This is a nice mattress, however, I'm only 115 pounds. It's a little on the firm side. It definitely does not sink into your body. It only does where there is pressure. My boyfriend is 300 pounds and he says he does not have hip or shoulder pain... my opinion, for light weight people you may want a softer mattress. It's very firm where there is no pressure. I am considering returning this and trying a softer foam mattress. Company is great and mattress is good quality.

I love the Purple advertisements, and since we were in need of a king size mattress after upgrading our bed frame from a queen, I decided to explore the online mattress market. While Purple was my first choice, the price was a bit high for me, so I decided to try out a competitor first (Nectar). My wife did not once sleep a full night on the Nectar mattress. It was giving her back pain, and honestly, it was giving me pain as well, and I'm not a picky sleeper. After a long return process, my wife was ready to shop local, but I had to give Purple a try... And I'm happy I did! The Purple sheets, combined with the Purple mattress make me feel like I'm floating on a cool, soft cloud. I'm actually looking forward to going to bed ever since getting this Purple combo... and my wife (which is a very picky sleeper) likes it too! No longer tossing and turning, I sleep like a baby every night.

I was hesitant at first to purchase a mattress in this fashion until I came to grips with the fact that many of my purchases are made "product unseen" and online these days. Plus, it is truly risk free. Once I pulled the trigger, I can honestly say we are thrilled with this mattress. Soft and supportive in all the right places, high quality, "cool" to sleep on versus other foam options which seem rather hot, and the service was fantastic. I regularly encourage our friends to lay on our bed and try and it out and everyone's first reaction is just a huge sigh of comfort.

My husband and I have argued over beds for a while now and we have gone through 2 mattresses already. One I liked but he hated and one he liked but I hated. So,I decided I was going to look at some with a different new make to it. I found purple and honestly it was the creative commercials that sold me on it. I ordered the mattress and the frame. It has been absolutely amazing. We sleep so well every night. Heck its so comfortable there are days I dont even want to get out of it. If you are on the edge of this, just go for it. It is completely worth it and so are you!

We've had our Purple 1 (the original) for about a month. Good: Very comfortable. Just the right amount of support. The polymer eggcrate grid feels weird at first, but it's pleasant and COOL to lie on - nothing like memory foam. We also have the mattress protector, which is rather expensive but I think worth it; it breathes well and isn't heavy so it stays cool as well. I can sleep equally well on my side, face up, or face down, which was definitely not the case with our old innerspring. My lower back also definitely likes this mattress better. Bad: ...I haven't found a significant downside so far. I'm wondering about the possibility of mildew developing on that non-porous eggcrate eventually, but as I noted above the mattress shell and protector breathe well, and we pull the bedding off it for a few hours every week, so I'm not really worried about it. Bottom line: We're both impressed with this mattress. It's comfortable, easy to take care of, and reasonably priced by modern mattress standards. We'll probably buy another for the guest room at some point.

So I've had the original purple almost a month now and I HATE it. I did lots of research read lots of reviews thought this mattress would be a good fit. I was wrong the mattress is so firm that it makes my shoulder and hip ache unless I change positions every few hours. Which is exactly what this mattress is advertised not to do. I still like the idea of this mattress and maybe one of the softer versions would actually be pleasant but I can't afford those and I'll definitely be returning this one as it is so uncomfortable I dread going to bed. The purple pillow on the other hand has been wonderful and done exactly as advertised it's a bit awkward to move around but is an excellent pillow.

This mattress was bought for our college-age son, whose friend had the same mattress. He insisted that this was the only mattress for him. His father and I were skeptical. But he was right. He would stay in his bed all day long if he could. He no longer complains of back aches. When your son wakes up happy and refreshed - always a good sign.

I love my Purple bed - every night I climb in and say "Ah, bed!" I have the Purple 4 twin mattress (my husband needs a firmer mattress so we bought two for our king frame). I've gotten a massage every month for years to relieve neck kinks. I never realized the kinks were caused by the old mattress/pillow combination - I just knew the mattress was too hard and uncomfortable for me. Since getting the Purple system and sleeping on it for approximately 1.5 months, I have almost no kinks! I'm not willing to give up my monthly massage but I truly love my "sleep system." My husband isn't as enamored as I - says the pillow is not right. He ordered the new Plush Pillow - hopefully it will be here soon and hopefully he'll love it.

Everything was fine for a few months. Slept cool, bouncy; woke up fresh and relaxed. Then, the foam started to fail. I reached out to customer service, opened a claim, and they ghosted me. I'm still waiting for response, and my sleep worsens every night. The sag test they had me perform revealed there was over DOUBLE the threshold required to file a claim, yet I'm sleeping on a mattress that is now bottoming out on its (purple recommended) base. I've had multiple people ask about new mattresses and want my professional opinion-unfortunately, I have to steer them elsewhere. I hope the newer coil-based mattress sleeps better.

We've had our mattress for about a month. My husband has loved it since Day 1. I'm still deciding. It's definitely more comfortable than our old mattress, so far, but I'm a bit concerned because it seems like it might already be showing two distinct sides (meaning, it might be "cresting" in the middle and "sinking" a bit where we each lay) If it continues, then I won't be a happy camper. My husband doesn't see the same thing I'm seeing though, so I will wait a bit more to see how it seems to be holding up.
