept better on our thin sleeping pads in our tent than we did in our own bed! The next day we ordered a Purple Mattress and could not be happier with it!

Ever since a backpacking trip 16 years ago to see the redwoods in Northern California, my lower back hurts every night. It has never been a real issue, as once I get up, the pain goes away after maybe 5 minutes of walking around. I've just gotten used to it. The only "bed" that doesn't cause the pain is my hammock, which I now use on backpacking trips. Besides the hammock, every single mattress causes back pain. I've probably slept on 30 different mattresses between friends' houses, hotels, and family. Well, last night was my second night on my new Purple mattress, and they were the FIRST two nights in an actual bed that did not give me back pain. I know all mattresses claim to alleviate back pain, and so many reviewers say the same thing, but the Purple has seriously set my back straight. Fortunately, my back pain wasn't serious, and did not cause problems once I was out of bed, but it's nice to be able to sleep 10+ hours and not have to wake up due to back pain. Furthermore, it was amazing being able to just jump out of bed to quickly take the puppy out this morning. Usually, I would have been limping around for 5 minutes before the pain went away. When I first laid on the mattress, it was firmer than I expected. My first impression was actually that I would like it, but not love it. After two nights, I couldn't be happier. My wife and I both slept great. She doesn't sleep well, and didn't wake up once. I know the back pain disappearing for two nights in 16 years sounds statistically irrelevant, but it is the ONLY two nights on a mattress to be able to claim that. It was the mattress for sure. I am sold, and will be keeping my Purple. Oh, it also doesn't transfer motion, which is great for us with dogs. So perfect. I'm so happy! Thanks Purple!

"They"say that your body may need 30 days to realign and adapt to a new mattress but by morning #2 my husband said his back didn't hurt anymore. It took me about a week before I no longer had to work out morning stiffness but since week #2 I get up and make the bed right away with no lower back pain. We bought a regular king-size, a couple observations; when were each pretty much on our own side of the bed we don't feel each other move in the night and I think we each sleep better with less turning. We had an incident with our pooch not feeling well last night, thankfully we had a really good mattress pad on the bed! I'd also like to comment that the sheets sold by purple are the most comfortable and best fitting sheets we've ever owned and after 44 years we've had a lot of sheets! We've been sleeping on the Purple-3 about 8 weeks now, for us it's the best mattress ever!
